    College Bball Thread

I'm not going to rehash what happened 8-10 years ago but there is a whole lot more to the story of why it took so long for IU to rebound and it is not all Crean's fault. Those discussions were tired and worn out back when Crean was still here let alone now. Yet, some can't go a week without interjecting Crean into any discussion. Some behave almost as though Crean wronged them personally and others seemingly are constantly on the lookout for something to complain about.

Seems about right. Apparently we are revising history to fit the current narrative about the past as well as inventing facts to support the current narrative about the present. Current, past, neither really matter just so long as the narrative can be pushed and the whining can continue.
  3. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere recently that Stewart wanted to commit before his senior season starts.

    (2019) CG Jahmius Ramsey

Well, Lubbock in early September is probably better than Lubbock in July or August but that is pretty academic and about the nicest thing I can say about it.

I get what you are saying and agree to a point. It is pretty clear though that the purpose was promotion/hype of the program and people are acting like the truth has never been stretched a bit before while promoting a college basketball team.

Lol, you're taking this entirely too seriously. The NBA combine is almost as pointless as this discussion and their rules are entirely arbitrary but if it makes you feel better to consider the tweet and video deceptive knock yourself out.

While awesome is not exactly the term I would choose to describe this discussion, I agree it doesn't matter in the least. Besides it is called maximum vertical, not maximum vertical in three or less steps.
  8. Yes, Archie is trying to build a team not just collecting talent and thanks to the way he has built things so far Brooks is a luxury(though one I would definitely prefer to have) not a necessity. Archie will land talented players that fit, where they come from is far down the list of importance. "Locking down the state" was an unrealistic fantasy back when recruiting was mostly regional, in the current state of recruiting it borders on lunacy. I'm confident Archie will land the lion's share of those homegrown kids he prioritizes but he will certainly lose some and many more simply won't be good fits.

Well, this is a bit uncomfortable.

Anyone think this story is written if Romeo chooses to go to Kansas or Vandy?

    2019 PF Oscar Tshiebwe

That's probably about right..... he looks about 20 years younger than Oden did when he graduated high school.

    2019 PF Oscar Tshiebwe

He's almost certainly far better than Hanner, however, it looks like a lot of his performance is due to his superior physical maturity. He is basically a college ready man playing against high school boys. I'm not sure how well/quickly his game will translate when he is playing against guys as big and strong as he is.
  12. No offense intended to Ryan Taylor but isn't he on his 3rd school now in 4 years? Taking a little more time to decide might have been beneficial for him however, it is doubtful anyone was going to be holding a scholarship open for him like they would for Romeo. Romeo, or anyone of his level that is guaranteed to have a scholarship whenever they decide, would be foolish to announce the decision any earlier than they have to.
  13. Normally I would agree with the first statement but in this recruitment, no one knows anything for certain where Romeo is going. No one on this site. No one on that site. No one outside of immediate family. All of which makes the insistence of others on having a wee wee measuring contest between sites even more ridiculous. The little tidbits that some get are fun to try to interpret and speculate about but are at best nothing more than snapshots in time and largely useless without real context.
  14. He got housing at each school just to keep everyone guessing.

    2018 NCAA Tournament Games

Arizona's offense if faster too and has better talent but they still have the same problem of losing early in the tournament.
  16. This. I would be much less surprised about Romeo going to Vandy than I would Rakestraw knowing about it before hand. From what I've heard from Greg previously he is all in on Butler and is not likely to have a clue with anything IU related.
  17. Speaking of that photo, Crean was routinely memed due to goofy facial expressions caught at weird moments but considering that is a posed photo and how goofy Miles looks in it, I'm surprised someone hasn't come up with some better memes of him yet.
  18. In order to get this thing back out of the wee... well, back into the topic related weeds anyway: DG is the AD and PM that is sending RL to VU. RL is going to IU guaranteed. Insert comment mocking the above. Nike and Addidas are both steering RL away from IU. Someone's brother's girlfriend's hairdresser's husband who is big shot in southern Indiana heard that RL to IU was a done deal. Someone on Peegs said...... No one should bring info from Peegs....... or anywhere else. Insert complaint about all of the above. Above all don't accept that no one really knows anything and continue reading tea leaves. Did I leave any out?
  19. It's not worth it, there are quicker, less painful ways to poison yourself if Romeo goes to Vandy.
  20. Yes, Nebraska wins one detraction to 5.
  21. Thanks for the reminder, I forgot to mention that food sucks in Chicago too. I'm not sure why anyone would make a hotdog out of beef and then adulterate it with all that unnecessary crap let alone rave about it like it is a good thing. And then there's the tasteless, cheap cut of beef on soggy bread that they also seem to think is some kind of delicacy.
  22. That's the beauty of it though, the grass doesn't really grow, tumbleweeds aren't that far east yet so there is even more time to have pointless arguments on the internet.
  23. Parts of NW Nebraska does look a lot like SW Wyoming but those are photos are from Scottsbluff and the Toadstool National monument in Nebraska.
  24. I'm sorry, somebody has to I guess but better you than me.
  25. You did a decent job illustrating at least the surface of the festering s-hole. But unfortunately you chose to illustrate the stereotype instead of the scenery of Nebraska:
