We have 2 primary keys to the season. 1. A defense that can get off the field occasionally with a few stops. 2. A QB that lasts all year. Keith

Yogi Leaning towards leaving per multiple sources
KeithIUGrad89 replied to BriscoeShoemaker's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
In Yogi's case, it should be 100% though that he is coming back. Not a 50/50. Whoever is telling him to go is doing him a disservice! Keith -
No no no JBJ! Just say no to the draft. Your complete lack of defense wont fly well. Too streaky on shooting. Hopefully Pops will get in his ear and get him to return and develop his game more. Keith

Yogi Leaning towards leaving per multiple sources
KeithIUGrad89 replied to BriscoeShoemaker's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It will be a HUGE mistake if Yogi leaves. The kid is not really NBA material. Dribbles too much and doesn't finish as well as he needs to in the paint. He will be eaten alive in the NBA. Plus, I don't see him getting drafted in the 1st rd and probably not in the 2nd either. FAs don't make too many teams. Keith -
Look, I was upset with the way the team played D most of the game and missing the FT at the end was crushing. But, if the refs call the foul at the end of the half, we go in with a lead. Don't you think Yogi hits those 3 FTs, if the whistle blows?? Bottom line, Crean isn't going anywhere. The admins shouldn't give in to a noisy minority of the fan base. Crean does a good job and recruits well. Not his fault Fisher transferred mid year last year or that Devin Davis does a stupid act and gets a head injury. Our front line has been weak all year and the other teams have figured it out. Plus, Hanner was hurt and missed 6 games or so. Colin then got hurt and missed 3-4 games. Those are true issues and the HC cannot control that. Am I disappointed in the way the season has ended? Yup! But I also look at the predictions at the start of the year and it was a 10th place or so finish in the B1G and no NCAA. This team has done better than that and Crean should get some credit for adjusting his offense to the teams strength. Keith

B1G/ACC Challenge matchups out

Ought to be a good game. -
We needed some big guys and this is one. You cannot teach 7 feet. I just hope he continues to work hard. Need to be strong in the B1G. Keith

Indiana Rivals predicts us to finish 9th next season
KeithIUGrad89 replied to NotTheReal HoosierHoopster's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Having a young team does not equal a bad team or a sloppy team. UK starts 5 freshman and they are in the Final 4. Yes, many were highly touted, but where is the "leadership" on that team? I don't buy the "young team" excuse bc that is all it is. By the end of the year, these players aren't freshman anymore!!! Keith -
I thought Izzo and Crean were buddies.
KeithIUGrad89 replied to Banksyrules's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Friends does not mean they are recruiting buddies. Each has an obligation to their university to recruit and bring in the best talent they can for their school. Keith -
Go Redlegs!!!! Lifelong fan here since the days of Sparky, Bench, Rose, Morgan, Perez, Conception, Foster, Geronimo et al. Keith

I took it to refer to NV, but JH could fit the bill too. I don't see it being directed to Lee though. Keith

Eddie: Yes, I am a lawyer. BTW, when you use "your" in that instance, it is "you're" as in "you are a lawyer". "Your" means something one owns. Are you gonna call me a "grammar Nazi" now? I may take offense since I am German too! :) Keith

Look, I understand the criminal definition (I am a criminal defense attorney) very well. The origin of the word goes back to late 14th century as "to rob and plunder". Anyone that studies English and word origins knows there is a duel meaning for this word. That doesn't mean we need to remove it from the general vernacular of the English language! When used in the correct context, NO ONE should get upset or misunderstand it's meaning. Bobby wasn't trying to use it in the criminal/sexual way; he used it in it's original meaning. Keith

I never said you couldn't question his coaching moves/decisions. Lordy, did I yell at the TV enough this year with the strange (to me) substitutions. And last yr ag'st Syracuse, it looked like the kids never ever practiced ag'st a zone before. I still support CTC and MY University. Class of 1989! Keith

You people do know that the term "rape" has more than one meaning, right? It isn't just the criminal act. In fact, it means to pillage and rob long before it was termed/used in the context of a sex crime. Ergo, RMK used the term correctly in this context! Geez.........SMH Keith

Indiana Scholarships Matrix
KeithIUGrad89 replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
If the player's blood, sweat and tears were done wearing the Cream & Crimson for even 1 year, IMO they ought to get to make a "senior" speech. I also believe that if we know a player is not going to be back, they ought to get to thank the fans ie Victor and Cody last year. JMHO Keith -
Happy b-day Coach Crean! You have far more fans than critics and we have faith in you and the young men you will bring in to represent this fine University! Don't let the fair weather fans get to you or the team. The true fans are there always, through thick and thin. Count this IU Grad as a true fan! Go Hoosiers! Keith

Would love to see Lee come to IU!

The Great S%&* Storm of 2014
KeithIUGrad89 replied to FortWayneHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
CTC will need to bring in a few players, hopefully bigs, to cover the quickly shrinking roster that is IUBB. We need upperclassmen to show the new players the ropes, how to practice, when to lift, etc. Hard to do that with a ton of transfers. Do you think we could have used Mo Creek and his outside shot this year??? Keith -
Hollowell & Etherington transferring..
KeithIUGrad89 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
We do need some upperclassman around to at least teach the new players the ways of practice, routines, weight lifting regimen etc. Hate to see a lot of transfers. Usually not a healthy sign. Bottom line though is I am still a Hoosier through and through and will root for them every game! Keith -
I'm tired of the "this is a young team" excuse. Do you see other teams freshman toss the ball all over the arena??? IU had the highest amount of TOs than all the other big conference schools. Unacceptable!! Vonleh is gone gone gone to the NBA. Will be a lottery pick. Why come back when IU cannot feed the post?? I think we will be better next year, I like seeing the development of SR and TW. I like the little we have seen from DD. Yogi will improve too. He just needs to learn to not pound the ball into the floor so long. Needs more ball movement.
