You can’t compare their offense to Alabama and Villanova when those teams are both among the national leaders in three point attempts. Yes, they shot 37% from 3 but on low attempts. Yes they have an efficient offense but they were a dreadfully slow paced offense all year. When you limit possessions like they do it’s hard to score enough to win if you aren’t shooting so well. Not to mention the truly horrible rebounding numbers they have. (Edit: this is due to pace, I was incorrect). There is a reason the Virginia and Wisconsin’s of the world are so inconsistent.

How? No one wants to watch a dinosaur offense from a .500 coach that has made 2 tournaments in his entire coaching career. If that’s the best we can do then we might as well just give up.

Syracuse is a nightmare in the tourney. Teams don’t have time to game plan for the zone.

Talent is a huge factor. Last year the B1G had 1 first round pick (Jalen Smith), and 2 second round picks (Xavier Tillman and Cassius Winston). The only B1G players currently in the league that have been an all star are Oladipo, Draymond, and Mike Conley. They just don’t produce the same kind of talent other P5 conferences seem to lately. I’d love to go NBA assistant/former player route but I don’t think it’d be easy to get anyone. They tend to bide their time and try to get a head coaching job eventually.

Super diverse coaching background. Over 10 years of NBA coaching experience with a few of those as head coach. Coached in the g league and internationally before coming to college. Has won like 75% of his games in college so far. Former players have spoken highly of his player development. Big personality.

I really think some of you guys need to look at this situation critically. Brad Stevens owes IU nothing. We did nothing to get him to where he is now. He did that himself. He made a critical decision about his future and his family’s future and used IUs pursuit of him to better that future. I don’t see anything wrong with that. But people on here have to stop acting like what they say is 100% the truth and that anything any other media member says on Twitter is wrong and that they must secretly hate IU. It’s insane. These guys get stuff wrong, just like every other “insider”. Stop taking everything as Gospel just because they post it on here and you want it to be true.
