    TOM CREAN FIRED

He just took over the program and that's a significant turn around. He did decently at Wagner and has a lot of in roads in elite hs basketball. Plus he played at duke. Obviously he's unrealistic, but I'd be interested in it Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  3. If you want to PM I can share a couple stories that I don't want to put on the public forum. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  4. Tim and Jeremiah are in my psych class and I sat next to them the first day. I can come away from that saying Tim is a great character guy. And he busts his ass taking notes and participating in class. The other times I've seen players or heard stories leave me with not such favorable impressions of the guys. IMO every team is gonna have some players that are assholes, but when almost all the players are legitimately the butt of jokes on yik yak and in big lecture classes, there's a problem Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

    TOM CREAN FIRED

This may be my jersey bias, but id really like one of the Hurley brothers to take over. Particularly Danny Hurley at Rhode Island right now. Former star of major program at duke, his dad's a legendary hs coach and disciplinarian. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  6. Wouldn't be surprised if they do. Sad fact is the campus has turned on the basketball team. Everyone loves IU ball but it's generally accepted that they are shitty people. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

    TOM CREAN FIRED

Honestly it's not even about if we make the tournament (which we won't). We need to make the change regardless Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  8. This is painful because I really like coach Crean. Having seen him around campus, he's an excellent ambassador to the university. If he could work in some fundraising capacity or something he would be great! Coaching leaves something to be desired. I don't blame him for the failed drug tests. I blame him for clearly not being able to identify the character needed in players and in game coaching. It's time to move on, which is sad, because he's a good man Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  9. One of my best friends plays D3 football and he says anytime the captains hear of someone going out they ride the kid to the point they don't want to go out when it's a violation of the team rules they have set. There's only so much Crean can do beyond setting the rules. The issue IMO is getting the players with the mindset to enforce them. And WANT to live by them. We need kids who eat sleep and breath basketball. That their idea of a good time is practicing/lifting/running, not drinking. There are players like that out there Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  10. Reactions on campus are mixed. Almost everyone agrees Crean should go. Personally, I don't see how he could've predicted this but he should've made a bigger example out of Hanner. People aren't being extremely sensitive, calling Holt and Davis idiots etc. Hopefully Devin makes it out alright... Bottom line this is absolutely crazy and not what we needed. 11. I know we have a lot of current students/alumni on the board as well as life long fans. I'm going to be starting as a freshman in August and I couldn't be more excited...    What are some must-see/experiences at IU? Input from anyone is appreciated.    I visited campus once and loved it, just registered for orientation and can't wait. Any fun facts, well kept secrets about life as an IU student, or stories you have from your time there would be cool to share.

What is your favorite thing about IU?

Wish I could post more lately. IU has been great thus far. In my psych class I've sat next to Jeremiah April and Tim priller. First football game this weekend, too excited Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

What is your favorite thing about IU?

I'm doing the IFS program, meaning I move in tomorrow. For two weeks I'll be in Foster, after it concludes, which is before the semester begins, I'll move into my regular fall housing in Teter. IFS stands for Intensive Freshman Seminar. I will be taking one class for 3 credits.    Ready to officially be a Hoosier!

Our five "big" non conference games

Good in terms of odds of winning the game, bad in terms of playing the best and tournament preparation. Crushing blow for SMU Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

    Interesting CTC Tweet

Eh I'm not reading into this that much. Coach has been tweeting stuff like that (wisdom, work ethic, fundamental bball) a lot lately Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Does Nile have a shot at playing right away?

    Welcome to the BIG TEN

Look at it this way guys, in Rutgers we have a school we can beat in every sport every year. And in Maryland we have a team we can beat in football

Our five "big" non conference games

I think we will beat Pitt and Butler. Georgetown is a toss up. Expecting a close loss to SMU and a pretty sizable loss to Louisville

    Off Season Progress/Notes

Hope that the team is well conditioned and we can play small ball utilizing a lot of full court pressing to negate lack of a big presence in the paint on defense and get easy transition buckets. Assuming Hanner plays 28 minutes, it shouldn't be too much to ask that we can press effectively for 12 minutes.    Didn't I read on here that Devin grew an inch or two? Hopefully he bulks up and can hold his own in the paint. Maybe if we can't run a lot we can send 4 or 5 to rebound and pray we have an efficient half court offense.    Honestly, we know depth in the front court is going to a problem. Heres to hoping Crean can minimize it better than me
