(2014) LB Nile Sykes to IU
KelleyHoosh replied to HoosierReb01's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
A knowledgeable ND poster said he believes Niles is going to end up at IU and that he will likely not lose any eligibility for transferring as it is seemingly an admissions oversight causing him to have to leave ND. -
I agree 100% I don't really ideally believe in going deeper than 8 players. But that doesn't seem to be Crean's way, right?
-
If Hanner is solid, our starting 5 could be really good. We just have no real depth beyond the next two or three on the bench

Nice to have quarterback depth -
Can Indiana be a consistent winner under Coach Crean?
KelleyHoosh replied to Hoosier Cowboy's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Disappointing post season exits happen all the time. It leaves a bitter taste in everyones mouth, but does not change the fact that the season was a good one. Relatively speaking, it was one of the best in recent times. It was progress. Last season was a step (or 5) backwards. That is why there are a lot of people sounding the panic button. Thats why this year is crucial. If he can get us back on track then its all good and I can roll with Crean. If its another bad year, I'm all for finding a new guy because the bad trend will have become a pattern. But, where all the discussion comes from is what qualifies as a "good" year next year. -
(2014) LB Nile Sykes to IU
KelleyHoosh replied to HoosierReb01's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
A Notre Dame board poster said this: He's recently followed IU's defensive coordinator and head coach on Twitter, as well as Mizzou's graduate assistant defensive coach. All are probably on the hunt already. If we could get him, would be awesome! -

KelleyHoosh replied to Hoosier Cowboy's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yea, don't think anyone is really clamoring for Crean to be coach for life here haha. Pretty much everyone is saying his future here depends on how this year goes. Some are just more optimistic than others. -
(2015) PG Austin Conway to Wyoming
KelleyHoosh replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡HOW COULD WE LOSE SOMEONE TO WYOMING?????!!!!!!!! FIRE CREAN. NOW (kidding) Good luck to Austin, I think he will be a good player but I won't lose sleep over this. He is probably better off at a non major conference school anyway -
Yogi Ferrel James Blackmon JR Troy Williams Devin Davis Stanford Robinson Hanner Parea Robert Johnson Max Hoetzel Collin Hartman Tim Priller Jeremiah April Ryan Burton Nate Ritchie *Possibly Nick Zeisloft I think thats it off the top of my head, might be missing one or two

Ranking: If These Players Exceed Expectations...
KelleyHoosh replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I'll tell you who I see as our leader next year... Coach Crean. If we can get the team to buy in, and work to a common goal, everyone will lead one another. But if I had to pick particular players I would say it will be Yogi and Hanner. -
Think we can use a 6'2 kid in the paint? I might not be able to dunk or block shots, but I lead every pick up game in rebounds with my fundamentally sound boxing out.

2015 Basketball Recruiting Class
KelleyHoosh replied to KelleyHoosh's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I really, really, really hope that none of Yogi, Troy or JB2 go pro after this year. If we can keep them and pull a solid group in this class, the year after this one could be super good. I'm partial to Jimmy Whitt, but I have to learn more about the other 2015s. I want to get a big who can contribute right away -

Coach Wilson is great -
I hate to sound like a total freshman, but are the Villas a good place for parties? I'd like to keep police contact to a minimum haha

I'm doing IFS, not sure if anyone is familiar with the program, but its basically a two week three credit course that lets you move in early. 30 days before I am in Bloomington, 32 before I move into Foster for two weeks. Welcome week in 50 days. Too excited

Thank you Stuhoo for making a thread thats actually about the team... these ones are always much more fun. I agree with the general consensus here. Really looking forward to watching some ball -
The RA's are all strict and the girls are sub par at best compared to Northwest. Unless you're lucky and get a decent RA, Teter is zero fun.
Thanks for the info Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

6'4" Guard Nick Zeisloft joins Hoosiers
KelleyHoosh replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yea, its not a crime, but it also isn't going to hurt to add him. He can teach kids work ethic, he can teach young players about getting in a proper mindset for a big in conference game... not just through words, but through action. Different perspective than a coach, which may hit home more with the players. I'll give you he wasn't very good at Illinois State, sure, but it is no small feat playing at a D1 level. At the least, he offers better competition in practice than just adding a random walk on. From all accounts he seems like he would be a good representative of Indiana University. Wouldn't hurt to have a successful business man and general good person be a supporter of the program and school. -
Best of luck to Peter. A great guy who couldn't catch a break, or rather, caught too many breaks at IU. Very happy to hear from the University that Pete will be allowed to finish his degree from Indiana if things don't work out athletically for him elsewhere.
An empty spot isn't much different than the +0 this guy would be. If there's an injury we'd still be in trouble, a guy that was merely okay in the MVC won't mitigate that loss against B1G competition. If he'd actually contribute and help I'd be okay with it, but he won't. We need more than just a warm body, we need someone that can actually help the team and I don't buy that a player that wasn't that good in the MVC will do that in the B1G.
I agree wholeheartedly that he would not make a difference on court against B1G competition. But at this part of the cycle, who are we gonna get that would? This doesn't appear to be a basketball move IMO for the kid. One of those articles said he was looking for a top 50 business degree. It works out for everyone like this: this guy gets one year of a top MBA education and the chance of a lifetime to say he's been an IU basketball player and in return we get a veteran voice in a locker room that everyone agrees lacks maturity/experience. Do we ideally want to take transfers from the MVC? No. This is just where we are at. All we can do is take the best option available and right now he is it Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
