Just spitballin, but aren't a lot of UF's contributors seniors? Making a run at Billy Donovan would be sweet. You gotta think he at least has some interest in leaving Gainesville based on his flirtation with the Magic a few years back.    KingPG21, I really really like the idea of Dan Fife and agree that breaking in a top assistant might not be a bad thing. If it were the right guy, I could get behind that. 

Yea, with Bennett having just won the ACC not sure how realistic he is. I guess it depends on what he has coming back. But he would definitely be a great option, hes a proven winner. Have to imagine he wouldn't mind getting out of the ACC as going against Duke, UNC, Syracuse and more has to be draining.    Marshall I would also love, as he went to a final four last year and is undefeated this year. I don't much else about him otherwise, is he a lifer at Wichita State like presumably Mark Few is at Zaga? Or would he be willing to climb?

Yea, I could see that. He did get this program out from the utter terrible state it was in. IU can't become a revolving door for coaches.    Ultimately I agree and think next year he will flop and IU will be looking for a new MBB coach. Lets hope it works out!

Are you willing to ride out two or three more years of Crean just to gauge Stephen's interest? We have to be very careful to not let ourselves fall back into a pit of irrelevancy like we were in during the Davis years

I wouldn't be opposed to that hire. Ideally the new coach would be someone that has connections to the state of Indiana/midwest recruiting circuits and Lansing would probably offer that. 

I just can't be optimistic about next year based on the little I know thus far. No bigs, doesn't seem like a lot of depth... I don't see next year being any better than this past one

I wouldn't fire Crean at this point until I felt sure there was a coach I considered to be an upgrade to be "waiting in the wings" so to speak. You could easily downgrade from Crean and take the program even more south. Its crucial that the next hire is the right one. 

Thanks for making this thread, you beat me to it..    I'll copy what I said in another thread below:     The way I see it, Crean got Indiana out of the basement of college basketball. But is he capable of taking the team to the next level? His body of work says no. He is a program builder, at this point not an NCAA championship coach. How can you miss out on a field of SIXTY EIGHT teams... as Indiana? And a field of 32 in the NIT... thats asinine. If the boosters can pony up the cash to get him out, fine by me...   Thanks to Crean for fixing a mess and getting the program to a stage that it can be operable. I recognize his efforts but I also recognize his limits. His limit has been reached in Bloomington, its time to go get a stud coach. 

What a damn shame that a kid would rather play in the D league than for the Hoosiers.    That said, not sure its the wrong choice for Noah.
