There are definitely some subtle changes even from the 76,81,and 87 uni's. The font is different, the color red is slightly different, the IU on the shorts is different. The 1953 and the 1940 jersey's are noticeably different, and that's why I hope we wear one of those two.
-
I really hope they do the Bobby Slick Leonard Uniforms. The other Nat'l Championship Uni's are already so similar as to our design now, but the 1953 really looks Old School and I think they'd look really cool, plus I think it's sweet that we can pay homage to the old IU teams with their jerseys.

Hoosier Transfers and Recruiting Targets
Lt. John McClaine replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
He's your classic tweener, but he likes to play offense out on the perimeter. For us he would play the 4 alongside Hanner or whoever is playing our Post Position. He is big and strong, and was not utilized much at Duke, albeit he was in the rotation, he was the only player in the Duke Rotation that was not a McD's All American. I think he'd do very well for a team like Indiana. -
Hoosier Transfers and Recruiting Targets
Lt. John McClaine replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Morgan is very good at rebounding and Defense, O.G. is also said to be good at Defense and boasts over a 7 foot wingspan, however the size that intrigues me is a Senior Hanner, a Junior Devan, and a Soph Holt. We finally have depth at forward and should be able to play 2 forwards together at once on the floor rather than a bunch of wings and Hanner or Holt. I've said before that I think that Hanner is doing a pretty good job so far this year, and I think that he'd be much more effective if he had another forward to play alongside him because I think he'd be able to help weak side and block a lot more shots and be in a better position to get more rebounds. -
Ok we get it. Apparently you think if he stayed at IU for four years he would have developed more? Or are you saying that he should of stayed at IU just so we would have had a chance to win another Conference Championship? I guess I fail to see your point even bringing up Cody Zeller on this particular thread. Not trying to be a D*ick but the whole Cody should be a Senior or Noah should be a Soph is a very weak argument. Turnover is rampant among College Teams, do you say the same thing for Michigan with the amount of players they've had go Pro over the past seasons? If their players stayed then they'd be a shoe in for the Confernce Title.

Hoosier Transfers and Recruiting Targets
Lt. John McClaine replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I know a lot can still play out. I like the idea of having a lot of core players back next year to go along with some potential Senior Leadership. We have a lot of depth, particularly 3's and 4's that could cause a lot of matchup issues for teams. -
The main reason Crean will get fired.

Thanks for your amazing insight, man. Your insight on Crean's post play philosophy is truly unbelievable. Thanks again. -
Hoosier Transfers and Recruiting Targets

Having no Seniors on this team, makes me even more excited for next years team. On Paper we are loaded at a lot of spots, and we will finally have size. Next year could be Crean's best defensive team he's had while at Bloomington. -
Savannah State Post Game Thread
Lt. John McClaine replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yea I was actually shocked watching him run back on defense. I was expecting a lumbering player, but he can move, and his little bounce pass dime he threw to Troy on the baseline was very nice. He might be a project but I've seen much much worse. -
Savannah State Post Game Thread

Our backcourt played very nice. Yogi, Rob, and JBJ were able to do their thing the whole game. Emmitt Holt is becoming a fan favorite and he deserves it. He is an energy player that plays under control, has nice hands, good footwork, and a nose for the ball. He's not very big for a Power Forward, but he's very effective especially for the minutes that he gets. Hanner was Hanner, he is what he is, and I don't mean that in a bad way. He can get put back dunks and alter shots on Defense, but on Offense you can't just throw him the ball and expect him to do much with it, even against the likes of teams like Savannah State. Luckily though, the team does not try to force feed him the ball, and Hanner seems to be comfortable on the court, but he's just not a very good Offensive Player. Troy is getting better, he can rebound and he can run the floor. He still plays out of control, and I absolutely hate it when he goes off of one leg and shoots a runner in traffic. It never works and it ALWAYS leads to a fast break for the other team. He's a very good base line player, and I have no problem with him being a starter, but I would like to see him understand that he can pull the ball back out instead of going 1 vs 3, and I would like to see him lose the runner that he uses and in its place either pass the ball or use a jump stop or utilize a head fake, but his runner very rarely works. Stan played maybe his best game, he was under control and was setting up his teammates and he was taking smart shots. Collin had his usual game, he hit a jumper, made the extra pass, and was scrappy on Defense. Nick Zeisloft continues to impress and he has a very quick trigger, I would be totally fine with Nick getting more minutes, he is also an underated Defensive player, many times he crashes the boards against bigger players and gets the ball. Max Hoetzel played the worst game of any player on the team. He was completely out of control, a total ball hog, awful on Defense, and had several unforced turnovers. He was making me very mad, and chances are he angers his teammates because at this point he is not a smart Offensive basketball player. I have no problem with him sitting on the bench and Colin and Nick eating up his minutes. Jeremiah April actually looks like he'll be able to help us some nights. He's not a stiff like I thought he was, he can actually get up and down the court pretty well for a big guy. He also dropped a dime for Troy on the baseline. He could actually become a rotational player for us. Big Tim Priller is a great guy, but completely over matched, especially Defensively. I don't see how he's gonna get minutes this year, and I'm totally fine if he does not. -
Hoosier Transfers and Recruiting Targets

