    I'M TIRED OF IU SUCKING!!!!!

I'd take Donovan first of those two because of his proven track record but I must say that with all the mentions that Stevens has gotten its cause me to kinda research him a little and I like what I read. I know that he went to the final game twice but to me even more impressive was that even after those players moved on he was able to regroup and reach the sweet sixteen a couple years later. I like the fact his team's repetitively over achieved. They won some big games when missing key players. He's from Indiana which would help recruit the state which I think is crucial. I like the fact that he and Butler were in on recruiting right up to the end. Even though Cody went to IU that is a family that had been through that recruiting process before and knew how to weed out the slackers...and he didn't get weeded out! There is definitely a lot to be impressed with in his resume.

IU vs UNC Greensboro Post Game Thread

playing defense in large part is about wanting to get to the end of forty minutes and know in your heart that you played like a tough mofo! You may not always win but by god I played tough!I did what my coach told me to,I had my teammates back and I didn't back down from nobody or nothing! You may beat me but you aren't going to intimidate me!

    I'M TIRED OF IU SUCKING!!!!!

lol, I'm not that fair weather! TBH, when I hear Donovans name mentioned my first thought is that there is no way in hell he'd leave Florida to come to IU. My second thought is...would he? If he would if dump Crean in a heartbeat! Two NC, multiple final fours, proven recruiter, seems to run a clean program, long track record of success...get him to Bloomington if he'll come! Stevens?I'm not quite as sold on but I think he'd be an improvement over Crean. His coaching acumen seems pretty good but he has never proven that he can recruit at the level needed to compete at a top level program. Not saying he can't but he hasn't "been there, done that"yet. He did seem to run a clean program. I'd love to see Crean succeed but...in your seventh year and this is all you got? I'm a supporter but I'm not a blind supporter. Seven years is a pretty long time to prove something! Even if you give him a pass on the first three years I don't feel he's been an overwhelming success the past three plus years. Zellers freshman year is the only year I feel his team's have over achieved!

    I'M TIRED OF IU SUCKING!!!!!

I agree with you in regards to the Pitt game. Everyone seems to be pointing to that game as a barometer of success...hell, they're not even that good and we get them at home! If we're an elite program we SHOULD win that, and easily!

    I'M TIRED OF IU SUCKING!!!!!

I'd take either one of those coaches. And feel so good.
  6. I'm not sure who/where to make the donation but if they keep playing the way they did the other night...I'll be the big secret donor! Not sure what the Hairy Bear cost but sign me up for buying all three of the damn things!

    Revised Season Expectations

who do you foresee being the inside presence next year? I don't see either of the incoming freshman being the answer. Perea? He's not the answer in his third year and so I see no reason to believe he will be in his fourth season. Holt? April? Neither one of them can seem to even touch the floor to TRY and develop into an inside presence. Crean seems to be a good person and in a lot of ways he has done some great things with the program but I'm not sure he has a definite plan to get to the top. I find our recruiting strategy baffling. Why take recruits at the last minute, who play a position where we definitely have a need, tie up a scholarship...then not play them? Very few teams play 11-13 guys...just leave the scholarship open and use it on a player next year that you have confidence can play! We can have all the outside shooters in the world but if we aren't competitive on the inside we'll get killed next year as well! I personally think he should commit to playing Holt this year. Sink or swim. Perea and Holt with TW at the three. Hartman has been surprising in a good way and I think he could give them solid minutes backing up Troy.
  9. I hear ya!I live in the Cincy area and I'm sick-n-tired of hearing the Kat-s#=t talk! The sad thing is that ya really haven't had anything to come back with to them in a long time! Just listen to the crap and walk away muttering!

    11 Things I think I think

how many seasons has he over achieved since he's been at IU? The only season I believe he has even remotely over achieved is Zellers freshman season. I would love to see him and this team succeed but what I truly dread is that he and this team will win just enough games to keep his job. I don't want mediocrity! Go big or go home!

Going to be a long season

if you see him...check if he's wearing slip-ons! Lol

Going to be a long season

almost every big time program has these types of losses. While I'm willing to support Crean I'm not willing to blindly support him. A person develops a track record. There are several things about his track record that I think a lot of folks are having a hard time supporting.

Going to be a long season

I think one of the most important things on a basketball team is balance. Offense/defense, inside/outside. That team, and usually the best teams, have balance. They don't have great deficiencies where they can be exploited. This team(and last year's) have great imbalances. We can and will be exploited and the most unsettling thing seems to be that when I look long term at next year's incoming recruits I don't see anyone there that will go very far towards correcting that imbalance! As a side note I find it interesting that the three seasons before Crean had Zeller his team's struggled, the two years since Zeller has been gone his team's have/are/will struggle...I think Cody brought a lot more to the table than some people realized...and Crean better find another Zeller!

    could Hanner make a layup?
  15. sometimes he's just stirring up s#+t for listeners! Lol
  16. I'd love to have Donovan but I agree with you that it's probably a pipe dream!
  17. I'd much rather have him than Stevens,TBH.
  18. thought he did a pretty decent job all around.
  19. thought one of the key moments was when the Hoosiers had the lead and Hoetzel took a terrible shot early in the clock on one trip then on the next trip made a terrible, unforced turnover! Just seemed to totally swing the momentum.
  20. serious(not sarcastic, lol) question for you and others. Do you really think Donovan would consider leaving Florida for IU? if he would I think we ought to be on the phone with him immediately, now...Like by 12:15...every day...EVERY DAY...EVERY, EVERY, EVERY DAY!!!
  21. I love all three of those. Hadn't heard anyone else mention Manning. Not sure he'd leave Wake. That's in his growing up area.
  22. unfortunately,I think you're correct.
  23. some of the first things I learned. Stay between your man and the basket, see your man and the ball at all times, put your butt into your man when a shot goes up...just a start and we do none of them! Or so it seems

Going to be a long season

I agree with most of what you say but when did we start defining ourselves by statements such as...we're not as bad as Penn State or Rutgers? Good help us!
