(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

If these Vandy insiders have anything substantial behind the posted rumor, 247 votes will change. Keep an eye out. -

I'm also hopeful Archie can do something to dial-in Green and Davis. There's potential there. There's some serious upside to Smith, obviously, and hopefully an immediate perimeter threat from DAnderson. Depth. Depth. -

Jerry Meyer has way too much reputational risk to put unsubstantiated facts out there. That, to me, is by far the biggest indicator Romeo is heading to IU. Outside of 007 of course, who is actually Romeo. -

I believe the Grimes prediction carries some weight. People talk about RL & QG's relationship and how Grimes was drawing him to Kansas. All the Vandy predictions are surrounded by him following 2 other players to college, and I don't see that happening. Drew just has this coating of slime on him, and it's hard to turn a blind eye to that. It's IU. -

This ^^ x 10000000000000. I'm more annoyed that he can snake his way in with these recruits. Just watch that OMG ridiculous huddle where he describes the fundamentals of round, bouncy leather balls that are to be tossed with an arc at an orange metal circle with a net hanging from it. It's unbelievable to me that he's even taken seriously. Then again, he's a former NBA star... -

I keep going back to the fact that Vanderbilt and Kansas are on the FBI list. With the perceived humble and grounded approach from Romeo & Company, why would you change it by committing to one of those schools? So Drew is cunning; I get it. So cunning that he'll likely end up without a job or on a lengthy suspension. Same with crystal clean Bill Self (cough, cough, Billy Preston, cough, cough). -

Can we get back to more conspiracy theories on Romeo, please! I need my fix for the day, and arguing over dorms isn't doing it. -

Let's be honest with each other. Drew did have a stunning NBA career; one that Romeo will likely want to mirror. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/d/drewbr01.html. Outside of an easy jab at Bryce Drew for being a clear "NBA guy", I see this interview being a ++ for IU. Then again, I do wear crimson goggles on occasion. -
Indy Star and lots of other central IN media outlets salivate over Purdue regularly. Sort of funny, really.

(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky

It's fun to watch these, but I'm so reserved after getting amped up after watching Perea, Patterson, Hollowell, etc. Those guys dominated in HS and dominated for a reason. No competition. When I see high school highlight videos, I always have to keep in mind it's a 6'7" national star playing against guys like me (a slow guy that can't shoot or jump but was good enough to play in high school). 90% of the shots are uncontested or are wide open/putback dunks. Again, fun to watch but far from a reflection of what B1G competition will provide (unless it's a pure shooter or a kid like Yogi who was a clear stand out). -

"I believe Garland used our visit to help his case with Romeo". This is wayyyy too true. Also, FWIW, if the sales team at my place or work gets last look, it's always, 100% of the time a good thing. We land a very heavy majority of the work we go after when we get last look. For me, this boils down to "Does Archie have his pitch ready"? And you better believe he does. I'm no prophet; I have no inside sources, but knowing what facts all the rest of us do with no speculation, Romeo is ours to lose. This isn't a game for their family the way it was for the Garland's. Last visit is a very, very powerful thing. -

Some of this is ridiculous (not your post, iuwingman, but the premise that he has decided on Vandy and is still visiting IU). If he decided on Vandy, he wouldn't give IU last look. Logic, people. -

I would hope the Langford's would be above that. Everything we all read is surrounded by positive comments regarding the family. We're all just way too close to what happened with Garland and his father. And before I'm given the death sentence again, yes, that happened and yes, it was intentional. It won't happen this time. -
It's sickening.

Was speaking with some friends recently, and isn't it ironic that this just "went away" for Izzo & Company, yet again? Believably unbelievable. Key staff surrounding the golden boy all fired, yet Izzo remains standing. Lord help the ladies involved (and their fathers) who now know sports trumps all. If this were 99% of other schools, a full house cleaning would have been done. Makes my blood boil to know they get away with this ****.

If Remy is synonymous with "Every single male college student, ever", then yes. -

Remy was our first KY recruit in like 30 years if I recall correctly. Also, he was uncertain about his IU future, and after talking about a possible Xavier transfer then saying he didn't want to leave, CTC gave him a hard boot. Many, many stories support this and it was yet another of CTC's "these things work themselves out" moves. IMO, Crean's extreme narcissism took control. -
I do and it works fine. Whatever isn’t on BTN or ESPN is available via Reddit or antenna. Huge cost savings. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Fair enough. He and Jay Cutler will be best buds at the alumni events I guess. -

An unsubstantiated gut feeling from a guy who has paid very close attention to this recruitment: I believe he really hasn't made a decision yet, and the family has done things by the book and hasn't spoken to anyone, including CAM and Drew. I believe it is Romeo's decision, and it's going to be heavily influenced by his father. Darius Garland plays no role in it, and if he did, Romeo would have committed to Vandy already. We're not only lucky to have a horse in the race, but we actually have a favorable lead. If we were not well received, Romeo wouldn't waste the time giving Archie last look. We know he wants to win (duh, advantage KU then IU), we know he needs a national stage (duh, advantage IU & KU) and it's inconceivable to think Romeo isn't well aware that he'll be an immediate legend at IU, but not at KU or Vandy. So, if Romeo is a passive, wet napkin with low morals/ethics (which he is not), Vandy is the spot. But he's not following DG and he knows when the Shittu stuff goes down, so does Vandy. That leaves IU and KU. He stays home. An unsubstantiated gut feeling. -

As always, a total lack of tact and self control out of JA.
