Maryland vs Indiana - Game Thread, Fri., 12/1 @ 7 BTN

The Derps looked lost early. From the tipoff to the halftime, IU rolled. Maryland committed the first five turnovers. That first half was a hoot! My oh my! Glad to see Galloway in charge of the offense! Cleaned up inside, for sure! -

My picks were ok. Just the teams didn't score enough. -

Uh oh. Well, I am NOT changing my prediction. In fact, I may increase the spread in IU's favor. -

X and Reneau are game time decisions. I heard yesterday that Reneau was good to go. Have not heard anything about X. Except the injury report. My game time decision is bourbon, ribs and beer vs ribs and beer. Where is that server? Is BTN on this screen? Good! -

Xavier Johnson and Malik Reneau both are listed as questionable just now in the injury report. -

Where we are right now, we will find the holes and plug them, having great confidence, and with support of the fans and the administration we shall endeavor to persevere leaving no stone unturned while installing and implementing a new winning culture, one game, one play, one practice at a time, focused on the big picture, and otherwise amalgamating all for one and one for all. I'm glad that Coach Cignetti did not sound like the above. Straight talking is good. -

I also wonder. But since Indiana is marketing IU football right now.... They may be receiving offers that are slightly bigger than what the average fan would chip in for. And with those come some special requests...and some may be off that list. -

You may be correct. It was strange though considering this quote: "With roster turnover in question for next year, Archie Miller has offered a roster spot to McKinley Wright. Wright is currently committed to Miller’s old program, Dayton." Per: Could Dayton commit McKinley Wright join Archie Miller and the Hoosiers? - The Crimson Quarry I seem to remember that later it was reported or rumored that the AD nixed it. It seemed implied that it was bad form to poach a signed recruit. But maybe I interpreted it incorrectly and it had more of your slant about existing players still had those slots. So we had Josh Newkirk. Well, back to my original questions: Will Coach Cignetti bring those recruits signed originally with JM and/or transfer portal entries? -

I wonder if Coach Cignetti will be allowed to offer recruits and/or portal transfers from James Madison. I seem to recollect that the IU Administration (AD?) stopped Archie Miller from bringing in a PG he had recruited previously to Dayton. Not sure if it is apples to apples comparison. -

Indiana football news other than they lost again? Wait! What? A really good experienced and winning football coach hire at Indiana? Yes! Welcome Coach Cignetti! Good luck. Is this real life or is it just fantasy? -

Maybe it was because Rider did not put up any defense at the 3 line. Maryland had such a big day. Maryland cruised past Rider 103-76 on Tuesday evening at the XFINITY Center. Maryland, who controlled the boards and the paint all night, attempted 45 free throws total. Maryland did anything they wanted. Even Geronimo has a great first half. Only 4 players scored for Maryland. Nothing in that game is a good predictor of what happens in other games...unless one plays Rider at home. It won't be that way in Assembly Hall against the Hoosiers. Game Day at Indiana! -

I have a real good friend here in Ohio, that is a rabid OSU fan. He is a High School and Middle School coach of basketball, and conditioning. He is pumped that IU got Coach Cignetti. Thinks he will be great for IU and for the Big Ten. But what does he know since he is an OSU fan? Actually the guy is sharp and he is right. -

Sorry, missed where it was posted it was from campus. That definitely is what I was looking for. Hard to believe that I would have missed it. I am a technical contract reviewer professional. Kind of the opposite from the silliness I post. There are enough rumors going around and I wanted to step past that. I was looking for someone to comment that there actually was an X siting. I read your post that 'some people said'...and didn't see the 'campus' reference. Maybe it was added as an edit after I read it. I did not intend to 'dismiss' you or your post. I was looking for something other than 'some people'. I strive to say things that are not personal. I discuss posts...not the poster. My favorite saying might just be: Listen with the intent to understand; not with the intent to respond. It is difficult, sometimes, for me to do that. -

I am not going to derail this thread. So read this if interested in Musk's bigotry and politics. Elon Musk prepares to walk away from the smoking crater that was Twitter (dailykos.com) -

Would be happy to help. But not on X. How about Mastadon? I gave up the bird when Musk gave Democracy the bird and the shaft. -

Nope. Every darn one of them had at least one loss in football and/or basketball. Incompetent. I'm telling you. And those facilities...as soon as they are remodeled or built, they get older. With all the money we have...I mean, even Indiana State's team name means something. For crying out loud. /s -

Being a Freshman at IU was a very long 6 years of my life. With over 200 undergraduate credits between IU BS and UW-M BS, that's a lot of BS. That plus there were 4 years of military stuck in there somewhere. I would fall on the sword, but I may not like being addressed as Father Time by the youngins. And I think that the mainframe computer with the decks of punch cards for programming may have changed some. Well, maybe they would accept me in Cultural Anthropology as a TA. I've got some insight to the late 60's and the Watergate and if I don't remember it all I can make it up. The transition to Assembly Hall and the early years of RMK were far out. -

Actually, I do understand the silence. I wasn't looking for rumors or the fall-back position of Big Ten universities. I was looking for someone on campus that had seen Xavier very recently. It is completely understandable if there is no answer to my question. No answer or no update is just that. No more. It's cool. -

Last night (Tuesday) Maryland 103 vs Rider 76. Jordan Geronimo didn't miss any of his six field goals and was 3 of 5 from the free-throw line for 15 points for Maryland (4-3).
