Drake has a cool looking barn from what I can see when they pan out
-
Ready for Drake and Bradley!
-
I do wish if the report of the Stevens offer are accurate we’d throw that around to Oats or Few.
-
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, Drew’s faith is a huge part of his life and he works for a Baptist school lol. Direct quote to CBN: “Everything we do in the program is Christ-centered.” I have no issue with people professing their faith, but I have serious doubts how he’d fit at a liberal institution or if he’d even be willing to go to one. https://cbn.com/news/us/joy-jesus-others-yourself-baylor-university-mens-basketball-coach-opens-about-his-faith

Okay hear me out. Cronin as HC with Tim Crean as OC and we’d win infinity games. Boom. Problem solved.
-
See, you DO like Cronin lol he’s on the list!
-
I haven’t seen anything pro-Cronin. I am not pro-Cronin. We need someone who would get us consistently back in the conversation, and he would do that. So if we got to him, I’d be okay with it. Nobody is pining for Cronin. IMO Dolson cannot take a risk of Archie 2.0, and if we get to tier 3, Cronin is a safe bet. I just don’t think many of the safe/sure bets are realistic. Beard isn’t getting considered. My personal favorite McCasland probably isn’t leaving Texas. Of the realistic close to sure things, I think it’s McDermott. All of this assuming Dusty wouldn’t leave UM of course. Or it’s still Stevens and we are gonna be begging an apology from that new guy lol
-
He’s top-15ish by any metric. And this list has dudes farther up we wouldn’t want with inflated numbers from earlier in career like Calipari.
-
This 100%. I don’t want Cronin over some other options, but we are in zero position to turn up our noses at a guy who has made the tournament 14/15 seasons (counting Covid and this season) and is 230 games over .500 as a head coach and 40 over .500 in the B1G. Cronin isn’t remotely mediocre. We need stability and culture of winning, he would bring that.
-
I don’t ever bring it up because I don’t consider them sources, but I’ve heard the same RE: May. That it’s always been him until it isn’t, which is also why I’ve said if he doesn’t sign an extension soon, I’ll be pretty convinced that’s where this is headed. Reality is I don’t think anyone really knows what Dolson is doing except for Dolson who I trust not to Jack this up. Pretty low bar to clear after the last eight years.

I’ll be honest I do not understand the love affair with Beard from a strictly coaching perspective. He’s being canonized for a two year run at TT half a decade ago. His conference coaching record is pedestrian at the P4 level and seriously inflated by one outstanding year at TT, followed immediately by two mediocre seasons before leaving town. Maybe he would have made Texas a juggernaut, we will never know since he got fired for cause. His coaching record on paper looks worse than Cronin with less tournament and P4 experience. I think he’s a good coach, but the emotion of the disagreement I think has people putting him in some weird class by himself when the numbers and record don’t actually warrant that level of obsession.

I, for one, am having trouble keeping up with all the smokescreens. In all seriousness, it could still be possible just because Steven’s going to IU would be massive news across the NBA not just CBB. If there ever was news to keep quiet, it would be that. Not saying I think it’s likely, but possible.
-
Oof. Shut it down, you’ve won today.
-
Indica or sativa?
-
Pretty close to crossing Oats off the list if this keeps up. Let’s see if they comeback.
-
That would be almost as hilarious as the Eric Gordon flip.
-
I cannot imagine a world where given the other options Dolson hitches his career to a Brownell hire. What other Brads are there lol
-
Spiraling.
-
The bias you’re most likely seeing is engagement. Average fans aren’t on message boards and likely have no idea about Beard’s history. Everybody here is much more clued into CBB and educated about it as a whole than people watching YouTube videos. Just my opinion.
-
I live in the area and can say with certainty most Clemson fans would be thrilled if we took BB. Our transition to football school would be complete.
-
We could definitely do worse than Brownell, but whooo boy would that be a let down. But after the last 25 years also the most Indiana Basketball thing we could do lol
-
I’ve been thinking about tinfoil reasons for the generic “I love who I work for” denial. Maybe he’s just trying to be nicer about it this time. I can’t imagine at least some of his friends and family were less than impressed with the Masshole thing. I remember thinking at the time a simple “honored, but no thanks” would have sufficed. He didn’t need to basically make the state a joke for thinking he’d leave Boston. Maybe this in the inverse.

I think the UK and UL openings really tempered what people deem realistic. UK in particular swung at multiple bigger names than Pope and got turned down. Just my theory. If anyone was gonna make a big pull it would have been UK, Rupp Rafters was melting down over Pope getting hired. They’re all happy now but it was not super popular.

If there isn’t news of a restructured Dusty deal in the next couple weeks I am going to go ahead and assume that’s a done deal. I know some have alluded to it not mattering even if there’s a new deal, but that’s just not something I would believe. If Dusty signs a new contract, he’d be off the board IMO.

Probably a question USPS could deliver an answer on but what’s up with Butler? I was sure Matta would do well. Is it recruiting issues at Butler since they’re in the Big East now? BE just being as good as it is at the top? I don’t get many Butler games down here so love to watch when I do.
