I agree, however, jobs like Virginia are starting to pay better (already making millions) and good coaches can leverage themselves with other job openings to get their assistants paid. I think we'll start to see this as a consistent trend, where money doesn't matter quite as much anymore and it comes down to personal fit. As far as Glass goes, I agree. Revenue is up, but I'm inclined to think a lot of that is BIG money we get from football and basketball. I'm not very knowledgeable on this subject, but I would think most ADs could up our revenue with the way TV deals are going in major conferences. Could be wrong there. Glass has also had the Miller situation and Wilson situation. Both red flags for me. If he botches this hire, it absolutely has to fall back on him and we need to question if Glass is the right AD.

Oh definitely. There is more competition in the A10, but the expectations for Dayton are nothing like they would be at a job like IU. That's what I meant by being comfortable for Archie
-
Well, the same could be said for Greg Marshall and to a lesser extent Archie Miller. Why would anyone leave their comfortable job like that? Yet those names are always brought up for new positions, and not Few. Just thought it was weird
-
I guess what I'm thinking is that a lot of coaches have that desire to see how they will do on the biggest stage and want to scratch that itch. Not all, but it's surprised me that his name is rarely even mentioned (not saying it's realistic he would come) because of all the success he has had.
-
That's a name that hardly ever gets mentioned for new openings. Unless he has let it be known he has no interest in other jobs, it's a little strange.

Putting myself in Bennett's shoes, I could definitely see how IU would leave a sour taste in my mouth after what went down with his sister. We're definitely biased about being the best job he could land, and who knows, he may love it at Virginia and be a lifer. Money doesn't always talk for some people if they're in a comfortable situation.

The worst part is when he says stuff like, "Oh Devonte, Juwan, De'Ron are all banged up. Not at all 100%. They barely practiced this week." Then they get in the game and act like their normal selves. Like what, did they brush shoulders with someone in practice?

Has the injury excuse ever been more used in sports than in Crean's time here? I'm obviously exaggerating but It gets SO old hearing "injury this, injury that". Every year good coaches have players go down with injury and it's next man up. If I never heard it again I'd be ecstatic.

Do people on here actually like Dakich? Lol the guy is a whiner and a tool. Sad that he's one of our own.
-
You guys know if Alex is thinking those things, so is every other reporter. Bozich, Miller, etc. I'd really love to hear Fisch's thoughts on him, unfiltered. Can only hope Glass sees what everyone else does. I'm ready for this joke of a coach to be gone yesterday.

This feels like it is the end. Everything seems to be coming together this game -

I've ragged on him a lot but he seems to be the only one out there that wants it right now -

We continue to do the hedge. Am I crazy or is it just a terrible defensive strategy? -

This team has given up. And honestly I can't blame them. No fire at all -

There's that Thomas hedge again that inevitably leads to an and-1. Laughable -

This is why it's hard to watch IU anymore. Why is Thomas out there hedging 30 feet from the basket and doubling? Every time we're late on switches because of that and leave a guy wide open. -
It's pretty much that he hasn't made the tourney with South Carolina in 4 years. He's in the SEC, with only one team in that conference that's consistently good. Why would we go after a coach like that? Because he had them ranked at one point this year? Makes no sense. Crean has a better profile than he does. Lateral move to downgrade imo.
-
Frank Martin? My God no. I'd rather keep Crean. REALLY hope that rumor is false. Donovan (probably unrealistic), Marshall, Bennett, Archie should be our top choices and we shouldn't have to go outside of that pool to find someone. Would be extremely hard for me to get behind Frank Martin. He hasn't done anything.

Another season of this crap? Gee can't wait
-
Didn't watch, was at a bday gathering. Not even upset, if anything I'll thank Purdue for putting a nail in Creans coffin
-
God how I wish someone would grill him with that line of questioning. Show him our average noncon SOS and tell him to explain. I fully believe he wants the padded wins and to say "Hey look, I won 20 games this year!". There is no other reason to schedule the teams we do.

IU VS. PURDUE OFFICIAL GAME THREAD (7 PM ET ESPN2)

Pretty sure it's the Swanigan factor. When he isn't in the game their offense falls off quite a bit. They'll be good again next year but nothing like now imo if Swanigan leaves
