He was a Shaka VCU recruit/commit. Not sure if Shaka could take him at UT . At least on the surface it wouldn't sit well with VCU . Don't know the whole story though.

Just read the various scouting blurbs. He looks to be an upgrade for DD but I haven't seen/found any video yet.

Shaka recruited only high motor players who would/could play tough defense. This guy looks to have the motor and the shoulders to be a good get for us. Imo

This will sound strange but this probably helps Hanner if he still hopes to be a pro someday. An extra year at a different school to sit out and learn and then a senior year to try and put it all together. I bet there will be lots of interest in HP from other schools despite his multiple transgressions . Devin made Coach Crean's life easy believe it or not. Devin now doesn't have a spot on the team that would likely be more of a feel good story spot rather than a capable player spot. Devin and Hanner really blew it but I think in the short/long run it helps everybody.

Article was/is updated. Says Hanner was there too but not charged. But Crean and company are reviewing the details. Hanner in the balance too?

Can/will Crean actually boot his "poster child of Crean's Compassion" for this? On the other hand does Crean want to stake his already wavering Head Coaching credentials on such an obvious screw-up?

So disappointing! Gotta believe that Crean strongly explained to the team that these kinda things CAN'T happen anymore. Regardless of anyone's stance on "weed" you've got to be aware of the situation. Maybe He'll claim it's for medical use? 3 steps forward and 5 steps back.

I have this feeling that playing time will be an issue for them. I can see some team chemistry issues for them as well . We'll see.

This would be a great guy to get. [ Even if we have to sacrifice Priller's scholly lol ] Now it appears Donovan's departure for a job with the Oklahoma City Thunder has at least one rethinking his decision to attend Florida. The Arkansas Democrat Gazette is reporting that shooting guard KeVaughn Allen plans to ask out of his Letter of Intent. Allen's stepfather, John Curry, called into a sports talk show in Little Rock said Allen is planning to asked to be released from his LOI. According to Curry, Allen was coming to Florida because of Donovan.

I don't hold it against them. It just points out that many of the "experts" are lemmings. When it comes to IU recruits and IU recruiting Pap is second to none with his info. We're very lucky he shares his info on these boards.

Speaking of Jerry Meyers and the crystal ball in general. Everyone of the experts flipped to KY after they saw that KY offered Shaun Kirk [ including weatherman Jerry Meyer ] and guess what? Kirk signed today with NCST. All the experts got it wrong ! So, I guess we'll have to see about Thon etc.
