    Kj's replacement

I would go for Blackmon Sr. Has ties with Spiece and we already have Indy Elite dialed in. Just another step to reclaiming Indiana. I hope Creans makes a hire sooner rather than later.

    Kj's replacement

That would make Duke corrupt right along with every other program that Simeon has sent players too. It doesn't have to be a Calipari type hire but it needs to be a hire that anger us into a huge recruiting hotbed. Chicago, DMV, NYC.

    Kj's replacement

When I look at the blueblood schools I see benches with former players on them, besides UK. Duke is full of Dukies, UNC has Tar Heels, KU just had Manning leave and now he is moving up the ladder. The entire bench doesn't have to be former player but I think it is necessary to have at least 1 guy that's a former player on the staff. It's a huge part of selling the program. Come here and play an when you are finished we will help take care of you if desire to coach. Taking care of your own. I know Cream helps his former players but this is just another step he can take. If we don't go that route then hire the Simeon coach and tap into that pipeline that put out possibly the best talent in the country. Wade is a Chicago kid and Crean coached him. Cash in on that area while Wade still plays.

Rick Adelman to Retire: Izzo to MIN?

This has been rumored for months. Izzo is good friends with the GM of Minnesota and they talk a couple times a week. I brought it up on another board about 2-3 months ago an got laughed at. Lol

What Does it Mean to Play for Indiana?

Call me old school but I feel only a national championship deserves a ring. They got a special banner to point out how special that group was. It just shows that IU ha lowered the bar and it is used against Crean on the recruiting trail. The Crean supporters don't realize how damaging that s16 loss coupled with this terrible season had on recruiting. But it's cool we got 2012 achievement rings. We good.

What Does it Mean to Play for Indiana?

Those rigs were about a sweet 16 as they were sweet 16 rings. They weren't career achievement or being IU back rings. Ultimately they achieved sweet 16s. 2012 awesome. 2013 was a disappointment and or struggles point to Crean not the players. The fans love the players and dislike the coach.

    Cal's Future????

He may or may not leave this year. People forget Cal himself said he wouldn't stay at UK longer than 10 years. This year or in the next few he will be gone.

Indiana Rivals predicts us to finish 9th next season

It's called coaching. Tim Miles is fantastic. There were a few of us saying watch out for Nebraska when they hired him.

Indiana Rivals predicts us to finish 9th next season

Without knowing what our final roster looks like and what every other teams roster will be, it's impossible to say where we will be. I can see us anywhere from 4th to 10th. Too many variables at this point. Do we land a big or not? Do we have better chemistry? Do our freshmen improve? Who is leaving bc of the oversign? Oh wait.
  10. Then we still have unbalanced classes. Those guys are not difference makers. So why waste a scholarship on them for 4 years. Or we Crean them and we are still young an wasted scholarships on young kids never to see them as upperclassmen. Besides Crean can't afford to take projects. He is in a win now situation with his job. If he fails next year he is out and we will have 1 scholarship available for the new coach. Again no class balance.
  11. I'm torn. I feel like we need more experienced players and would betraying to go the JUCO route or finding more 5th year guys. Let's face it, it's a make or break year for Crean. Does he really want to go into a season like that dependent on lower ranked freshmen?

Who would you hire to replace CTC?

I'm sorry but that is just wrong. We don need to separate from out rich past. We need to embrace it. It's part of who we are and makes us who we are. If we didn't have banners to show off, we would have no history and recruiting would suck. To not want a coach bc he is connected to Knight is the worst reason possible. If you don't wan him bc of Pierre Pierce, I get it. Use the lack of tournament experience as a reason not to want Alford. Though I think he will be successful at UCLA. He can coach and people should go take a look at his recruits he has lined up already. Alford is getting it done. When the dust settles IU may wish they had their favored son that they spurned. Sayig that, give me Brad Stevens!!!!!!!

    Rate the coaches

    1. Izzo 2. Beliein 3. Ryan 4. Matta 5. Miles 6. Crean 7. McCaffery 8. Collins (I see him passing both Crean and McCaffery bu not after 1 yr) 9. Pitino jr. (Will also pass McCaffery and Crean within the next few seasons) 10. Turgeon 11. Groce 12. Painter 13. Chambers 14. I have no clue who coaches Rutgers. I really feel after a few years experience that Collins and Pitino could be in the top half. I already think Collins is better than adapting to his roster than Crean.
  14. I was under the impression class A ball in Michigan was their big class. Maybe I had it backwards. I thought I read it was the inverse of Indiana class basketball.

Who would you hire to replace CTC?

I'm with you. Look at the draw Florida got this year. A banged up Kansas gets knocked out. Now UCLA may end up the toughest opposition to a final four.

Who would you hire to replace CTC?

You know a well as I do tournament performance doesn't indicate how good a coach is. Especially when it comes to being at a mid major and playing possibly the most talent team ever assembled. :). I actually defend Crean for the Syracuse game last year. My complaints with Crean are in other areas and Gregg Marshall is an upgrade to Crean. Just my opinion.

    UK sucks

Looks like I'll be avoiding downtown next weekend. Inbred invasion is coming with both UK and UL in town.

Who would you hire to replace CTC?

Gregg Marshall is now available. Boosters get your checkbooks out and make it happen!!! One can dream right?

    OT: Buzz Williams to VT

I think Buzz left bc of things goig on behind the scenes. He didn't have a good relationship with the interim AD. Marquette still needs to hire someone for that position. Marquette also doesn't currently have a provost and has a Interim president. Which they are in the works of hiring. So there is a lot if uncertainty at te positions above him and he has a rocky relationship with those currently there. Add in a sexual assault case against some basketball players (not sure if any are on the current squad or not). The alumni not ring happy with the issues that seem to come up from the players under Buzz. He probably felt the writing was on the wall and it was time for a change before new faces came in and cleaned house anyway. Howland would be an instant upgrade if he runs a tight ship, like at Pitt. I think he has learned his lesson and would hire him yesterday.

IU will be a top 10 team next year

I just double checked draft express. Robinson is a projected 2nd rounder and Dekker isn't even mentioned. Both will stay IMO. Plus Michigan rts McGary back. Ohio state is a wildcard for me bc they are adding a lot of talented youth. Defense will likely suffer but their offense surely must be better? Right?

IU will be a top 10 team next year

What happens if Hollowell transfers an we don't get Lee? I can't see a top 10 team until I see what the roster we looks like. Even with Lee I don't see a top 10 team. I see a top 25 team with improvement from our current freshmen and Lee. I see Blackmon as an elite shooter but not RJ. He is good but I don't expect him to light it up as a freshman. He will have some games where he looks great and others where he doesn't. I don't think Wisconsin is losing anyone of substance. They will be the favorites. Nebraska should remain intact, I think. Illinois get 3 players who sat out this year plus a good recruiting class. Crean has his work cut out for him next season. Michigan will be good next year as well.
  22. I don't see any bigs out there that you would want to give a roster spot out to for 4 years. I think Crean will look at the 5th yr transfer options bc he knows we have the talent to be good next year. That will be the missing link. We may also jump in and take a big from a school that losses their coach.

OT: How did you find us?

Actually saw Mile mention this place on 247. I had wondered where posters went bc only a few showed up on Scout.

    TOM CREAN FIRED

It's not happening this offseason. However his seat should be warm going I to next season Also, nice to see some familiar faces. I had no clue that ppl bailed on 247 after the switch. Just found this place. I'm on the keep Crean bandwagon until Stevens says he wants to come home or it's clear he will be successful in the NBA. At that point you fire Crean and get the best coach you can.
