  1. Way too much talent in the 17 class to be taking this kid right now (if he were to commit).
  2. Honestly feel we will come out ready to play today, especially because it is a bigger opponent. Can't really "overlook" Michigan. Now Penn State on the other hand does scare me. It's a trap game, and one we could lose if we're focused on Iowa the next week.

    TOM CREAN FIRED

lol if Troy wants to go overseas he'll leave early. But yes, we should be very good next year. Point guard play will be the biggest question mark

never said it was his fault. Just pointing out what I see

Indiana v. Minnesota - Post Game Thread

I probably overreacted after the game, emotions were running high because I expected much better. I do agree our transition defense was terrible today, but the fact that we went away from what was working on offense to letting Troy initiate the offense is what got me the most worked up. My apologies

no. In the games we've won lately, less Troy handling the ball and more baseline. What did we see today? Troy getting the ball at the top in key situations when yogi would usually have it. I don't think it's a coincidence

I will NEVER understand why Troy ever touches the ball at the top of the key. Single handedly almost the reason we lost today. It is sickening.
  8. not sure if serious, but he left UNLV because of him lol

nigel Hayes. 22 free throws. That is absolutely ridiculous.

Is Thomas Bryant a one and done?

I wonder what's up with the discrepancies between draft analysts

Is Thomas Bryant a one and done?

Projected to go 20th according to chad ford's new big board. Looking like this could be a real possibility that he jumps. :(

    Student attendance

yup, the environment and watching IU is just an awesome experience and one that I cherish every second of. Just wish other students felt the same in the down years :)

    Student attendance

As a senior, really disappointed with the student attendance/enthusiasm during games. No offense to the out of state kids or Chicagoland area, but it feels like most kids I talk to in the student section from those areas barely know who our players are. They come because it's an excuse to drink and socialize and cheer at the highlight plays. Feels like there is no organization with cheering, chants, etc. It makes for a much less exciting experience and completely pales in comparison to freshman year (and yes, I know we were damn good that year. Still no excuse for students to not come/not care)
  14. Quite a few big time recruits are going to be at this game, hope we show out and don't lay an egg. This game worries me, but I'm hoping at least one of Troy, Rojo, and Z come out of their slumps today. Side note- read that Cook Hall is closed to the public today for any of those that were planning on going before the game.
  15. like another poster said, drive safe. Roads are pretty slick
  16. my roommate just said that it's supposed rain tonight and freeze early in the morning, with some snow mixed in. Fun stuff for those driving up tomorrow. I would advise leaving early
  17. hadnt thought of that, really glad I came back today. I will say, way more traffic than I expected coming up from southern Indiana.

i realize that, which is why I expanded on assists and turnovers above. I also understand he spaces the floor more for shooters, but he was also the one to force the issue in key moments of the game. Like I said, I'm not a JBJ hater. He definitely has some solid offense at times. Just putting some stats out there for discussion. We're also seeing OG step up and hit big shots in his absence, while also playing what could be argued as the best D on the team. This may not last, but at the moment he isn't as greatly missed on offense as previously thought, imo.

Just to expand, on this year alone JBJ had 22 assists to 25 turnovers. Rojo has 50 assists, 32 turnovers. I realize rojo has played 3 more games, but those have been some of his worst turnover wise. I'm sure his A:TO ratio might be better without those 3. I probably seem like a JBJ hater, I'm not. I actually like what he brings when he's focused and hitting shots, but i think people are unfairly putting Rojo up against him

this. It was never JBJ or rojo. They started together all last year and most of this season. And I seem to recall JBJ being pretty abysmal in most big games last year, so l looked up the bigger games this year. Wake forest, 1-8, 5 points. UNLV, 5-12, 13 points. Duke, 5-12, 14 points. Notre dame, 3-11, 11 points. So not terrible, but not efficient at all. I'll take D over that kind of offense any day
  21. I knew he was close, I guess I just don't get the appeal for them. Then again, I have no idea what it's like to be a top ranked recruit and able to attend games like this. I could understand UNC, duke. NC state just seems "meh".

So we're picking on RJ for stepping out of bounds once, and dribbling off his foot once, while Troy and yogi get about 3 TO's each stepping on said baseline per game. I don't see those as a way to single him out. With RJ out, will Bryant even get a post touch?

    OG Anonuby MAJOR Sleeper:

Definitely becoming one of my favorite players to watch. He has so much length, which has lead to some impressive steals at important junctures of the last few games. Also, who knew he was a sharpshooter? I'll take those 3s all day :)
