Agree with the rape thing. I believe Adrean Payne was one of the players involved, which is why I always rolled my eyes when I saw him praised heavily when he befriended the little girl dying of cancer. I realize you can't believe everything you read and false allegations happen, but there seemed to be compelling evidence that this was covered up a la Jameis Winston.

Generally, schools have separate contracts for athletics and the school itself. Thus, why you see polo hats with an IU logo or champion and so forth.

I think for UA to view IU as lucrative, we must be open to adjusting our uniforms and other aspects so that UA can fully display their products. Otherwise, UA is just basically slapping their logo on the same thing adidas did and nike before them.

Weak Indiana HS Senior Class
IUALUMNI2003 replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
McGary had interest, however we wanted him for the 2012 class and he decided to go 2011, I believe, but we were very much in the mix. -
Remember when PU was pissed about Dawson saying something was shady with him and that they only signed Valentine because he was friends with Dawson. Can the same logic now be applied towards Purdue?

I am pretty sure that he passed a drug test prior to the incident, which is what I have read. Which explains why they thought they could get away with it in the first place. They assumed they wouldn't be tested for a while since they were just tested.

He doesn't have to sign to attend there, FWIW. Also, I don't know why any highly ranked recruit does. By not signing the LOI, you have the ability to transfer or go somewhere else in the event of a coaching change or something else.

Thanks, Kentucky for revealing yourself

I dislike Calipari, but I am pretty sure the context was if he gets 8 players by the end of the in position to be drafted to the NBA, then everything else should come along with that (i.e. winning, championships, etc.). It is skewed by that quote. -

We've heard this one before. Denial means nothing. Said the same thing when he was at Memphis and we know how that turned out. -
Devin Davis cited for marijuana possession

I am sure everyone here never made any decision that "disrespected" your parents or anyone else you held in high regard growing up. Give me a break. You can preach and preach on what not to do, but people are going to do what they are going to do. -
Report: IU vs UK series may return by next season
IUALUMNI2003 replied to bleedhoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I just don't like giving in to Calipari and his objective to turn UK into the equivalent of a national travelling team. I believe marquee games should be played on campus and they should limit the number of off-campus (or whatever your home court is) games. This is college basketball and should be played at the colleges, unless you are ok being a season ticket holder and seeing your team play a directional school or no name school outside of conference play? -

Not sure if I agree with just doing the neutral site because that is giving Calipari and Kentucky what they want, which is a platform to showcase their team in Indianapolis, one of the best hotbeds of basketball talent. -
I am saying that I don't think Eron is feeling the love as he is from us, therefore he is moving on to other programs that are. I base this on the fact that you hear little to no chatter about IU recruiting Eron, but there are reports, notebooks coming out quite frequently about other prospects in the class that we are out to see and recruiting.

^^^^^^^^^ This. I think it is a matter of us not prioritizing Eron as high as Alkins.

IU and the rest of the B1G honors scholarships as well if they want to come back. -
Troy Williams returning to IU!!!!!!
IUALUMNI2003 replied to HoosierSadaseci's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
People were saying he should model himself after PG, I say Scottie Pippen. Much more similar in style and frame. He has the athleticism and height. Not saying he will be Scottie Pippen, but could play a similar style. Personally, I think he will end up a better pro than college player. NBA fits his playing style better. -

Troy could be Scottie Pippen in the league if he puts in the time and really dedicates himself.
