Now that thons off the board for this season
Lt. John McClaine replied to drewheck's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I completely agree, Rebel, it's definitely how Coach Crean rolls. I get all the Burton love, but that's not gonna happen and i'm not gonna get my panties in a bunch if IU fills the last Scholly with a guy that none of us have heard of. Because most likely that's exactly what's gonna happen, and it's most likely gonna be a Guard since we only have 4 on the roster which is crazy if you think about it since Crean is a Guard heavy coach. -

I'm not gonna talk too much crap since the Beech Grove Walmart in our lovely state just made national news. -

I guess I'm still confident that we'll find a player that can help us. -
The NBA Draft is coming up quick.
Lt. John McClaine replied to FindEndNow's topic in National Basketball Association
I doubt Kawhi would be the player for us that he is with the Spurs, plus we already had Granger and just drafted Paul George and needed a point guard. I don't look back on that trade too much and consider it a loss. -

Not trying to take jabs at him, just saying that he's not a good player. If i was taking jabs at him, i'd get my money's worth a lot more than saying he was not a good player for us. -
Mock Draft Update
Lt. John McClaine replied to FindEndNow's topic in National Basketball Association
If we draft Turner, he won't get much run for a few years. He's very soft at this point, and would much rather shoot jumpers than even attempt to gain position down low. I don't want any part of him for the Pacers. I want Cameron Payne at guard, if he's gone then I'd be happy with Cauley Stein if available, Stanley Johnson from Zona, or even Trey Lyles. -

Careful, some people on here are under the impression that Etherington was a good player and was given a raw deal. How'd he do at Butler last year, again? -

I agree man, while it's a nice gesture and it looks good in the Newspaper, we need to use this scholarship for a good player, not a walkon player that's a good guy. Believe it or not, there's still players out there that can help us, and I think we need another guard. If one of our 4 guards gets hurt then we're in real trouble. -
The NBA Draft is coming up quick.
Lt. John McClaine replied to FindEndNow's topic in National Basketball Association
Miles Plumlee ended up being a pretty decent player, though, man. He was on the Sophomore team at the All Star game, was a fan favorite in Phoenix, and is a solid 5 man/energy player. Kind of like a Jeff Foster kind of player with the Pacers. I like everything Larry has done except Shawne Williams. The Hansbrough pick did kind of suck though, but I along with many other thought he'd be better than what he is. His jump shot is so weak and he shoots it so weird, if he had even a serviceable jumper then he'd be so much better, but as it stands now, Tyler kinda falls into the Goon Category. -

Find End Now, did you really take the time to do this Mock Draft or did you just copy and paste somebody else's that you think is on point? If you did take the time to do it, well thanks, that's a lot of work. And even though you drive me crazy, that's still a lot of work to and I appreciate it. I'm sure the board does too. I always liked the NBA Draft, mainly because of my love for the College Game, and the fact that I've heard of the majority of the players that are entering it, except for the International players. I've been researching the draft for some time now, and I really can't remember one that is so up in the air after about the 4th pick. I'm really only concerned with the Pacers, and if I had to choose who they like and who they'll pick, I'd say that they're gonna go with Cameron Payne out of Murray State. The Pacers are in desperate need of a point guard because CJ Watson won't be back and Donald Sloan is typically your 3rd point guard on a roster. I suppose that they could go big because there's a need because David West is 34 and Roy Hibbert is just not good. If we do go big then I'd really like us to grab Trey Lyles or Frank Kamiskey. I really don't want us to pick Miles Turner out of Texas because to me he is Roy Hibbert 2.0. -

Lt. John McClaine replied to Hutch89's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I still don't know why Coach Crean would reward the biggest pot head on the team, in Hollowell, with a starting spot. That would set an awful precedent in my opinion. What are the members supposed to think when a guy with a piss poor work ethic, and a penchant for getting high all the time, gets a starting spot over them when they're working their ass off? You also incite that Coach Crean misused Hollowell from offset. That's interesting because Hollowell was played all over the court. He started with backing up Watford in our Offense, only problem is he couldn't shoot a lick. Then his Sophomore year, he was used as more of a ball handler in our offense and that worked out pretty nice because he led the team in turnovers. I'm not trying to be an ass or anything, but I just don't see what you see in regards to Jeremy. -

For Real, man. I'm really starting to think that this FindEndNow dude is some sort of Troll or the Ultimate Devil's Advocate. I never ever call people out on this board but after reading his last couple posts I am beyond confused at what he sees. So if Jeremiah April was our best Post Player, and Jeremy "420" Hollowell should of been starting his Freshman year, does that mean that Peter Jurkin was also the next coming of DJ White? I'm so confused. -
What should be the biggest focus for players and coaches this offseason?

What the heck are we talking about here? Jeremiah April as our best Post player? Really? I hope you're not serious. Nobody knows anything about April, really, after his year in Bloomington. We only know that he had a garbage basket or two, was tall, and uh..... I don't see how anyone could get the impression that April garnered more playing time based off of the small sample size that he had. Are we questioning Tom Crean now on how April was somehow robbed out of minutes? Let's please not make a big deal over Jeremiah Freakin April. -

Cmon man, you can't tell me Yogi didn't try on Defense, or even Rob J. -
What depth chart would you like to see now?
Lt. John McClaine replied to FindEndNow's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
He also said, "but that could change overnight." I assume that we'll pick up another guard to add to our depth. It's hard to imagine a Tom Crean team only has 4 scholarship guards on it. I highly doubt that we bank the scholarship. -
What depth chart would you like to see now?
Lt. John McClaine replied to FindEndNow's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I agree, and I like your optimism. I said it all last year, Max Hoetzel was by far and away our worst defender. I think he got beat baseline every game that he played. You could tell that he had never really had to play top notch Defense in High School or AAU, and I'm not saying that he could not have improved it, but IU losing him was the least of my worries. Something keeps telling me that when Crean uses his last scholarship this year, and I'm sure that he will, that he'll go after a wing player so we can have another option, especially if someone out of our 4 guards gets injured. -
UM Graduate Transfer Max Bielfeldt To IU
Lt. John McClaine replied to rebelhoosier848891's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I hope Max can be our enforcer and just toughen up what seemed to be one of the softest Indiana teams that I can remember last year. He doesn't have to be all Bill Laimbeer out there, but just a guy that will give us more of a Veteran Front Court and a tougher identity. -

That's what I got too, and it makes me think with us starting 3 guards, and with really only Nick Z on the bench, I think that we'll bring in another guard, from somewhere, with our last Scholarship. -

UM Graduate Transfer Max Bielfeldt To IU
Lt. John McClaine replied to rebelhoosier848891's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yea I agree, man. Do you want to finish in the bottom half of the B1G your last year of playing Collegiate basketball or have a legit chance to win the B1G and pay back the team that didn't offer you a scholarship your Senior year? To me it's a no brainer, but what do I know, I'm a crazy IU fan that overreacts at everything. -
2015 #IUBB Offseason Thread
Lt. John McClaine replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I was bored after work last night, so I put on the IU vs Pitt game where Holt had his best game of the year. He is an interesting player that could potentially carve out a nice role on this years squad. I really like his Old School game.
