  1. Need to keep up some defensive intensity out of the timeout and see if we can’t take a lead.
  2. The frustrating part here is we actually haven’t looked too bad all things considered.
  3. Bako with a nice three then an over help to negate it at the other end. Baffling.
  4. Two bigs. It feels like Groundhog Day
  5. A foul on Ballo because Reese lost the ball. Okay.
  6. Bull crap. He stuck his leg out
  7. JG going hard for that ball and Bako just standing there staring at it is everything you need to know about MM lol
  8. Better effort so far compared to UI. Don’t like the two bigs again

For no one having scored 40 yet, this game has been really fun to watch so far. High level defense and high level bricks lol

Yea, I suppose you're right with the talent level, I just have had it with slow basketball. That said, I would be happy with a potato on the sideline as long as it meant Woody is gone lol

Lets see if the refs throw any flags this half. Footbasketball SEC style.

I like that he wins, but Drake is dead last in adjusted tempo in D1. 330th in fast break points. I can't speak for anyone other than myself, but after 8 years of ArchieWoodyBall I do not have much stomach left for slow, plodding half court systems.

I think you are right here, but I have to look at it from our perspective. If Woody had ridden TJD to a FF and also had a SS with B1G 1st place finish, we would not even be conjecturing about him not getting a fifth year. Because of that (and what I hear from people down here) I think Hubie is safe for another season. I know several UNC folks that can see the writing on the wall that he probably is not going to work out, but they are probably hamstrung in a way we are not from a performance perspective. If we ran Woody off with Hubie's record, we would deserve the "true fan" treatment lol

One of my employees is a UNC grad and seems to think the general consensus is the FF in year one/ACC title last season buys him one more season but the seat will be nuclear. Unless they completely implode, in which case all bets are off plus he was literally ACC coach of the year last season. If they canned him this season it would almost be a Tom Crean type situation with a smaller sample size and arguably more success. I don't think we have to worry about them being open at the same time.

Im not sure I’d go as far as to call NW a “good” team, but I think what is obvious is Collin’s has identified a system to maximize the talent he can get at a place like that. And they execute it really well. I’d classify them more in the realm of really well coached which puts them in a position to be competitive against teams they probably shouldn’t be purely from a talent perspective. Their defense was, to me, very impressive, hard nosed and made things very tough on Ballo. He was forced into long (for him) 2s and generally looked uncomfortable at the offensive end to me. Offensively they are an absolute mess and looked like a less athletic version of us. You add a dynamic scorer like Booie, and that team is probably top3 or so this year, IMO.

I tend to agree with you here on some level, but at a certain point "outside" optics need to stop mattering (though I could argue the booing, the bad losses, and the chants negate that argument entirely). The administration needs to be doing what is in the best interest of Indiana Basketball winning basketball games not worrying about if pundits think we fired Woody too soon. Our program is already embarrassing on a national scale, even debating the "optics" of firing a coach with his record simply reinforces the national narrative that we are not an elite program, much less a blue blood.
