What if Cupps and Newton are very solid? You don't need 1 and done type talent at guard to make a deep run in the tourney. It helps ofc....Galloway gets an extra year if im not mistaken so we will have him as well. That's a potentially pretty good trio of guards right there plus sprinkle in a transfer or two.

You'd think with the success of JHS last year that IU would have landed a guard in the portal or from '24 class. Still time obviously, just a little surprising.

Not sold on the supposed shift of direction. I think it's a bunch of fluff. Wouldn't be surprised to see Fland announce for IU tomorrow. These interlopers on both sides are just carrying water for themselves. We shall see.

I agree. I think we just differ in how good we think Fland is.

My eyeballs tell me Queen is much more skilled than both of those players. I'd almost rather have Queen than Fland. I think Queen will be a fantastic stat stuffer guy. He's gonna gobble up rebounds and have tip ins and get a ton of easy buckets.

To me it feels like Boogie is gonna pick IU. A lot of dots on the plot: NY connection with Woodson, Melo, Liam calling him out by name on national TV, IU's dogged pursuit of him, Cuban on IG.....who knows though.

I remember the loss to Kansas the following year (i think)...that was a tough loss..

Not to mention IU is just as big a TV pull and media focus as UK despite IU's mediocrity in the tournament the last 20 years. So, it isn't that UK puts you in the spotlight more...that's not true either.

Unless you grew up loving UK basketball....hard to see the advantage of going there for boogie right now: IU can offer more NIL, Woodson is a proven NBA coach and just put a top 40 recruit into being almost a lottery pick..has Melo influence....Assembly Hall is amazing vs Rupp Arena which is literally a giant shoe box. At IU Boogie would have more responsibility and more focus. If you are a total outsider to IU and UK then I just don't see how UK is a better choice. OFC Im biased but honestly....name one objective thing that UK has over IU right now for Boogie.

What is football?

Ya I think Galloway is the heart of this team and next year's team. Cupps and Newton will potentially be a very solid backcourt with or without Boogie. Malik isn't going pro next year unless he has an awesome year. So he will probably be back. MM will leave probably and Ware too. I think next year's team could def be better than this upcoming season. Who knows really though I guess. If we get Liam and another 1-2 quality forwards/bigs...2024-2025 looks to be very good.
