IU is bringing the effort. Now draw a couple of fouls. And quit with throwing the ball to NWern. Passing the ball and getting assists are nice. Just finish those shots in the lane.

Carlyle waiting for the rebound to come to him at the half court. Of course it didn't.

Got to get the offense in gear. Defend NWern's #2. Watch the turnovers. Duh.

3 out of 4 times that I have changed my prediction; I lost big points on the change. Share the ball, defend, keep fouls down, rebound, do not dribble into trouble ...if Mgbako gets out of his slump...Neither he nor Reneau are shut down defenders...but NWern has some questionable defenders, too. And if Coach Woody keeps a good mix of players on the court and they show some serious grit when things inevitably get rough/tough. I think that Ballo will be fine, in part because Reneau just may be available for breathers. To me it is the PG matchup. If Miles Rice does not lose his cool and/or get into foul trouble, that just might get IU over the hump at NWern. And overall turnovers...they are the big killer. The pressure is going to be on the guards. It is apparent...that any team can beat any other team. It is going to be a fun game.
  8. If Mgbako plays well... Indiana 76 NWSE Whatever 73 Boo is missed, happily. They are a mess without him. IU is over the hump. IU is keeping turnovers to a minimum. And blocking out. And playing ball.

Seems to me that the world needs to spin a little more and Lunardi is spinning a little early. But, it is all about clicks at this point for him.

Indiana won this game because of execution being just slightly better. OSU shot better in all respects: 2s, 3s and FTs. Indiana got the ball more. Outrebounded OSU by 5, steals, blocks, assists, all barely in IU's favor. Even the fouls were even at 18. Tough game to watch. Tough win for IU. IU showed just enough grit on the road for a decent conference win against a decent team. Does it mean anything? Oh hell yes. Does it save Woody? Oh hell no. But the decision by the judge has not yet been announced.

And they do not get blown out of 4 games by 20 points or more.

Searching the internet: The NCAA basketball quadrant system is a way of categorizing wins and losses based on the NET ranking of opponents played12. The quadrant system is broken down into four sections, with the top two quadrants having the most importance2. Here is how the NCAA breaks down its quadrant system1: Quadrant 1: Home 1-30; Neutral 1-50; Away 1-75. Quadrant 2: Home 31-75; Neutral 51-100; Away 76-135. Quadrant 3: Home 76-160; Neutral 101-200; Away 136-240. Quadrant 4: Home 161-plus; Neutral 201-plus; Away 241-plus. Last night, Indiana was away with an NET ranking close to 60. And OSU was at home with an NET ranking close to 29 or 31. So that is a Quadrant 1 win or extremely close to it. Remember, the final rankings will look at the end-of-the season NETs. So depending on how these teams do the rest of the season, the NET rankings may go in either direction...changing which Quadrant the teams are in for a past game. To find the NET of every Division 1 team, I search for Kenpom or Pomeroy. They are updated soon after each game. At a point in the season, I believe that the NCAA may start posting their own NET. I have read that they are very similar but have not verified that. It is close enough.,.

I am a fan of Galloway. But he has regressed. Leal is steady and a lineup change is needed.
  19. With Royal and Meech out. Changing, again, my prediction... IU wins 75 OSU sucks nuts 73

So is Reneau still out because of a bruise to his leg? Must be really something.
  21. This changes my pRediction: I 73 O 79 I thought that Dan Dakich would be the interim HC by this game. He did such a good job last time in a similar situation. He was loved by the team, the administration and not to mention, himself. /s

I was trying to rationalize why Dolson is not doing what you say now. Actually, I agree with you. So, obviously...Dolson has his reasons for not doing just that. Unless, hopefully, they are renegotiating the buyout as we are sitting here. Why is Woody still HC?

If Quinn says tonight is Woody's last game, then it is. I think that Woody is here because they will let the whole season play out. Then they will evaluate the whole. We all know that they are almost over the hump. Right? /s And putting in an assistant as temporary HC is just asking for trouble from the perspective of the AD. What happens if the assistant does well with the team? Does that make the AD look bad? Do you have to hire the assistant? What fans want has very little to do with where we are with a new HC search...and the current coach's status. Unless you have lots of cash to help. As a fan...I say negotiate a buyout now. And dump him. But make clear that whoever is the acting is not guaranteed anything. Provided, however, that you have a guaranteed...experienced...exceptional college basketball coach that feelers all but signed a new contract for after the end of both teams' games this season.
