First to 75 wins, imo. -
I like Archie and I want him to succeed. He has to make the dance this year to avoid the hot seat next. He also has to go out and get a grad transfer shooter. Someone like Ziesloft to spread the floor while guys like Leal develop. Then he needs to either get an assistant to develop shooters or get a guy a class who is a 40%+ guy from deep.

I was listening to a Michigan podcast ran by the Michigan 24/7 guy Sam Webb on his radio show. He does a roundtable with analytic guys and others who cover Michigan athletics. During the conversation on basketball today they were all in agreement that Archie will be getting fired. They do not think he is good enough. One of the guys, founder of the largest Michigan fan site, has a fear that Archie will get fired and we land Beilien. Found it interesting that all 4 members of the round table were in agreement that Archie’s days are numbered and they don’t view him in that high of esteem. FYI. They do have issues with defense under Howard, so they are generally fair in their assessments.

IUBB vs Rutgers Game Thread 1/15 7 pm BTN

Nice response after getting punched with a haymaker to start the game. -
I want to see all out effort in both games this week. Let’s make that a trend. 1-1 this week is acceptable now. However if we win the game tonight, then 2-0 needs to be the expectation. I know Nebraska played us tough and beat Purdue. But if we play with the effort needed, then Nebraska should be a W.

IUBB vs Ohio State Game Thread: 1/11/20 @noon...WILL HE BE THERE?!?
Feathery replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Overall, I’m good with the first half. Effort is there. There will always be mistakes, but it’s not for a lack of caring or effort. Win or lose, play with that effort for 40 minutes. Let’s go. -
1 on 1 Player Meetings and Rotation Change

I get the point but you have to have good academic standing to recruit as well. Hard to go tell a parent we don’t care about academics when you want to build a roster of guys who stay 3-4 years. Plus the university wouldn’t allow the APR to slip for spirting reasons. -

I’m sure the APR kept him from doing this when he took the job. I’m just glad it’s finally happenings. Shape up or ship out. -

It will take a lot of booster money to get rid of a coach who doesn’t break the rules. -

He is like the 5th highest paid coach with less pressure. -

I think Archie is safe no matter what happens this season. The buyout is going to be too much. -

That’s because Justin Smith is going to shoot us to victory. -

That Archie needs to figure out how to get the message across. That they hear what the plan is pregame but then the players don’t execute it. That the only guys putting forth the required effort are the freshmen and Sophs. Poor leadership all around, both players and coach. -

The guys on Assembly Call have been speculating for a few games now that there is a disconnect between the upper classmen and the coaching staff. If that’s true, then just play the guys you recruited Archie and go with the youth movement. -

I can’t disagree with this statement. I’m not a Cream guy either. Oh how I wish we would have went for Marshall over Archie. -

This might be my biggest gripe with Archie. He lets runs go far too long. With this team and their struggles offensively, any 6-0 run by the opposition needs to lead to a timeout immediately to stop the momentum. -
While that may be, we still have talent and will always have talent. We might have a ceiling of Bo Ryan Wisconsin under this administration, but it still comes down to coaching to get us to that level.

It’s always reversible. Just need the right coach. Not giving up on Archie yet. But he needs to make the NCAA this year.
