Where does IU Football go from here

Dude is clueless. I’d just stop responding and he’ll go away
  2. Didn’t watch the game but holy crap I hate that adidas logo on our jerseys. Such an eye sore

    Hoosier Fan Fest

I absolutely cannot stand that they are associated with IU. It irks me so much. These guys are clowns to the nth degree and Peegs/the program tout them. It’s just so damn disappointing.

(2022) - PF Noah Clowney to Alabama

Yeah but I never saw anywhere credible that said Alabama was out. Didn’t see it by any reporter or anything so was confusing to me

(2022) - PF Noah Clowney to Alabama

Not really sure where this Alabama is out stuff is coming from. Rabjohns just said he’s rescheduled his visit there for October 23rd. This looks like it’ll be a late October/early November decision
  6. We are what we are. About a 7-5, 6-6 team that in other years might get to 8 or 9 wins. I’m afraid that’s about our ceiling as a program. Just trying to be realistic
  7. Do you really believe Cincy is a top 10 team? Maybe by preseason expectations. They’ll stay up that high because they play absolutely no one so can go 11-1 every year. I think they’re a solid top 25 team that would have 3-4 losses in the BIG, but this media narrative trying to get them in the playoff is way off base. They’ll get absolutely destroyed by anyone they play in the top 4
  8. Another year, another close-but-no-cigar predictable outcome in a big game. Wake me up when that changes

    Name, Image & Likeness (NIL)

That money came from shoe companies in the hopes that those highly ranked kids would sign with them once they hit the NBA. TJD is a fringe NBA player who doesn’t have that kind of value.

No, not per year. Six figures, which I don’t think TJD will hit here unless it’s in the low $100,000 range. He’d still be making more overseas

    Name, Image & Likeness (NIL)

Yeah, there’s absolutely no chance TJD will be making close to the amount of money that he could overseas. People that actually think that are dreaming. He can still make millions going to a top league overseas. Never gonna get that here
  12. Yes! This pickup is so critical. We’ll probably have the best backcourt in the BIG next season. Exciting things to come
  13. Man, now we’re losing recruiting battles to old dominion? ;)

(2022) - SF Justin Taylor to Syracuse

Not likely to be IU per Rabjohns
  15. Agree with others that this is for the Dickinson and Edey types of the BIG, as well as a good practice guy for TJD/Race/Duncomb to go against. I like that he’ll have 2 years because I think we’ll be without both TJD and Race after this year. He’s a lot bigger and a better rebounder/shot blocker than Brunk, so definitely an upgrade there. What I don’t get is what he sees personally as a fit here. He was playing starter minutes at USF and he’ll likely get 10 minutes tops here. Doesn’t make much sense to me but I’ll take him if he buys in

(2018) SF - Jerome Hunter Transfers To Xavier

Well, looks like I need an avatar change
  17. That’s fine. It’s my opinion and I stick by that
  18. This isn’t an exact science business. I have never once mentioned they are right 100% of the time because that is impossible. I respect their opinions because this is their job. They have been doing it for years and years and are good at it if you pay attention. They will miss yes. I mean, I know everyone loves to hate Snow but he just got a job at Penn State as recruiting coordinator for them. Who is the head coach at PSU? Shrewsberry who was previously on Purdue’s staff that everyone envies so much. He thought enough of snow to give him that position. That doesn’t happen if he isn’t good at his job. There’s an amazing poster on Peegs named iuphilly who has done tons of research on rankings and his research constantly shows you need guys in the sweet spots of 30-80 with others sprinkled in as well to become a championship contender. As far as the gonzaga and Villanova stuff, that kind of “contact” happens all the time. You check in on a player but never offer. Think we’ll ever offer Leland walker or Tayshawn Comer? No. They’re down the list backup plans but have been mentioned with IU. Like I said, I have nothing against Braden Smith. He’s a good player and sounds like a good kid. But we need top talent and from listening to people who do this as their job, he isn’t the guy we need to get to the promised land.
  19. All I see here is ignorance and a straight up refusal to recognize when you could be wrong. No one here is saying Braden Smith is a bad player. We just want better. There is evidence out there that people are laying in front of you and you’re just like...nah I’m right not of that matters. No point in debating any longer
  20. Whatever you want to think but that’s an extremely ignorant viewpoint. Go into anyone’s profession that’s done it for years and try telling them that. You think it’s generic because you don’t want to believe it because you like the player. Simple as that
  21. You know exactly what I mean. Come on man
  22. Top 50 players more often than not play to their ranking, which isn’t the case as much with guys outside the top 100. There will always be outliers. With Smith, Rabjohns has said he struggles to deal with length at times and the length he is facing isn’t near what he will face in the big ten. I want the guys like Trimble that can break down the D and not have to worry about length at that level. It’s just where I’m at. Bob knight’s way is not today’s way. Nova also built up most of there teams with guys in the top 30-80, so you’re kind of making my point here.
