Makes up for the 5000 calls they get a year that they shouldn't....like just grabbing that Mercer guy and no foul was called.
-
Sorry, resident Duke fan. Let's go MERCER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like OP's enthusiasm. As he said, there are a lot of ifs to make it come true. As a Kansas City Royals fan, I know that the thing about ifs is that they can all go your way or they can all break against you as they so often do for the Royals. Normally, though some of the ifs go your way and some don't. For now, we can dream about all the ifs going our way. It would be wonderful. However, if we are being reasonable, we shouldn't expect it to happen. It will likely lead to more disappointment next year than we would otherwise have. With what we know now, I think it's reasonable to expect a top half of the conference finish and an NCAA Tournament bid. But, we won't really know what to expect until we know who is on next season's team and we see how players have improved, which we won't find out until we see them next fall against good competition.

I think it would be better to start Stan, at least at first. We have yet to see a freshman wing really figure out what he is supposed to be doing in Crean's offense right away. Maybe Blackmon can be the guy who does, but without seeing him actually do it, I'd go with Stan. Let JBJ come off the bench and get acclimated in a role with less pressure. Once he starts to get it, then he can be put in the starting lineup.

Hoiberg is one of the best tacticians I've seen in a long time. IMO, he's better than Stevens. But he's at his alma mater and doing well. I doubt it would be easy to lure him away. He's probably no more realistic than Stevens.

Sure, why not? People find motivation from all kinds of different things. Maybe an awful year is what it will take to motivate this bunch. In that respect, it could be a good thing. It's a bit of a reach to assume that it will be, but it's certainly possible. I hope it does motivate them to work harder and improve.

Craft just pulled that guy to the ground.

An intentional foul on Mr. Rosy Cheeks himself?
-
Maybe he's talking about the renovations?

If Crean were asked, I wonder if he would see frat boys refusing to give free beer to an underage recruit as an incident of fan sabotage? Not that I believe the story as told. Doesn't pass the smell test.
-
I always wondered who in the hell that guy was who grabbed me and kissed me outside of Nick's that night. That was awkward, bro.

Iowa State's coach is a former NBA executive. If he wants NBA attention, that is a great place for him.

Texas Southern becomes only the 2nd team to ever lose to a 19 loss team in the NCAA tournament. Davis being Davis.

Hoosier Nation does not have much to root for this March. However, we have schadenfreude and the duty to help set the basketball world down the path of truth, justice and the American way. Tonight at 6:40 ET the Cal Poly Mustangs tip off against the Texas Southern Tigers. No one needs to be told who coaches Texas Southern. Do we want to see his team lasting more than one game in the NCAA Tournament? Hell no. Let's all band together and root on the mighty Mustangs. Pomeroy has our Mustangs favored by 3, but the support of Hoosier Nation can only help them in their battle against evil tonight. If you don't want to watch the game, say a prayer to the Basketball Gods at least. Do it for the children so that they may grow up in a world where the college basketball landscape is as it should be.

Huh? Did I say that it wasn't OK for you to do it? Just curious that some who likes to complain about what he perceives as flaming seems to enjoy doing it himself.
-
If you have the time, why not come up with an actual response then? Perhaps, you could seek out evidence to back up any of the writer's claims. For someone who complains about people being negative, you sure do like to fan the flames with flippant responses.
-
I agree. That was over-the-top and should not have been done. But, one guy tweeted a recruit. One guy. No reason to conflate that with any criticism and suggest that it is sabotaging the coach.
-
You expecting the response doesn't make the article any better.
-
Did this writer discover the Internet yesterday? Every single college program that has fans who actually care has many of those fans who question everything that the coach does. When teams lose, even great teams, fans come out in force to trash the coach and players. Yet, somehow, Indiana is different. Somehow, Indiana fans are sabotaging Crean and preventing him from having success. When do the excuses stop?
-
Well, I hope she has checked on that. It is a violation for a booster to contact a recruit and encourage him to go to a school. What makes one a booster? Contacting a recruit and encouraging him to go to a school. It's circular reasoning, but that's the rule. It might be different for families, but she best check.

I saw the original post. I agree with most of it, but there are a couple of points I disagree with. Instead of responding to discuss, I left it alone because lately any response to a positive post that is not 100% positive sets the board off in a positive v. negative flame war. Apparently, non-responses are also frowned upon?
-
If she tweeted Lee directly, it's a secondary NCAA violation. Fans from every school do it, but a player's mom should probably refrain. Doc, check with the compliance office to be sure.

WSU. I will root for Big 10 teams until the Final Four. I have no desire to see anyone in the conference hang a banner before we hang another one.
