I love stanford robinson's drive to the hoop, looks so smooth. You're right though, if he can extend the defense with a better long-range shot, he'll be able to open up his own driving lanes and take 'em.

OT-Cal Interview on Dan Patrick Show-Talks About One and Done
Hutch89 replied to CampHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yeah, feel like he's looking out for himself, which I can't blame him for. But seriously feel fortunate that our program at least tries to make it seem like we care about the academics of athletes haha. One thing though, he isn't letting what people think about his recruiting style get in the way of him winning, he's a win at all costs guy. Some people enjoy, some people hate. I just think his style is way more suited for NBA. -
B1G Players Declaring for the Draft/Graduating

Ah, probably a good move on hammonds part. Man, purdue would have been more helpless than the hoosiers this year without him. -
Dang, so lucky. I'd be bathing in "Breakfast Buddies" from Wright.

(2015) PF Alex Illikainen to Wisconsin
Hutch89 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Any chance Alex might still be interested in Cal now that Cuonzo Martin is HC there? Not sure if that's a deal breaker for him or not, but could be nice to cross one off his list of potentials and give IU a better chance of getting a LOI from him... -
(2014) SF Josh Cunningham to Bradley

Tijan Jobe, almost forgot about that guy. and that's a good list, i'd agree that HMP is not yet a miss. We'll see soon enough. -
I don't know a lot of the pros and cons for paying student athletes, but just on the surface to me it seems like a good idea that could go very very wrong. Paying the college athletes in the 6 digits could potentially change the college sports landscape (as g_hi_c said above). IMO, I think the players should make enough to be comfortable at school and have some spending money (if they need it), something like 50K to 100K... What do you all think? Could paying huge salaries be detrimental to the sport we all love? or could the 50K to 100K salary solve many of the issues and pressures the ncaa is feeling from it's student athletes?

Kenny Johnson to Louisville

Kenny's a Maryland Alum as well. So they've got that as leverage in getting him. -

Would Crean leaving put IU in a worse state of funk than we already are? We're barely clinging to recruits as it is. If this does become a possibility, I would be worried about whatever talent we have left leaving for other programs. Would have to hire a heck of a coach to keep kids from leaving right away, and we could face a number of years with losing seasons. -

Apparently Stanford Robinson knows the 7-footer, Kingsley Okoroh? Just looked at Kingsley Okoroh's twitter and Stanford tweeted him only 19 hours ago saying... " @KingOkoroh congrats on the commit to Tennessee lil bro " So maybe Indiana will be on the radar for Okoroh. Feel bad for him that he committed yesterday, and today the coach goes somewhere else. I'd imagine that the Hoosiers would be much more alluring to him that the Vols, just based on PT and exposure. -
I like Lyles as a player, i'd be really disappointed to see him have reduced playing time. Even at UK, Trey is still from Indy and it's always nice to see some "natural-born" Hoosiers do well around the country. Would be more disappointed if his lack of playing time is because of his father dictating things, it seems like he is trying to live his past glory days through his son, never going to be good...

Are you saying those figures are for 1 year of playing? much more than I anticipated actually, but not difficult to imagine. I doubt that if players do unionize and start getting paid, that they would be allowed that much per year... I imagine things would start off small, around 50K-100K per year per player, but then it could easily gain momentum and get up to the figures you all are thinking the players are worth. I could see paying the players as having a "run-a-way" effect in which the amount a player will receive will dictate where he will go to play in ncaa. This could really broaden the gap in talent between major programs and mid/minor programs. The majors would be able to offer the largest salaries, while the smaller programs get left in the dust because they could never afford the good players.

Based on some rumors that i'm sure everyone has heard, in which Coach CALAMARI might leave the UK program for the NBA... Just speculatively, if this were to come to fruition, what do you think the chances of Lyles coming back to IU for next season might be? I might be mistaken, but I believe players are able to withdraw their commitment even after signing if there is a coach change. No doubt that Lyles would get some good playing time at IU, but "nasty" tweets by our fanbase and the rumor brought to light by Dan Dakich may have sealed the deal on Lyles even making IU a possibility...

Isn't Darius Latham signed on to IU Football? Is it even an option for him to switch to bball? Probably wouldn't be the best decision for him, i'm assuming.
