Congratulations to all those prognosticators that have clearly divined that IU is not a top 10 team. But, "... the moving finger having writ, moves on..." (quoting the original OK)...this week I foresee that Indiana football will not lose.

After losing to 3 top 10 teams...I'm beginning to realize that IU is not a top 10 team. Maybe Tom Allen needs to change the flavor of his gum.

So Chucky, did I say it was good to hear your negativity this early in the game? Go IU!

No running game against Penn St defensive line. And receivers not in open. Comon IU.

Just to help get into the feeling of game day here are some not so trivial facts about Penn. St.: 1. Penn. State has a beautiful campus. Lovely old campus with many mature trees and beautiful landscaping highlight any visit. Located in a small town in the rolling hills of PA, creative minds got together and named the town: State College. Original...and great marketing...ahem. 2. They do have an original display of a skeleton of a mule in one of their buildings. Uh, ok...
  9. I predict Indiana comes away from Happy Valley with a win! Indiana stops Penn State's ground game...what there is of it, anyway. Penn State tries to pass and pass. Indiana's backs give up lots of room...oh, crap. Pressure on their QB? No, why? Turnovers go to Penn State. But, if IU can control the ball. Make the stops...yeah, right. And kick oodles of field goals...oh, well. They should have been TDs. On second thought...for purposes of this post: IU 20 Penn State 35 Does this mean no Rose Bowl, again?! Need better OC and DC and good decisions by our QB and receivers with hands and DBs and ...lines...and...punter...football gods...referees...breaks...miracles...sipping bourbon.... Coach Mike Woodsen...You're our only hope. Actually, the tough competition...Iowa, Cincy, PSU...lend me to think that IU has a decent team. They could win any game. Go IU!

    Remaining 2021 Season Predictions

Murphy may have had a little to do with IU football since 1969 and Hep years until now. But, it may also have to do with Corso, the administration, the B1G, the B1G East, and demographics. Corso, for example, was roomate of Burt Reynolds at LSU. That should explain some of the brain damage. Demographics are hugely against IU and Purdue. Lower population in Indiana as say compared to Ohio. In Indiana we are competing with Notre Dame, Purdue and Northwestern, Illinois, Michigan and MSU...not to mention Ohio State that has a virtual B1G monopoly in a more populous state...Ohio. The administration, the B1G and the B1G East tilted the playing field...and, in many ways, still do. I remember living in Briscoe and then 4 years later after military service in McNutt and partying with some of the football team. When a bunch of us rented on 11th street the football team friends stopped by sometimes for a keg or three and a breather. Think IU won 4 home games in 3 years....but my memory of those games is sketchy...

To quote Coach Mike Davis back in '04: "We're number four! We're number four!" Thanks for tallying this. However, since I always pick IU, this just may be my peak weekly score. Hope not. Go Hoosiers!

    Remaining 2021 Season Predictions

What? Over!? Did you say over? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when Lee Corso had the team picture at OSU while IU was ahead? Well, never mind that. It ain't over because IU is getting better and better. Who's with me? Come on! ....... What the heck happened to the IU fans I used to know? Where's the spirit? This could be the best season in our football fan lives but you are letting it be the worst. This requires a stupid and futile prediction by yours truly. Penn State...dead. MSU...dead. OSU...dead. Maryland...dead. Michigan...dead. Rutgers...dead. IU 10 - 2
  13. Fryfogle got a first down. IU controlling.
  14. Kick out of bounds. Any other predictions?
  15. Refs didn't miss it. Just didn't call it.
  16. Too little time left...thank goodness. IU has this in the bag.
  17. Zappe transferred to WKU after Houston Baptist U. offensive coordinator, Zach Kittley, accepted a job with the Hilltoppers and two of his favorite targets, brothers Jerreth Sterns and Josh Sterns, announced they would be transferring to WKU. Following Zappe's decision, another wide receiver, Ben Ratzlaff, also announced that he would be grad transferring to The Hill. Jerreth, Josh and Ratzlaff combined to produce 89 receptions (63.1% of Zappe's total) for 1,256 yards (68.5%) and 12 touchdowns (80%) in 2020.
  18. McFadden is like a heat seeking missile.
