Please give me a good reason to change my prediction from a 20 point loss to a 3 point win. One that makes sense from a perspective of matchups, coaching style etc. Not one because you want to better me in the Prediction Thread... Is X playing or suited up? Is IU going defend well against the quick passes and assists of Kansas' offense? Is IU going to be successful with our bread and butter..going inside? Is Gabe Cupps going to be able to hold his own against seasoned PGs? Is IU going to get to the line often seeing as how that would not be typical for Kansas? Rebounding and turnovers and well...

So, until otherwise informed by the next of kin or the appropriate official, this should be considered unconfirmed.

I remember big George at IU playing in with Joby Wright and Steve Downing. In the 1970–71 season at Indiana, McGinnis became the first sophomore to lead the Big Ten in scoring and rebounding. He averaged 29.9 points per game in his lone season in Bloomington earning All-American and All-Big Ten Honors in 1971. He played for coach Lou Watson, the year before IU hired Bob Knight. That front line was un-freakin'-believeable!

I do not know if Coach Woodson is stubborn. He could have an agenda that most posters do not see. Not saying he does...for how would I know? I think that he could be trying to get the 2nd teamers to really blossom. It has worked for Mac Mgbako. As to Galloway, I do not understand how his skills have not been taken advantage of. Run plays for him. Maybe he wants it too much. I do not blame Coach for sticking with him. There are things about recruiting, too. Some of the Coach's strategy might just be longer term thinking than just this game. Is he recruiting correctly by giving ten or eleven players ample time to show their stuff. If I was recruited by Coach Woodson, and he said it was likely that I would get 2nd string action, then the fact that I could show my stuff during prime time for long stretches might just be the ticket. Still too early to give a verdict on the team and the coach. Regardless, it is way too early to say that the loss to Auburn and the loss to CT were anything more than... Well, they were pretty horrible, weren't they?

Yeah, I meant to put that this coming weekend they might just lose to #2 Kansas. I still do not think that the signs say they won't make the NCAAT. Right now, probably not. But right now is not the criteria. I think they will learn to win. I thought that the Auburn game would be a tell. But, Ware got hammered relentlessly and backed down. IU got sloppy. Gave up on defense. And that platooning did not help. Why Coach Woodson let that go I haven't a clue. But, because of the last 9 games...does not to me indicate that they are out of the NCAAT. Too much is yet to be written.

They are 2 - 0 in the Big Ten. They are 7 - 2 overall. Lost to #5 and might lose to #2. I would say that the jury is still out. They have grown by leaps and bounds. They still have a long road in front of them. Why they stopped defending and Ware was backing down from their bigs is going to take a lot of scrutiny. Hopefully, we will learn a lot from this terrible beating. Right now, I contend that they are on the cusp of getting in to the NCAAT. They have shown promise. But playing last night with some swallowing of whistles at critical times in the first half...and that platooning crap...gotta learn how to play through it or change it. That is on Coach Woodson and his staff. If Woodson won't throw that chair, then I may have to. The Kansas game at home will be a much better showing. But not a win.
