  1. Right now the are a lot of unknowns (Romeo, grad trans, incoming frosh, etc) and variables (improvement of Smith, Green, and others) but I think they have the potential to be really good. I'm hoping at least.
  2. My bad then. I thought I had read he would have two years. Similar to Zeisloft.
  3. Not so sure it wouldn't be better. I know most won't think so but I like the idea of Taylor being at IU two years. I think an athletic big to help inside would be huge.
  4. They look turrible! In their defense, I'm not sure Villanova can be stopped if they're gonna shoot like that!
  5. He's like most in the media. He's big into self- promotion.
  6. Is the anyone alive who remembers when Vandy played well?
  7. He says whatever he thinks is going to make people upset and most importantly to him, get them to call his show. That's what most sports radio host do.
  8. Maybe our definition of ok is different, lol. I certainly don't feel Mack is a poor coach. I'm not sure he will do any better than Padgett. Maybe I should have further elaborated in my original comment that I don't feel Mack is an accomplished enough coach that a recruit of Romeo's status would consider Louisville now. Your earlier comment about Archie? I was a little letdown when he was hired but not terribly. I will say that after his first season and I'm optimistic.
  9. I stated in my earlier comment that I felt he was an ok coach but not outstanding. I personally felt Padgett did a pretty good job of holding things together this year considering all the turmoil Around the program. I believe I read they're giving Mack 4 mil per for seven years. This whole thread is about the recruitment of Romeo. Some seem to think he'd consider Louisville now that Mack will be the coach. Can't say that I believe I see anything in Mack's track record that would change a recruits mind and make him consider a program that is going to struggle for a few years.
  10. His comment was in reply to my statement that I thought Mack was an ok coach but not outstanding. I never stated I thought they could do better but i was a little surprised they gave him 4 mil for seven years. I'm not sure I believe he'll do any better than Padgett would've.
  11. That's a less than .700 winning percentage. It's ok but not outstanding in my opinion. I'd be curious to know. What's their record in the tournament? How many times have they lost to a lower seed? He's gonna have a tough row to hoe in the ACC.
  12. Let him go. If he's happy with what he's seen out of Drew and Vandy? He's probably aiming a little lower than what Archie is. I'm ready for this to be over.
  13. I'm a little surprised Louisville hired Mack. I live in the Cincy area and pay attention to both UC and Xavier. While I think Mack has done an ok job I can't say that I've thought him to be overly impressive.

    2018 NCAA Tournament Games

I'm not sure some coach's are willing to trust their players enough to open it up. They want to control and micromanage everything. Sometimes they're are so afraid of failure they aren't willing to go for success.

    Cutting the Cord

My brother-in-law has Spectrum and said overall he was pretty pleased. He did say it would "pause" occasionally but it wasn't a frequent problem. They also have Amazon Prime which they use frequently also. I'm trying to find the cheapest combination that will get me BTN, FoxSports Ohio, Golf channel, and preferably CBS (the Masters). I'm liking what I'm seeing of YouTube tv. I'm sick of paying cincy bell fioptics through the nose for tons of content I don't need or use. I know Spectrum isn't any better either.

    Cutting the Cord

I live just north of Cincy. I was just talking to my brother-in-law last weekend about switching to Sling. Who do you run your internet through to support YouTubetv? And what type of internet speed do you need? I'm thinking of switching to Spectrum for my internet.

    Cheaney Interview

Calbert always has seemed to be such a classy individual. I'd love to see him back at IU in some capacity.
  18. I would be shocked and disappointed if Juwan is basing a very important decision in his life on what a teenage kid in High School, that he has virtually no relationship with, is gonna do.

I'm not saying I disagree with you. I'm just not sure that it could be enforced. I like the model that baseball uses which is very similar to what you're proposing. MLB has a much better developed farm system than the NBA though and I'd say that's somewhat by design on the NBA's. Saves them quite a large expense. I believe I read that Bryce Harper quit high school, obtained his GED, then went to a JUCO at the age of 17. I believe that after one year of JUCO he went to the MLB draft. It allowed him to get collegiate experience but enter the draft at 18. I've wondered before if any high school basketball players have considered this tactic.

    Corruption in College Basketball

Read an article on ESPN where Stan VanGundy was ripping the NCAA and calling it a terrible organization that was corrupt. He said that the "one and done" was racist. All I could think was "Hey Stan. Ya know that one and done was perpetrated by the NBA which you're a part of, right?" The NBA doesn't care at all and neither does the NCAA.

I think enforcement of this would end up being almost impossible.

If I'm not mistaken, aren't the universities the ones getting paid right now off the players likeness? I'm asking this question because I'm not sure how that works presently. If the universities are the ones getting the funds and then those funds are used to finance other sports? There's going to be quite a bit of dissatisfaction when those funds are no longer available to finance sports that do not pay their own way.

My thoughts exactly every time they have their ESPY show and everyone fawns over Jimmy V! I said this in a comment yesterday. The media is so freaking hypocritical and uses their forum to gloss over what they want to and expose what they want to! They speak of the "passion" of UK fans and totally ignore the corruption of that program through the years! Point shaving, racism, envelopes of cash to recruits. John Wooden was a god and UCLA was a dynasty... in great part due to the fact Sam Gilbert was buying the best players in the country for him! Rick Pitino was an out of this world coach and master motivator... with an assistant coach throwing stripper parties a block or so away for recruits and another giving bribes for recruits! It's kinda easy to be awesome when it's not a level playing field.

I'm not so sure they shouldn't. They've made their pitch. Let him decide and come to them if he wants. If not then move on.
