hhahahahahahaha.....but yes..

True...

IF there were a presser today announcing BD, then he'd have to be there, right? Which would mean he is just bailing on tonight's OKC game..that seems a stretch.
-
please let it be so
-
Better not be a friggin presser today lol.

Its within the last 4-5 pages of the thread.

The 247 board still has Donovan being the guy. "Search firm" being a bit of a smokescreen for negotiations with Billy. I guess we'll know it is or isn't Billy within a couple weeks, given that our other likely candidates will be done in the tournament- if it's crickets then one could surmise we are waiting for the NBA playoffs to wrap up. --Mr. Obvious

Sports Illustrated Hit Piece on Indiana
Adillac replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Some valid points. -
My wish list in order: 1) Stevens 2) Donovan 3) Alford 4) Marshall
-
As soon as I read that IU returning to the elite was "unrealistic" I stopped reading.
-
I'm all for an Indiana guy but not if it's Woodson or Wittman

One more thing while im hot....what is this crap about "2 B1G titles in 5 years"...? Why are people framing the 2B1G titles in a 5 year period? If we discount the first 2 seasons...then that makes it 2 BiG titles in 7 years. Accuracy is a m*********er.
-
That quotation irks the crap out of me. All you had to do was win basketball games. It wasn't veiled or complicated and trust me, nobody wanted you to win games more than your employers. And yet in 4 of the last 7 seasons, you flirted with a .500 record and bottom half of the B1G. As you said, Tom "It's Indiana". IU gave you at least 6 years before the real heat started. You wanted more?
-
Good thing he has probably 10mil sitting in a retirement acct earning 7%. Cry me a river...
-
I don't know if theyre scared, they are just so accustomed to how its been for 25 years. Can't blame them too much i guess.
-
I believe the 247 sources before DD..
-
Davis for 5-6 years made sense...create a buffer post-knight and appease the current players. The big mistake was Sampson.

All this talk from the national media about IU being past its prime are ignoring how bluebloods are created and sustained- fan support (check) + facilities (check) + history (check) + budget (check) + COACH (and here we are). They are forgetting the nature of the CBB world: John Calipari would not be winning 80% of his games if he were coaching at Minnesota. If coach K retired and then resurfaced at South Carolina, he would not be winning another ring. Where you coach can matter as much as who is coaching. IU with a great coach is a powerhouse. We know this, IU admin knows this, but nobody else does, or believes it because it has been 25 years since we were. It's almost as if the talking heads are saying- How dare you strive to be the best?!
-
UCLA the greatest brand? Come on, Steve. That was 50 years ago.
-
If we're to believe anything Glass said today- Dane Fife won't the coach.
-
Wow...I really thought Glass's statements today were perfect- here is what we deserve and expect and by god we will have it- refreshing.

After watching the latest postgame comments from Crean- he has always and continues to just totally rely on the metric of "shots falling", particularly from 3pt land. When his teams shoot really well from 3 they succeed, when they don't they lose, a lot. Safe to say that most well coached teams do really well when they shoot a high % from 3 but they also do pretty well when they don't because they 1) play good D 2) don't turn the ball over 3) work for good shots inside the arc.....Crean teams do none of the 3 in consecutive games. smh.

I agree that Alford could very well come here and then bomb or be mediocre. However, I could see him being very successful, too. The former is not a foregone conclusion. I would rather have BD or Marshall, but I would rather have Alford than Bennett, Archie, or Collins. I think Alford could attract some serious talent. Again, I'm not pro Alford, but in the event he does come here, I won't be distraught. I will be hopeful.
