Remembering old eateries in B'town: Tao House at Washington and 10th. Fuchsia plants all overhead. Trucker sammy. Brown rice. French toast with almond, orange, nutmeg. Waitresses in jangly jewelry and light cotton flowing skirts with embroidery...blissfully serving food learned from the Ashram. You can get the Tao Cookbook from Amazon but it is published by the Indiana University Press so go there instead. My SIL is practicing Hindu...and my niece and her family. Went to a new Hindu Shrine one hour NE of Philly...recently. And just visited the one on the SE side of B'town. Rudi's Bakery previously the Ashram Bakery near the Tao. What was that Hungry Cookie? The other bakery across from Teter that had special filled cupcakes to die for. The Vienna Dog House introduced me to Falafel but I liked their breakfast coffee cake and other vegetarian stuff. The Gold Rush...with caviar on the buffet...yuk...Reminds me of Tom Hanks in Big. The Earth Kitchen...and Two Bit Rush...and Runcible Spoon... Who was that guy that always hung around those first two spots? Alan? Zeus' Gyros...Gables...Tortilla Flat...Mother Bear's...Uptown... Not to mention the coffee shop below the Memorial Union cafeteria that had weekend folk music...wasn't the Rathskeller...that name I can't recall. And that concrete block bar/dive rugby club players frequented just west of Mother Bear's. Love me some Bluebird!!!!!!! Flashback time: I got my first radial haircut (Afro-like) at a shop in the complex on Kirkwood. Miss most of my hair. At least I still have the 'stache!

I'm practicing for the big game. Already broke the seal on some Ezra Brooks 99 (with a port wine cask for 6 months). 78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malted barley. Has a cinnamon spice hotness and caramel/chocolate sweetness and oak...very nice taste. Has a floral or fruit hint going on. Requires more practicing. Goes for just over $35 here in western Ohio. It was the above unique port wine cask that got me. Having just visited Portugal last year and sampled all sorts of port there... And I do not like the prices of bourbon today. Being somewhat frugal on my purchases, I squeak if looking at a bottle over $50. But New Riff has some good stuff. My dad drank some KY Tavern, Old Crow, Jim Beam, Old Grandad...I still remember fondly my first shot.

Has Indiana released a full schedule with times and broadcast network/streaming? Last year there was a posting about Peacock for a year at a reduced price. Thought that I had seen a schedule with broadcast channels earlier. Anyone have a deal sighted? In Dayton OH, I have Metronet fibre and Hulu TV Live. Still have Peacock, presently for another two months then the subscription is up. Thanks. (Same question for FB.)

Reminds me of a story about the plains indians (native Americans): Back in the day native Americans roamed the plains. The women of this one tribe competed for status in two ways: through the number of sons they produced and by the quality of the animal hides they sat on. Now this tribe had three high status squaws. One sat with her son on a pony hide. The second sat with her son on a buffalo hide. But the third squaw had as much status as both of them because she sat with her two sons on a hippopotamus hide. My lesson to you is that the squaw of the hippopotamus is equal to the sons of the squaws of the other two hides.

I approve of the addition of this thread. It is very easy to criticize Coach Woodson. Heck, it is easy to criticize anyone who is in a position and has to make decisions. But Coach Woody has made quite a few bad ones. He also has made some good ones. But the bottom line is the product on the floor and off court, how they represent Indiana University. Just win, baby! (Now for the triggering of those that aren't 'True Fans'. I could say that IU gave RMK 4 or 5 years before he hung the first NC Championship banner. And how many years did they give Tom Cringe, I mean Crean?) Heh /s And no, I do not unreservedly support a coach that does not produce. Woody is on double not-secret probation. He is walking the plank as we speak.

Watched the soccer game between France and USA. France really pressured USA the whole game. USA looked sloppy passing and their defense was soft but jelled around the goal. 0 - 0 at the half. In the 2nd period again, France pressured, and the USA had some great opportunities. Turned the game off after it was 3 France, zip USA. Not a happy camper. And my best friend has cancer. Will see him Thursday to get the whole picture. But I do have a new quiver of bad jokes. He is an OSU fan. Told him I know acupuncture. En garde!
