Agreed, and the clock is well past midnight. I’m beginning to agree with Treesh that you may see a “mutual agreement to part ways” with a reduced buyout instead of an outright “firing”. It would be better optics for all parties involved.

Candidates aside, Dolson has to see how much of a dumpster fire it would be to retain Archie. I’ve never seen the fanbase more done with a coach because of results. This is one of, if not the, worst 4 year stretches in our entire history. To retain him would tell me Dolson has no pulse on this program and that he’s just another yes man. It would get soooo ugly. I just don’t see how he stays.

A guy that really intrigues me that I haven’t seen mentioned here much if at all is Micah Shrewsberry. I could get behind him.

And when that doesn’t work?

Tons of boosters and people did not lose money. The buyout is not relevant when it comes to boosters. What is relevant is if they’re willing to spend it. The school is losing money. Big time boosters? Nah

It’s going to be Fife isn’t it. Perfect time to start finding other hobbies I guess. Never thought in my entire life this is what would happen to the program I love. IU basketball will never ever be what it once was.

I think because of all the optics this year it’s just going to happen. You can’t have the tournament on our home floor and not be in it. Maybe if it was a normal year he would be retained (I would hope not), but he will never ever be able to recover from having tourney games on our home floor and not being in it. It’s just over. I liked the hire at the time and still like Archie as a person, but he’s done. If he somehow gets retained, next year is going to be so ugly. I think, hope, that Dolson and whoever is in the admin realizes this. But I also have zero faith that the people in power at IU can get anything done with purpose. This is the most defeated as a fan I’ve ever been in my life and has me questioning where we even go from here. Sucks.

I don’t think the money coming from boosters or alums is effected much by COVID so I don’t buy that excuse. The school? Yes.
