You realize this is very similar to Butler, Wisconsin, and Virginia for the last decade plus. They all beat good teams consistently.

Per Rabjohns McRobbie to blaim for lack of athletic success
Feathery replied to Aaron's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I think the president absolutely should be held accountable for sports and academics. As president, he is over all areas at the university: academics, growth, sports, facilities, research, etc. He doesn’t get a pass for sports and he definitely shouldn’t get a pass for a academic standing slide. Lets be honest, sports is the lense that the average person sees your university. People see football and basketball on their TVs weekly. It’s a huge part of marketing the university. There is a reason you see applicantion spikes at universities after you play for national titles. Easier to get donations when sports are doing well. McRobbie, as President, should absolutely be responsible. If you are going to rake money from sports to pay for academics, where is the results? I see a decrease in standing, while taking funds from sports. -

Except academic standing is falling. Mitch Daniels>>>>>>>>>McRobbie. It’s not even close. -
(2018) SF - Jerome Hunter Transfers To Xavier
Feathery replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Can’t be compartment syndrome. That’s a serious issue that would rapidly be diagnosed and fixed. I used to work with a guy that had blood flow issues to one leg that caused him problems. One leg was skinnier than the other, though he was a chiseled dude. Caused him some pain. I’m wondering if it’s similar to that. -
This is short sighted in my opinion. Indiana basketball talent is the life blood of the program. When you don’t focus inside out, then you alienate yourself from a tremendous talent pool. IU is not Duke, UK, Kansas, or UNC. IU isn’t going into NYC, NJ, or California and plucking 5* talent. IU is going to get the best talent in state and when we have a Romeo Langford come through the high school ranks, there is a tremendous amount of loyalty and cache built up with the grassroots programs across the state, that those coaches will then help guide our elite players to IU. While football and basketball are different, this would be similar to Ohio State or Texas not taking 4* kid from their own back yard. IU sits in the middle of one of the most fertile recruiting grounds in the country, it would be crazy to ignore that advantage. This doesn’t mean we don’t take a run at players elsewhere in the country. The foundation should always be homegrown players. So I you miss on an elite out of state player, then you still have a team that will compete with the top 1/4 of the conference.

(2019) PG DJ Carton to Ohio State
Feathery replied to KDB's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
To me this would have been a luxury pick for our 2019 class. We don’t need a PG, as we already have 2 on the roster. We will need one in 2020 though. -

Michigan fans have been feeling good about this one for awhile. I’m not getting my hopes up. -
2018 Huber Winery Event

I didn’t take it the same way that you did. He literally went through every player on the roster. Nothing more, nothing less. -
Michigan fans see this as a blow to Sparty. Evidently, Sparty thought they were in the lead and were making him the focal point of their recruiting.

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
Feathery replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Sounds like Tim Langford is a smart man. I don’t even care if he took a paycheck from his nonprofit. It’s legal, not against the NCAA rules, so to me it’s ethical. Bravo to the Langford family. Maybe slick Rick should have just let Adidas do their thing. Instead he had to get escorts and go beyond what’s allowed. -

I heard he is a combo of Lebron James, Jordan, and Magic.....only better. -
This. We have Romeo for 1 season. Surround him with the best you can get and make a run.

I was confident in the Zeller and Gordon recruitments. I’m even more confident/relaxed about Romeo. -

If Juwan does leave, then I think Smith slides into the PF position. -

If we start to land the kids we are expecting over the next few weeks, then Archie and company will have a couple five star kids to show recruits we will have a stellar roster. -

Yep. I think the winning staff has already been notified. Has he signed, dunno. It wouldn’t surprise me if it’s already official but not made public. -

Feathery replied to goonaha's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Absolutely agree here. I want to see a roster of 4-5 star players that are all multiple year guys. If you get the occasional 1 and done bc they are from in state, then great. Sprinkle in some grad transfers or 3 star program guys. -

Penny Hardaway is their new coach. I believe he had a AAU team before he became Memphis coach. He will be k own by these kids, plus he had a good career, too bad he had all those injuries. -

I’m from the Bay Area but my family is all from the Midwest. So I grew up watching Bay Area professional teams, IU basketball, Michigan football. But hate all you want. -

This should be the only question going right now. Has he already signed? Ive been thinking he has as well. I couldn’t see it being leaked otherwise.
