Prediction League Game 15 (Week 9) IU vs Michigan State (01/05/15)
Hutch89 replied to Naturalhoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
DAAAAANG!! -
I wanna see yogi with a full on '70s Afro. Kick it old school. Add juwan, then sprinkle in holts flattop... We'll be thinking we're watching a hoosiers team from 1976
-
Welcome back man. Let's be looking forward

Someone posted awhile ago that the Hoosiers had the worst hair in the big ten.... Come now, Rutgers? Lookin like coolio out there! Props for uniqueness though

Holt will be a special player. I wonder how many teams might overlook him in their game preparations and scouting reports before playing us... Huge mistake for them if so -

Holt was definitely grimacing big time after that huge layup. But the guy got back and was in the zone on defense after that! -
Crean really harps on Hanner being consistent. Even Hanner himself says so in post game interviews. Boy, if he could make his last performance in Lincoln a consistent thing... Watch out! If Hanner can be a serious force and have double doubles or close through the rest of the year, Crean will deserve a big pat on the back and an ICY cold one. What a turnaround that would be from the start of this season.

I'm hoping we'll wear them during a game that's televised on ESPN or CBS, that way more people will be able to see them. Maybe Ohio St. on 1/25 or Wisconsin on 2/03 ?
-
Also, just bought my tix for the Ohio state game on 1/10! woohoo! Went for balcony seats, but got lucky and got a couple spots in the 1st row up there, heck of a view.

For sure. I'm going to get tickets to the Aces vs. Wichita St. game here in Evansville on 01/17. Should be good! If UE can beat the Shockers, then I think they'll be able to get into the tourney at the end of the season. Plus, those Shockers are just begging for an upset, they have too many close games against bad opponents.

The B1G play starts today for IU against the Cornhuskers in Lincoln, Nebraska. IU and Nebraska both have something to prove to their fans this afternoon, and should turn out to be a great game at an energetic home venue. GO HOOSIERS! From our Friends at Inside The Hall: What to Expect: Nebraska http://www.insidethehall.com/2014/12/30/what-to-expect-nebraska-5/ Projections have this game coming down to the wire. Vegas (UN 3.5 point favorite), Pomeroy (UN 1 point favorite), Sagarin (IU 2.5 point favorite)

UK has some other bigs lined up for next year, with a few of them looking to make decisions in the spring time. Obviously the huge talent pool there now shows that riding the bench doesn't deter them too much, but i'm curious to see what it looks like at the end of the season. Hopefully Thon likes all the attention on himself, and Matur (who looks to be excellent as well) is excited about the only offer he's received so far, from Indiana.

NV has been transferred to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the NBA D-League. http://www.insidethehall.com/2014/12/28/hornets-assign-noah-vonleh-nba-d-league/ Is this confirmation for some IU fans that NV had left the program prematurely? Or had him missing September of the NBA preseason (Hernia) the cause for him not performing up to his ninth draft pick potential? It's my opinion that he would have greatly benefited from another year in NCAA, as would any player, and having him rebound for us under the net would have sent this years team into overdrive. I'm looking forward to seeing him do well in the NBADL and get back to playing for the Hornets by next season.

Forgot to include this part... http://zagsblog.com/articles/thon-maker-set-to-make-reclassifying-decision-soon/ Per Thon's guardian - "We have heard from Kentucky and Kansas the most probably. But Indiana has been in there as well. Indiana, Kentucky and Kansas have been the ones that have been the most present, with Missouri in there also.”

Sure, KU football isn't as big as IU basketball.. and i'm curious if they really do generate more revenue. However, I would think that being the director of strength and conditioning for a football sized roster would definitely entail more salary for JJ, just based on the sheer number difference of student athletes that he would be responsible for. He's definitely a football guy and used to work for KU football for 5 years (just a bit longer than his tenure here at IU), so it's not like he isn't familiar with the place or some of the staff there. It probably feels a bit like coming home for him, who knows!
