(2019) CG - Anthony Harris to North Carolina

Well there is only so many spots and much more recruits. So that will always be the case. Still have a very good class of TJD, Brunk, and Franklin coming in. -
2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves

Absolutely. While we did miss a ton of wide open 3s this year. I think Archie needs to improve as well. He is still an extremely young coach who needs to keep progressing himself. -

We will be looking at the guys on the roster to improve. Green is already above 40% Durham already jumped his shot 7% from his freshman year. Another decent jump and he is above 40%. Phinisee, healthy, is a 35% or greater shooter next year. Those are the 3 guys who will be playing the most minutes regardless of recruits we are looking at to play in the backcourt. The hope is a healthy Hunter adds another shooter who is shooting 35/40%. -

Joey Brunk? -
It’s that time of year again....

I usually still check it multiple times a day for recruiting news. Don’t post as much though. -
He should. Any new coach, at any school, should get 3/4 years before fans start showing up with pitchforks. Now if there are extenuating circumstances, then the coach shouldn’t get that long, (ie cheating, abuse, etc).

This is a great draw for next year. MSU and Iowa should be 2 of the top 3 teams. We get both at home for our only meeting. Win 2 of 3 of the home only. Split the home and aways 7-7 take 2 of 3 on the road. 11-9 seems reasonable at a quick glance. If things go extremely well, maybe 13-7.

I don’t think Trendon is a OAD. He is in The mold of a multi year 5*. Of course he could blow up next year and the NBA could come calling. Edit: I agree about Lewis actually. Christian doesn’t have the coaching experience that Lewis has. Maybe offer Christian the first job after Trendon leaves. -

Who do you take, Lewis or both Wafords? -

Thanks for sharing. He interviewed at Dayton before joining Archie at IU, if I remember correctly. -
Thing is, I think Glass would be on board. Just not sure his bosses would allow it.

Only if the admistration will back him and the compliance office is willing to help find loopholes and not scream of a “rule” is broken.

Quiet or shy doesn’t mean they don’t have a competitive edge to them. I’ve know many people that have a reserved personality, but gave it 100% at practice and games. -
(2019) SF Trendon Watford to LSU
Feathery replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Fact.. starting 4 underclassmen, means we are young. Fact... chemistry issues, parents tweeting crap during season. Fact.. barely missing tournament. As a 1 seed in NIT, it means we were one of the first 4 out. Fact... it’s year 2 for Archie. Fact... Archie improved the record from year 1 to year 2. Fact... Archie has stacked back to back classes, that sets the foundation. Fact... our young roster gained experience last year. Hell, I’m not even a sunshine pumper. I was there with you wanting Crean gone and was calling it out. Opinion...it’s entirely way to early to get on Archie’s back. It takes time to change a culture. We just did it at my work and our board an executive leadership had the understanding it would take us 3 years to do it. Give Archie and the staff time to do their job. If things still suck in a year, then start to worry. -

My skin is plenty thick. Funny how I present facts and it usually shuts down the negative few. Then they pop back up in another thread with the same argument I shot down previously. Think of the thousands of members on this board, and only a small % actually post. So yes, the 5% do post more than 50% of all posters. Facts remain that we had youth, injuries, and chemistry issues. So let’s blast the coaches and talk doom and gloom because we didn’t make the 2nd weekend of the NCAA tournament. We still almost made the NCAA’s in year 2. Won more games than year 1, upward trajectory. Just stacked back to back classes, upward trajectory. Found our PG for the next 3 years, upward trajectory. Room for improvement? Absolutely. Time to panic? Hell no. Say we lost momentum? Hell no. The foundation has been set. Experience was gained. Nothing wrong with being positive right now. If the negatives don’t like it or think they are getting shouted down, get thicker skin. -

But the 5% post more than 50% of the people here. The part that annoys me is the complete obtuse view on things. Everything is looking down a tunnel, taking no care for what the reality of the situation is. Then they turn around and blast the program they love. All the while it’s year freaking 2 of the Archie era. It’s not like Crean when he had been here for 6 years, it’s year 2. We started 4 underclassmen and people wonder why we start slow, are inconsistent, lack motivation. Growing pains people. Growing pains. -
2019 April Evaluation Period
Feathery replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Also, started 2 freshmen, 2 sophomores, and 1 Senior. That’s a very young lineup. Do you even take a second to look at the reality of the situation? Or is the expectation final four and 5-5* a year and anything less is failure? Context in life goes a long way my friend. Yes we are all IU friends around here. -

They have 1 very solid class coming this season. 5 players all ranked 4* and a 3*. Which they stacked on top of a class of zero players. Momentum. -
I hope not. Alford can recruit Indiana. Being at Cincinnati will be another thorn in the side of IU instate recruiting efforts. I hope Alford gets a mid major position.

Love, Leal, Morton would be a solid class. Might be too guard heavy though. -

I agree on taking Leal. You take him and he will be a 4 year guy. If there is someone elite in 2021 you want, Leal isn’t going to scare them off. -

This. There isn’t that time available. It’s about building continuity for the future. -
Lunardi has Penn St in the tournament. Guess he is expecting them to make a jump.
-
I think Bruno Fernando is going pro. Every mock I’ve looked at has him in the first round. That’s why I didn’t have them in that top tier. Definitely a tournament team.
-
They are going to fail their way to success, and hire Pearl.
