Transfer Portal w IU Interest

I can get behind that. I was thinking you were looking at Rice, Gallo, MM, MR, and a Center to start. -

Get the right 2 guard to go with Rice and you will have that dynamic. I think taking a big and benching Tucker and starting Gallo is setting us up for another miserable season. -

PG Rice SF/Wing - Tucker PF/Wing -Mgbako C/PF - Reneau Room for 1 more starter. My preference is a SG/Wing and play small ball. But get a rim protector to come off the bench and spell Reneau when he gets his quick fouls. I’m not sold on Gallo being a starter next year. People keep saying it but I won’t believe it until I see it. He wants to win and will be the 6th man on a winning team imo. -

There have been times in my career where I’ve been told I can make whatever changes I seem necessary but at the same time told the path the c-suite wanted me to take. It’s in those moments you are not really given the freedom to make a change. He would be making the change without the support of his superiors which is setting himself and the new hire up for failure. He may not have had the NIL available if there was a change too. Since the Simons/Cooks etc are backing Woody. Making a change just sets the program back further. But if they all agreed 1 more year and then Woody can retire or they would support a change, then his hands are literally tied to wait a year and then make a move for the best of the program. He maintains support above him, sets the new guy up for success, NIL funds remain available, etc.. Honestly, who care if it means missing on Dusty May, there are other quality coaches to be had. Go get one next year. -

And yet it’s hard to do anything when your bosses won’t let you. Or won’t sign off on who you want to get. -

Supply and demand. More teams have entered the market to pay players. Just shows how the top teams pre NOL were easily beating everyone else. -

Give him $5 million for all I care. It’s not my money. And if the boosters say IU won’t get outbid for a player, then pay the $700k. How much a player makes means absolutely nothing to me. I get a kick out of ppl getting up in arms about a player making good money. It’s capitalism folks, I hope you all are making as much as you possibly can too. Also the issue with the lineup is Reneau and has been. It’s why I wasn’t going to be upset if he transferred out. Having him means there isn’t going to be a massive shift in offensive philosophy. As he can’t play center but we need someone to play that role. So why not get the best center that you can? It’s chump change to the boosters anyway. -

No I actively chose not to watch. Hope they win the NIT but watching will make me just sit there and think what if. -

Not sure Woody does catch up. But hoping he does. Ideally they make the dance and then he retires. Even if he wins a big ten next year, I hope he retires because the product on the floor is not a style of play I’m interested in watching. In many ways I feel that Purdue plays a style much more to what is Hoosier basketball than IU. Yeah they feed Edey but they have plenty of ball and player movement, good shooting, and the top in state kids are going to PU. -

I was assured by NWG that IU was trailblazing a new path to the top. lol. I think he also set up another X acct besides his Tyme one. I noticed the same guy responding to several of his posts and agreeing with him. Clicked that profile and it’s new as of February of this year. lol. -
Just need the happy ending. A Vols win.
-
So he should squeeze the orange?
-
I caught that too. And then thought there is no way IU’s players did this last year. But maybe they will this offseason.

Alabama PG, Mark Sears

Joel Klatt discussed this theory. Michigan won the national title, OSU spends $12 mil on their football team for next year to counter was the most recent example. But he had several others. So it can wake up the rivals. Saying that….Go Vols.

Thanks for this. Looks like UConn does shoot a little bit further out than Bama, but still within a few feet of the rim. Whereas IU is shooting from anywhere and everywhere. Reinforces the idea that the style of play hasn’t adjusted to modern analytics. So we don’t know what an actual good shot is.

I’d like to see what the shot chart looks like for UConn. They are the standard, not Bama.

He is not going anywhere this year so we should be pulling for him to have the best team possible to have a successful year. I don’t care who the coach is, I want them to be successful so the program is successful. If he fails then Dolson will take care of it next year. -

The idea that we have a giant war chest is amusing to me. Yup we have a ton of money but need to buy a roster of players. Other programs can focus their money on 1-2 players, so don’t need the massive war chest that IU supposedly has. -
I think Shrews and Abdur-Rahim are the list for me at this point. Next season will be telling for both.
-
Rumor has it Leal is showing both their wives homes on the area.

Dakich will tell Dolson to hire Alford. He has been on that train for a long time. -

On one hand Crean will tell him the admin issues and fam expectations. But then the IU president can explain what’s changed since Crean has left and the direction the new administration wants to go.
