I think it's a good ole fashioned Polka! -
Blast!! It's on FXS1! My carrier doesn't have the channel. Does anyone know where I can find the game?

(2015) C Antonio Vrankovic to Duke

Good hands. Travels a lot. Can use either hand pretty well. Can he dunk? Develop April. Don't further our roster into scholarship crunch Hades. -
I love your optimism. There's no doubt that some good pieces are coming together. Our perimeter should be one of the best backcourts in the nation next year. One of the reasons I'm not as excited for next year as you is because it seems that a couple of the pieces to the puzzle always seem to come up missing. I hope every player you mentioned above is here next year. Experience tells us that it might not happen.

You mentioned something here that I've wondered about since Stevens went to the league. Teaching. Does the game heavy schedule of the NBA with limited practice time fit his strengths as a teaching coach? While this is no gamebreaker, it makes me wonder if the college game is more attractive as a teacher? -

Indeed. The 3 PT foul by Yogi right at the close of the half against EW. Excellent expression! -

This one is my favorite! Does anyone remember the play that inspired this face? -
If there was cause to terminate the contract then I could see how Glass' "Tom's not the problem, he's part of the solution" comments would undermine those arguments. I think we would still be talking a huge buyout.

USA Today Sports gets in on the action...nothing really new here, just posted since it's a major news outlet. http://thebiglead.com/2014/12/16/brad-stevens-leaving-the-celtics-for-the-indiana-hoosiers-will-be-a-storyline-all-season/ -
If he did, would some be able to be happy for him? Joking aside, Luke's a great player. And joking aside, cancer sucks. I pray that a cure comes soon. I know from the prayer thread in the OT that there are many here who have loved ones who are fighting cancer. Prayers to you all!

Hoosier Transfers and Recruiting Targets
hoosierinIll replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I guess this would go here, but with two minutes left in the first half Luke Fischer has 10 (5-5) pts, 5 boards, 4 blocks and a dime in his debut for Marquette. Ouch. We sure could use him. Edit: sorry, just noticed the LF discussion in the CBB thread. -

So to make sense of this crazy thread... 1. The original article is OK because it's for a Boston audience. Of course we're familiar with the subject because it's brought up all the time, but the average folks in Boston who are "picking up a papar on tha way to the paaaark" (think Boston accent) this could be news. Really this could be news for almost anywhere in the US besides Indiana. 2. The Star followed up with their own article pointing out that this is news elsewhere, thereby getting more publicity and reigniting the Brad Stevens/IU talk. 3. IU fans have gone through old college basketball yearbooks again hoping that our current relationship can be severed so that the guy whose picture we have circled and starred will break up with his current suitor so that the "match made in heaven" will come to fruition. Are the feelings mutual? Only time will tell. 4. No one truly knows what Stevens thinks about the IU job. 5. We're in limbo with the current guy. 6. These discussions lead us down paths of anger and rage towards one another. Did I miss anything? -
Is that like turkey tryptophan? :)

I agree...the Big10 is down, but the B1G also easily won the challenge with the ACC. I would say that college BB is down in general this year outside of the top 5 or so teams. I feel pretty confident that we could finish in the top 5 in the B1G. "Good" will be a very relative term this year.

IU vs Grand Canyon game thread

Candy cane pants and playing FREEDOM Hall? Mercy... -
I guess the announcers just answered this question for us when they said, " Coach Crean treats the shoot around as a real practice." Oh boy.

Yogi needs to be reminded he can have fun out there. He's a good player, but man he looks like he's miserable at times. -

That was an interesting half of basketball. We live and die by the three. We started 5-9... Finished 2-11. Yeah, we chucked 20 threes! A couple of the shots, although fairly open, were a bit rushed. Defense wasn't good enough. I was hoping we'd see April. Maybe in the 2nd half? -

What's the likelihood of one/some/all of these scenarios happening? 1. After graduating, Yogi either transfers for a grad year, or tries his shot at the league? 2. Leading all freshman in scoring, Jimmy buckets goes pro after 1? (By the way, his D wasn't terrible tonight.) 3. Stan transfers? Being over signed by 2, the schollies are gonna come from somewhere. After a great back court this year, do we find ourselves back in the boat we were in last year next year with a couple guards and a ton of wings? Hope not...

I'd be curious to know if the "walk thru" and "practice" are being considered the same thing here. Over the last 7 years I've heard numerous analysts talk about how intense Crean's pregame "walk thrus" are. I do know that in the 2012-13 team practiced /watched film like crazy all the way to the tourney.

Kyle Kuric. I love Matt Roth, but KS offered Roth (who was Tyler Zeller's AAU teammate) over Kuric. Kuric might not have been quite as good as a shooter, but he was a heck of an athlete, defender and player. Would have loved to see him play at IU.

I hate, HATE the oversign and what it does to the overall culture and environment within and outside the program. Say Priller gets Creaned at the end of the season (I hope not)... He's encouraged to move on for reasons (you simply aren't good enough) that the coaches already knew to probably be true in the first place. I can see players moving on if something isn't jiving, but from all accounts Priller is busting his butt. To me that student bill of rights means very little (I understand there's other components) if it doesn't do something with the oversign. The oversign uses players to cover the coaches backside. There's a reason why those things work themselves out...

Holy smokes!!! That baseline jumper was garbage. He was fumbling the ball going up and I'm pretty sure he hoisted it with his guide hand. Chalk up another terrible loss for the B1G. But I'm not buying in to the idea that this means will finish near the top of the league. We, unfortunately, seem to play to the level of our competition which could mean that we'll win some big ones and lose some bad ones.

You're right. It's one thing to get beat by a better opponent giving it 100%. It's quite another thing to get beat on defense and not give a rip. I want to see guys get ticked off for missed defensive assignments! Half of the battle with defense is understanding. The other half is all effort.