Watched some of the Butler game yesterday, and I saw Austin play. He looks exactly the same as I remember him. I don't even know if Crean would play him this year if he remained on the team. I can't think of anyone that I'd want Austin playing over. I'm glad he's dominating over at Butler though, you know the Butler way. :D -
Hoosier Transfers and Recruiting Targets

I wonder how tall lil Watford will end up...? Right now in that video he handled the rock more than I ever saw his brother while at IU, not to say that C Wat couldn't dribble, because he could but he didn't do it too much while attacking the basket, more to bring the ball up if our point guard was covered or to create space for that Wet Jumper of his. -
Hoosier Transfers and Recruiting Targets
Lt. John McClaine replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I completely agree! Also, it allows you to see who the real fans are of the College game, you know guys that can actually give you names of players on other teams, rather than the slaps that have no idea what they're talking about yet they complain about our players, which are the only players they know in the College Game. -
Anunoby and Morgan
Lt. John McClaine replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
YES! For the love of God let's relax everyone. Everyone knows how you feel, but this thread is specifically about our two new signees that both offer us some size and versatility for next year. The same people that question these recruits are the same ones that say I told you so when they end up having great games as Freshmen. Not trying to be a d*ck, but let's just leave Crean critiquing off of one thread. -
The State of our program- How do you guys feel about it?
Lt. John McClaine replied to Banksyrules's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yea i'm totally fine with our Soccer Program, Todd Yeagley is a very good coach. -
I remember when Henderson got hurt in 93 we brought a football player in for depth, Ross Hales or something like that. Also in the mid 90's there was another football player that played for us, he was a quick guard that never scored, (Jean Paul) or something like that, then of course Antwaan Randle El and James Hardy. I remember Antonio Gates was rock solid his one year at Kent St. and Julius Peppers was a load in the post at UNC

I'M TIRED OF IU SUCKING!!!!!
Lt. John McClaine replied to davewood's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I just can't believe we've fallen off so bad since Victor and Cody left. I really want Coach Crean to make it happen, but I honestly feel that the Sweet 16 teams that he had might be the pinnacle of his career while at Indiana. Fred Glass has also seemed to be a guy that I like, and I know that he's got a tough job as well, but I just don't see how he can keep Crean after another season of not making the tournament. I know that we have a lot of Season left before it's all said and done, but I've seen nothing thus far that would lead me to believe that this a team that can reach the tournament much less make any noise in it. I appreciate how Fred Glass has given Coach Crean a lot of loyalty, but is it worth it if holding on to a Coach too long gets your fired? -
IU vs UNC-Greensboro Game Thread

I always wondered what happened with Roshown. They kept his dismissal pretty quiet. He was supposed to have some East Coast Connections but he never really produced any recruits for us and then he was gone. -
Revised Season Expectations
Lt. John McClaine replied to KelleyHoosh's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I really hate being a small team, it just reminds me so much of the last years of the Mike Davis tenure where we made average teams look so strong because we couldn't stop them in the post. I just don't think that we should ever be this outmanned at a particular position. It's such a slow painful death when teams abuse us every possession by getting high percentage looks, or drawing a foul against us. I just hope that we can learn to play an effective Zone Defense to slow teams down and create turnovers. Our man to man defense is a lil rough too. -
Revised Season Expectations
Lt. John McClaine replied to KelleyHoosh's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I hate looking ahead, but next year's team has a lot of talent, and it's balanced talent. We actually have a lot of depth in the Front Court next year. Juwan Morgan, Hanner Parea, Emmit Holt, OG Anunoby, Troy Williams, and maybe even Devin Davis. That's a lot of depth for what appears to be our weakness this year. Plus some capable guards coming back. Like I said, I hate looking forward when the Season just started, but we look to be a pretty tough team, next year. -
IU vs Lamar Post Game Thread
Lt. John McClaine replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
If we are going to play Zone Defense then it has to be much much more active. Our 2 guys on the perimeter never rotate fast enough, never have active hands, they just kind of stay in a lil area and hope for the best. I feel that we will have to implement a Zone Defense this year because we are the size of a MAC Conference team in the frontcourt, but if we want to have success then our Zone Defense has to be tightened up. I think that our offense has shown a lot of improvement, but unless our Defense improves, then that will be our glaring weakness all year. It just looks to me that we have not practiced our Defensive Fundamentals near as much as our Offense, and if I was the Coaching Staff then I would be dedicating a lot of time to teaching how to play an effective Zone Defense, and how to play affective Transition Defense, and how to play positional Defense under the basket without fouling. I'd start with that. -
Dude you need to chill out. You say Holt and April were brought in late because they were supposed to be ready to jump right in and contribute. LOL that's news to me. They're Freshman bro, we've already got 2 in the starting lineup. April will not play many minutes if at all. This was Holt's first game. They're not the Fab 5!
