Guess we would have to ask whoever started the topic

dalton26 I believe you are misinterpreting the question. It doesn't state that you can't go to IU for just 1 year, it says "Play one season in college and jump to the NBA". The first option is to go to IU for all 4 years.

I head to Bloomington for one year and bring home a national title before being the top pick in the upcoming draft. China is intriguing for the obvious money concept, but how does dominating a bunch of nobody's improve your draft stock? Other than the $, it doesn't do anything for me. Now if you were to replace the word "China" with "overseas", I might have picked that, as playing over in Europe could be much more beneficial than in China with better competition. Although even then, players who have gone overseas for a year haven't panned out yet (Jennings, Tyler, etc.) so that option worries me some. If I'm good enough to be a top 5 pick in the NBA, there's no way I'm staying 4 years, so that option wasn't heavily considered.

Yeah Wayne when I read your post I thought it was about the same expectations I had, just a few small changes. -

I'm in this one already (which is fine), but if you decide to start an NFL.com one and need an extra guy, let me know.
-
I'm with you CR3AMnCR1MS0N, I think NFL.com is easily the best, with Yahoo probably second and ESPN last, but as you guys said I started out on NFL.com so I was more used to that.

I'm down for a free league also

(2014) LB Nile Sykes to IU
Crimson and Cream replied to HoosierReb01's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Great day for IU FB, we get a 3 star LB and another QB that helps with our depth issues at the position. I've never been this excited about IU football before, this is awesome. -
If we at least make the NIT I would be pleasantly surprised. NCAA not out of the question, but it depends on a lot of things going our way, mostly with player development. Excuse me if I'm not feeling the most optimistic after last season.

Kelley nailed it, Burton and Ritchie obviously being walk-ons, which currently leaves us with 11 scholarship players, and Hartman could miss several months, if not the entire season. So we only have 10 scholly players available, and 5 of them are freshman.

Peter Jurkin leaves Indiana
Crimson and Cream replied to Will_Padgman's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Feel bad for how it went here with Peter, seemed like a real good kid with the worst of luck. Good luck to him in his future endeavors, wherever they lead him. From a basketball standpoint, it was the best solution for both sides. Would be neat for him to have a similar ending to his career as Mo Creek. -
6'4" Guard Nick Zeisloft joins Hoosiers
Crimson and Cream replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
My thoughts on this are similar to most of you. As long as it's for 1 year, I'm all for it. No he isn't a very talented player, pretty similar to AE. But I would rather use the scholly than to not use it at all, and as others have pointed out he could be a great practice player, he has plenty of college experience, and is a very smart kid off the court. Would represent IU well, and would be a good teacher for the young players. Yes it's a bit of a shame that's it's gotten to this point where we are settling for less than average MVC players to fill out our roster, but that doesn't mean just lie down and give up. Take what you can get for a year and I see it as a no-lose situation. Tell me how it can possibly hurt us? -
Tre unhappy at Illinois State?
Crimson and Cream replied to lucel15's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Is it even possible for him to transfer back here? I know that's not necessarily what he's saying, just curious. -
UCONN just proved that you don't necessarily need offense from your bigs to succeed in the NCAA. What their bigs DID give them, however, was good defense and good rebounding. If Perea, April, and Davis can give us those 2 things, I'm confident that our guards and wings can score enough to get us the W.
-
For now I would have to agree. Would be nice for Perea to prove us wrong though.
-
I don't see Priller getting much time, but I think April will be forced into some action as Perea's backup due to him being the only other big man we have (unless you count DD, but I doubt he sees much time at the 5).
-
April is a true big man, and Priller also has good size (I believe he's 6'9). I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt Jurkin ever sees the court this year, except for maybe a few garbage minutes at the end of a blowout.

Dang that stinks, I guess I'll have to keep my posts to non-replies for the time being.
-
PC. I just hit "quote" for the person I want to reply to right?
-
Quick question that anyone can answer. I'm new here (posting wise), and when I go to reply to someone else the post I'm replying to doesn't show up on my screen once I've replied. Is that some kind of glitch?
-
Try getting up and walking around on it a little, it's probably just asleep.

The thing is, our shooters aren't JUST shooters. We don't have any Matt Roth type guys who can only shoot (not hating on Matt), except for possibly Hoetzel. Yogi, JBJ, and Robert are all overall scorers, they are all more than capable at penetrating if their shot isn't falling. And if Troy and Stan have improved their 3 point shooting to at least make defenders respect them that will make us even more dangerous.

Dante Exum says he would have been a Hoosier in college
Crimson and Cream replied to Josh's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Ouch. This hurts about as much as the Josh Smith saga. I almost wish he wouldn't have even said this haha. -
Really excited about Troy and Stan. I expect both to start again this year and hopefully they both have been busy this summer (I'm sure they have been). A decent 3 point shot could do wonders for both, as well as cutting down on the TO's, which I feel will be helped more with a year of experience now under their belts.
