Big Archie fan while he was in Dayton. He was not in my short list to be hired by IU. I was shocked. Wondered if he could make it in the pressure cooker of IU. Could he recruit? He did motivate his team in Dayton to play like a team. The sum was greater than the parts. He did not get the support at IU from the administration that Coach Woody got. Archie could not get his arms around the individuals that he got stuck with at IU. Some of the players did not want to work hard on defense. They did not get assists. The point guards could not get the ball into play. No one moved. The administration did not help. Archie had to go. For whatever reason. It was totally phukd. Some of the same problems are experienced since Woody got here. But Woody had TJD. But now some of the team does not want to be here or work. Woody has refused to get that corrected until just a few later games in the 2nd half. Can't get some bigs clogging up the inside at the detriment of a fluid offense and great defense. PS. No I'm not just from Dayton. I graduated from IU when we went undefeated. My whole immediate family loves IU. Am from Evansville Bosse. But I have been around. After going to IU/Business...also went to Wisconsin...still cheering for IU at each game.

On the contrary. Be very worried. If Woody's team wins out and makes a mark post season... Well, it ain't over until the fat chair of the BOT says it's over.

Way back when, we helped my inlaws move. My MIL had dementia and depression. Terrible stuff. Well, she was stressed. Didn't like the new place. Couldn't find things because we were not finished unpacking. She accused me of stealing her wire hangers. How the heck did she figure that I had coveted those forever? So take your Mom's hangers and hide them. Swap those for the information you seek. Good luck.

It wasn't Archie's fault at IU. Some of the players had overinflated balls.

So good to have you back, BR. Hope that you got that thing under your belt under control this time. Thanks for the Archie Miller is anointed insider information. There are so few of us left that thought that Archie walked on water in Dayton. And when at IU...they just tossed him into Showalter Fountain then the Jordan River then dragged him through Fee Lane and threw him off of the Library. So very sad. Just like PeeWee Herman, Archie is rebounding. Nice.

That is not the Archie Miller that was at Dayton. Personally met him a few times. Was not coached by him. Did not know him socially. Never heard that before. I don't think that he came across as the Dan D type. Nor was he RMK. He really did get dealt with unfairly by limiting his control of who to get rid of and the players did not buy into his pack line defense or team offense. But it is the coach that has to fix anything that is broken. He just could not fix the IU administration. I did see that he got his dander up and would not flex much of his coaching schemes. But hey. He also was not allowed to bring in his PG. Or get rid of the locker room mess. And Romeo was injured early on...his shooting hand. Maybe, just maybe, IU brought the Mr. Hyde out of him. I did not see that.

More of a California Cab lover here. But really do love visiting northern Italy. Read a little about the wine. Wondering...usually they do not store in wooden casks. Have you tried other vintages? Visited some vinyards in Italy, France and just recently, Portugal. Been to Napa and other areas both south of LA and south of Tijuana. We regularly visit Brandeberry Winery near Yellow Springs OH. When I go to whites, I like New Zealand cab blanc. Used to drink some sweet German Spätlese Mit Predakat. Like French oak over American oak aged...not as much pine flavor.

I was there with family in the last row in Rupp Arena. Had thrown in the towel at the half. Had to eat that same towel in the 2nd half. Wow! So many wonderful memories from just that one game. Kentucky fans were cheering for IU. They hate Dook. AJ Moye's block of future NBA All Star Boozer's attempted dunk. Jared Jeffries on fire. A superb team with teamwork. Drama on steroids. No.1 Dook goes down! IU reaches the Final game the next week. Last row in the arena...great seats, I kid you not.

I do not know if the poster is just not as bright as the average rock. Or, if the poster is just trolling. Or both. Could just be sloppy in presenting a point. That or the concept that some do not care about other people's opinions and thoughts and hopes. I agree with Dale C. And my favorite rule of thumb which is taught in some supervisor training: Listen with the intent to understand. Not with the intent to just respond.

If I could pick one reason why IU beat Purdue...it was because of the quick ball players on the perimeter playing much better defense. Get that 2nd big off of the court. One at a time please. If, of course, the matchups call for it. It also opened up the lane for the offense to be more...varied.

Be sure to get a reservation if going to Mama DiSalvo's. Another Italian restaurant on 5th street is Jimmy's. But take someone else's bank account. It is way too pricey. It is in the previous Franco's location.

    Comedic Relief/Joke Thread

I gave up on New Year's Resolutions. I tried to jog once. Ice kept falling out of my glass. My wife says that I don't listen to her or something like that. My neighbor just banged on the wall at 4:20 in the morning. Can you believe it? Lucky that I was still up playing music. He yelled: Can I have a little respect? I said: OK, I like Aretha Franklin, too! This one's for you. My wife always wanted a milk bath for a birthday present. So, on her birthday, I went to the local dairy and told the manager that I needed enough milk for my wife's bath. "Do you want it pasteurized?" the guy asked. I told him: "No I think just up around her armpits will be about right."

Bill's Donuts: Bill's Donut Shop - Open 24 Hours | 7 Days a Week If you like sandwiches and a deli with an eastern Europe flavor: Charlie's Imports. Charlie's Deli & Catering They sell paprika by the kilo. I kid you not. Walk through the bread refrigerator. Do you like carryout sandwiches that are a little out of the ordinary? Dayton has an ethnic Eastern European history. They have a Polish Country Club...it is not known by that name. It is definitely not upscale. Amber Rose Restaurant I have mixed feelings about this place...I am not the biggest fan of the fare.

If you like Columbian...try El Meson. South Dixie Dr., south of the UD arena by 5 miles or so. Interesting place and good food. Coopers Hawk is a little upscale and has interesting wines. South of the arena in Centerville. Figlio's in the Town and Country shopping center in Kettering has wood-fired pizza. Mama DiSalvos Italian... Jimmy's Ladder 11 is a bar with a big menu near the UD campus...but not too close. Eudora brewery, southeast, is decent sized and ok. For an historical brewery, right next to the UD Arena...across the river...is the Carillon brewery. Carillon Brewing Co. - Dayton History
