This is an interesting discussion about coaching hires guys, but not the thread for it

1) Maker is an eligibility nightmare 2) IU wouldn't be the school he chooses to go to Wish him luck, personally I'll be crossing my fingers for Bryant

The fans aren't going to the games?

Honestly is it even worth dissecting where things went wrong? There were questionable coaching decisions made throughout the game. 8 points through 14 minutes is a worse drought than a lot of middle school teams go through. Defense is awful. Subs make no sense. Its really just more of the same.

Eh, I don't think they're that bad.

Big Ten Tournament - Can Indiana get a Double Bye?
KelleyHoosh replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I just did it and it looks to me like we really need Purdue to beat Ohio State and to win out (obviously) to get a four seed. That said, I wouldn't mind a worse seed and potentially better matchup in the BTT. -
Northwestern pre-game 2/25 7pm
KelleyHoosh replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
To be honest this game scares me. All three of our next games are very losable. NW is a lot better than their record shows, and this would be a bad, bad loss in general and specifically timing wise. Gotta have a strong showing today -

http://www.blackheartgoldpants.com/basketball/2015/2/24/8098085/projecting-the-big-ten-tournament-hoops-field Not sure if this is still accurate, but I would like this seed a lot. I think we would beat NW or PSU. MSU is definitely beatable, but as long as we have a decent showing there I think we would get a 7-9 seed in the March Madness -

I'm sorry, I don't think I've ever seen Crean use all his timeouts even down 20 to execute a play. Thats just silly. Am I wrong?

Not say crean is bad coach just questioning some of his choice
KelleyHoosh replied to Hoosiers High Life's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Meh, I guess I'm past the point of outrage over it. I never expected him to contribute at any meaningful level. Basically, I don't care who is playing when we are up 30 as long as its not the starters. -

Right and I understand that frustration. I guess for me I just always kind of assumed he was not really any good since he was a complete unknown when we signed him. I really don't mean to take a dump on Rutgers, but when they're down 30 I'm not going to put any weight on how he performed against them. I think April played a bit in the exhibition games or early in the season and was relatively quiet. He played against Louisville in a head scratcher. I just don't see what he brings. I'd rather skilled/semi competent 6'6/6'7/6'9 on the court than a liability at 7'. But again to your point, he hasn't necessarily looked like a total liability to this point -

I'm sorry, but the recent talk about April not getting enough playing time has got me absolutely floored. The guy looks unnatural on the court, has been said to not know the plays and hes painfully slow. He's tall, but I don't think necessarily strong enough to bang in B10 paint. 10 times out of 10 I would rather have Hartman/Troy/Hanner playing at the 4/5. -
From what I can see the reason Yogi may not get a lot of calls when driving to the rim is because he throws his off arm pretty fiercely to gain positioning. Refs may think they're doing enough by not calling an offensive. Just my opinion
-
I think a lot depends on the timing of when a new coach were to come in if he would have success. If Crean were to go after next year, it may be rough as (Yogi Hanner, and Ziesloft already gone) you would likely see Troy and JB2 bolt. OG and Morgan, depending on who it is would be high risk transfers. Basically I think we would only really be left with Rojo, Holt, Hoetzel, and Davis of our current regular contributors as I don't think any of those guys necessarily have the juice to go pro at that time, but would likely be too invested in IU to transfer. Still, the program would be in much better shape than it was when Crean stepped in and for that we should be thankful. I really don't understand the HATRED for him. He took us out of the dumps and he has reached his ceiling as a coach in all likelihood, while mostly representing our university extremely well and cleaning up the program.

The holes in this roster are baffling
KelleyHoosh replied to Magnanimous's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I'd agree about transferring, not so sure on going pro though -
We could pretty easily lose NW, Iowa and MSU. Lets hope that isn't the case. I'm predicting at least one loss from those three, the #6 seed in the BTT.

Really couldn't care less about any number next to our name until Selection Sunday

IU vs Rutgers Post Game Thread

Don't blow out of proportion Aprils play in garbage time against an uninspired and frankly bad Rutgers team -
If it were possible both teams would lose

Spew your crap about Crean here
KelleyHoosh replied to HoosierAloha's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I like that you post your opinion and that it often creates a ton of conversation. I check this board neurotically. I just think you should pick your battles is all. And with that, I will exit this thread haha -

I completely get that man, but this isn't your personal crusade. Let them believe what they want, it will be good for your blood pressure to not get into these back and forths. Its futile. Opinions are hard to change and its not your job to adjust them. I mean, its a free country and it certainly gives me some interesting things to read. I just feel kinda bad for you, the mods, and people that get really heated about it haha -

I'm not one to try and flame things up with posters, but holy effin cow, ssq must be Crean's cousin. Doesn't it get tiring repeating the same arguments in circles to the point of nausea? We should all know what to expect under Crean by now. Go about your lives, watch the games and recruiting, muse on the topics brought to the board, but don't let your blood boil over it. Then, if you're so inclined, throw a party when a new coach is brought in.
