As long as you aren't in the back of the balcony, you will enjoy the game. It is about atmosphere. That and can you differentiate the players...and yes, from there, one can read the numbers on the shirts. The tradeoff of money for location can be extreme. It's a compromise. But don't let it spoil the experience. Enjoy it. Take lots of pictures. Be safe. It's a treat for all. There was a time, before Assembly Hall, in the old Fieldhouse...was at the end of the court in row 3. Joby Wright and George McGinnis...bigger than life! Leaping and flying towards the crowd...and slipping on the dust and sweat. Eyes wide open on those super-big players running right at you. That is a different perspective...as a student.

Yeah. There's a Community Jazz Ensemble tonight at Sinclair Community College at 7. These concerts are great and are a lot of fun. There's only one a year. Indiana beating Xavier is a slam dunk. Right?! Recording it. Was a tough decision. Wife and I both graduated from IU in '77. Can't jazztify it. Watching a recording of an IU game is not the same. Oh, well.

After predicting IU's score last week, I have to continue this streak. No problem. I feel extremely confident that IU will score. Hoosier's offense: 17 Hoosier's defense (aka MSU): 27 Me (nudge, nudge, wink, wink): 1

MSU is one step slower getting to the ball than UK, so far. And MSU is being affected by UK defense, believe it or not. Looking forward to seeing latter stages of this game and Kansas at 9:30. Not so much Xavier hosts Fairfield tonight at 9.

I thought this was a bye week. Doesn't an OSU buy our appearance? We need a volunteer to QB. (Speaking of the aforementioned service.) I was envisioning Barrel Rick or Aloha something... I know for a fact that both Ohio and Indiana have laws against school bullying. How about a class-action lawsuit against an OSU DL, their OL, their backfield, their backs, their coaches, their fans, against an OSU, the B1G, the NCAA, their politicians, the MSM,... Who did I miss?

Well, it is unanimous. The posters on this site have extreme confidence in IU's football team. We all feel certain that IU can hold an OSU team under 75. Early in the game, I thought Maryland's passes were crisp. But that changed and IU was in control 2 - 0. Then Maryland surged, hustled, scored. Maryland seemed to get energized midway through the 2nd half. IU hustled for 3/4 of the game and forced Maryland to hurry passes and make mistakes. Thought that IU was just hanging on the last 20 minutes. Whew! Great win...on the road...against a very good Maryland team. Good kicks to all.

29 minutes remaining. Goal Maryland.

Watched the entire first half. Maryland started with crisp passes but IU soon took command. IU's offense is sweet. Maryland tries long shot setups but they don't work with IU's defense. It has been really interesting considering Maryland is the one seed and at home.

I'm going to watch the soccer game. I'm excited! Go Hoosiers!

I am very heartened by being #41 on the first guesstimate effort relative to the first regular season game. What I mean is that I thought MHS would score more points and IU would score lots less. Next game I will slightly change my prediction model to take into account CMW's more liberal substitution likelihood. And our freshman...a tip of the ole toupee. Comon XJ, figure it out. Team hit those frees and the threes. Things are looking up.

Well, here we go. It's starting today! Get excited!? I'm looking forward to watching this team of upper classmen. It will be fun. Hope that it is a 'Season to Put in Ink'. Concerned about XJ. Hope he gets his groove back, soon. But I am numb and shell-shocked from all the changes in the world. The changes include war, sicknesses, inequality, lack of mutual respect, public education funding in jeopardy, media sound bites, hype, performance politics in lieu of compromise, the over concentration of capital, the failure of the NCAA...and the worst of all: the most likely loss in football to Purdue. Well, I don't know what to do about the latter. But for the rest: Vote! In the past 2+ decades we have watched Indiana University basketball generally taking a back seat in the BIG and nationally. Glad that IU has turned this sport around with the hire of CMW and giving basketball the support, it needs to succeed.

I have seen a lot in my time. I remember IU playing in the Rose Bowl. IU will return and play in the Rose Bowl again. But when we do, it will be on BTN+.

Archie Miller is available. His team beat OSU while at Dayton. Just think what he could do with our resources!
