  1. I'd take Beard. But only if Stevens and May didn't pan out as options. We all judge him for his past; justified. But we're all willing to look past the flaws of a coach if he/she wins. Take for example our football coach, maybe the most hated coach in the country and a self inflicted wound. We embrace him when he's ours, and would HATE him if he were in West Lafayette. I remember talking to a close friend who is a UK fan about what a piece of sh*t Calipari was, and he just laughed. Winning cures all and people deserve a second chance. Imagine giving Kelvin Sampson a second chance....let it rip, I don't care.
  2. AH1971 you're killing all optimism that some of us enjoy!!! Take your glass half empty posts to the Keep Mike Woodson thread. Kidding, sort of. We want Stevens, we want, May. Etc. Long shot on both, maybe, but there's a general consensus within this specific thread that seem to enjoy the concept of getting a coach we believe in. We're all frustrated, so go get a beer, a bourbon, an edible or whatever tickles your fancy and let's GET BRAD STEVENS. :)
  3. Doesn't he work for MJ Insurance in Carmel now?
  4. 34,776. How many pages did Archie and CTC get?
  5. To be fair, and in my opinion, if Sampson were still at IU we'd have at least 2 more banners. Ethics is not his strong suit. Coaching is.
  6. I will never root against IU, but I have admittedly lost interest in IUBB with Woodson at the helm. I was paying attention on my phone last night at a high school swim meet for my boys, and finally thought "maybe this is it". Hopefully this is it. The boos, the chanting, the unengaged fan base. Dolson is paying attention....maybe we have Cignetti to thank. Flip the Brad/Dusty coin and lets get on with it.

    IUBB 2024/2025 HAIKU Thread

Hoosiers' hopes ignite! You f**kers shout with one voice, Time to fire Woodson.
  8. OMG you actually did it. I want my name on a trophy right next to Woody's.
  9. @KathywithaC I actually appreciate all of your posts and transparency even if we all don't like all of the facts you share based on your clear insider knowledge. I, however, find this response to be inaccurate and makes a lot of what you say come into question. This is defending a multi year problem because we can't prove it...case in point: He did blame the fan base on a microphone. That was a jerk move - fact. He is underperforming unless this is the performance expected of him. Long time fans are dropping season tickets - fact. There is very real data here, and I can ramble on if you like. I personally think his tone of arrogance really gets him into more trouble than just poor coaching. He's borderline unlikable and he doesn't give a F. Saying he's not going anywhere anytime soon and that it's his job as long as he wants it to be...that's super arrogant, and was perceived as nothing more than him reciting what he discusses with QB. My point - Rumors all start from somewhere. CMW not engaging with Cig, not attending events, not wanting the women to play on the same court as the mens team, getting in fights with coaches, firing people who question him, not knowing recruits names, putting half of an effort into recruiting because we have a huge NIL program....those are rumors, but those rumors stem from somewhere. I don't like how all of this is avoided because there's a "process" in place. Go talk to all the people that paid huge money to go to the Bahamas to watch an uninspired team "coached" by a guy who needs a nap and see how they feel about rumors versus facts.
  10. Been absent for a bit. I'm 46 years old and have never been so uninspired by IUBB. I hope the success of bringing in a proven winner like Cig will inspire Dolson to get rid of the arrogant, careless "coach" we have. Sour grapes: other programs seem to get it right...we are a national example of mismanaging a program into the ground. We are the equivalent of Nebraska Football. Tough pill...

South Carolina at Indiana Today 3 PM Peacock

We are going to get buried by good shooting teams if we don't stop this "help" style defense. The number of wide open 3 point looks by every team so far this year is shocking to say the least. Score more than your opponent is not a strategy....just sayin'.

    2024 IUFB Season

If you break the coverage a few times, the DL will loosen up and we'll be able to run. Against Michigan we were on our heels for so much of the game due to some dropped passes and 2 deep red zone penalties. It turned uphill after that instead of running and throwing downhill. Early success and keeping their defense on their heels would be our key to competitiveness IMO.

Purdon't picked to win the Big Ten

I'm not bashing Purdue here, but I really don't get all this #1 hype and also the Braden Smith hype. Smith is good, but he absolutely fed on Edey - as he should have. And to be clear, Pat Fainter is an excellent coach & I hate it. Purdue fans who chirp about how Smith didn't need Edey to put up the assist numbers and spread the floor accordingly are simply delusional. Also, they are losing a massive percentage of points, rebounds and blocks. Edey was so outstanding - a true anomaly. No new talent, "ok" talent coming back, but to run away with the B1G?? This has nothing to do with whether IU will or will not perform....I simply don't get it, at all. Them ending up #1 would mean every single player takes a MASSIVE leap forward and they never really needed Edey in the first place.
  14. We're going to find out what this team is made of. I project a modest passing game, 2 TDs. And a great rushing game, 3 TDs. IU 38, Terps, 17.

How Many IUFB Wins In 2024?

    I think Cig sticks with his brand of winning. Brings home 8 wins in year 1. The man is not a fluke....he'll lead us to prominence. This era is different and is going to change the IUFB brand. FIU - W W. Ill - W @UCLA - W/L Charlotte - W Maryland - W @Northwestern - L Nebraska - W/L Washington - W/L @MSU - W/L Michigan - L @OSU - L Purdue - W

    College Bball Thread

I simply do not get Purdue or Kentucky in this list. I find it easy to dislike those schools, but this has nothing to do with that. They're stripped of talent. Maybe I'm way off, but I don't get it.
  17. Could be, because I definitely do not like the man. To me, this is the type of schedule Crean would have put out before he built the team up. We have a well constructed team, on paper. This schedule will not prepare them for what's to come.
  18. Here's part of my point to calling out CMW and the soft/weak comments. I think this schedule is humiliating to our brand and he's a big part of it. We want to be thought of as a top-tier Power 5 team. We are (or were) a Blue Blood. Name me a team that takes this ridiculous approach, soft, scared, sand-bagging approach? Here's a few teams we can start with: Purdue, Kansas, UNC, Duke, UCONN, MSU, Arizona, Baylor, Kentucky, Arkansas, Houston, Illinois, Tennessee, Gonzaga, Marquette, Wisky, Baylor, Auburn. I can go on. Build character and perspective in early tests. Losses can and are often very healthy, especially against great competition. A proven method for success. Or...build a schedule where very single team is an easy win. Don't challenge yourself. Don't risk a loss. We're "Minnesota".
  19. I respectfully disagree. I caught a peek of who Nebraska and Penn State have scheduled so far, and they're dunking on us. I consider them teams we should not lose to.
  20. I'm not sure which thread this belongs in, but OMG is that a soft schedule. I'd speculate every single B1G team plays a more interesting/challenging/ANYTHING schedule. All cupcakes, and pretty much all home minus Atlantis....it's simply embarrassing. We're a joke. He's a joke. A fragile little man too scared to play any level of competition. Can't wait for a season full of excuses followed by an extension.
