If Coach Woody would wear a suit at Nebraska...would he look like Winston Churchill? (Answer: Close but no cigar.) Coach Woody casually walks into arenas for away games. (Because he isn't wearing a suit. Duh.) He really should wear a suit jacket and pants to match. The vest is yet to come. Thank you. Thank you. I will be here all week. -

Got some small batch bourbon to unwrap tonight. Nothing super special there except for Indiana getting rid of the road hurdle. Prediction: X plays a decent game. Doesn't go crazy on 3 attempts. Nor does he get pulled for 2 fouls early. Phin keeps gaining confidence. The home team guards switch from their colors to Black and Blue...and play like their shoes are 3 sizes too large. PS does ok. Race gets a double double. Trayce gets happy and gets happier. Galloway and Geronimo do their thing and how. The home team best player goes off the court and last is seen walking off into the night mumbling something like: Rebound?! (or) Reboot?! (or) Refund?! And Coach Woody wears a suit! Indiana fans really do know the game. And we have to teach our offspring how to play the team sport. Setting the WAYBAC Machine to 1993, I took the family to Assembly Hall. At the half, I was telling my 6-year old daughter about defense and movement and etc. After a really decent introduction to how to play the game...I asked if she had any questions. She said: "If that guy over there comes up and asks if you want popcorn, could you say yes?" -

Just a courtesy reminder...this thread is not the prediction thread. But, I do agree that IU has a really decent chance of winning. I just want to know how to find which players are likely to suit up. Been on some Iowa fan sites and haven't seen anything about players being ready. Just Iowa fans lamenting that Iowa needs work on shot selection, defense and rebounding. And they are very, very worried about IU winning. -
1. Luther Allison's 1973 straight Chicago blues album: Bad News is Coming. Underappreciated Luther Allison played at the Bluebird in B'town in 1977. Not innovative, but wonderfully committed. If you love Chicago blues..you just gotta do it. 2. Samantha Fish 2017 funky guitarist, bandleader and singer does raw blues with no regret. Belle of the West. Saw her trio in Henderson KY just last year at the Handy Bluesfest. Powerful guitar...oh my! It took off! So that fact may exclude her album from your list. But she has earlier ones. 3. Noah Wotherspoon, Dayton blues and delta blues is dynomite live. Mystic Mud 2015. In 2015, Wotherspoon received the Best Guitarist Award at the International Blues Challenge and the band placed 2nd in the finals. I've got the blues and I feel good. Enjoy.

Thinking of filing a lawsuit...against Woody and the IU Athletics Department. Temporary injunction is sought to force our coaches to wear suits at all men's basketball games that they represent Indiana University. I'm seeking funding for the lawsuit. That or any IU fans that are lawyers...speak up. Contact me at #BeatIowaintoaPulp... As an aside, I wonder if a plaid sports coat would be adequate... -
Prediction League (Game 16 - Iowa 1/13/22)

What is the difference between Iowa and Iowa State basketball? Iowa State won 73 - 53 against Iowa in December.. Indiana 73 Iowa 63 Iowa doesn't defend the 3. Iowa's guards are suspect. Rebounding is a challenge for Iowa. Iowa has played the tough side of the B1G, though. We all know what IU has to do. IU has to defend, rebound, start early, keep X in the game, move, get TJD touches, and most importantly...coach has to wear a suit dammit...especially since this is a road game. -

Almost every time TJD gets beat and lets a guy go around for the basket. No help defense almost the whole game. -

I really got fired up for the OSU game. Living in Dayton OH and seeing the game with OSU fans gets one riled up. Especially after loosing to OSU and usually seeing those in person. Now it is sad that lil Pitino is no longer the coach at Watsamaata U. But the new coach has cobbled together a decent team. Well, seems better than pre-season guesses. But they should be vulnerable inside. And if they don't get comfortable shooting from downtown...then it could be lights out for them. A couple of things: 1. Woody has to wear a suit and tie; 2. defense has to be played tough by IU; 3. guards have to play like they fit in the B1G. Do all that and IU brings home the bacon. Go IU! It is Wack-A-Gopher time. -
Some history of Balzelak: Started with Alter for two years before committing to Missouri. Was listed at 6-4 and 215 as senior in high school. Wanted to play basketball, too. But injuries stopped that. https://www.daytondailynews.com/sports/alter-good-pledge-play-football-missouri/B9XxIqM8G6cTEfGh58Ph7N/

Breaking Away - B Town Candy Stripes 71 Whatsamaata U - Frostbite Falls Squirrels 61 Minny looked decent in their early games but think they weren't projected to be really good. MSU beat UM by rebounding, hitting 3's and defending...then finished well. UI won by 23 at Minnesota 2 days ago. Kofi Cockburn was great with a double double 29 points...and the Orange and Blue ballers did almost everything right. IU plays another almost full game. Once again X doesn't get into trouble. TJD gets happy. Race rebounds like a man on a mission. Guards and forwards get 5 3's and think that is good....but it's not. Turnovers stay in the range of 13. Defense! Students are back. And coaches wear suits...so we win. -
That may be the truth here in the USA. But, please note that I clearly was explaining what I ordered in Europe and Italy. I would not get Americano in the USA. Never have...actually.

An espresso is essentially the base of an Americano, but do not think that an Americano is weaker tasting or a “watered down” version of an espresso. Interestingly, adding water to a thick, concentrated espresso does not dilute its taste. In fact, by adding a small amount of hot water, complex flavors are unlocked and released. It also mellows out the bitterness that some people find overpowering, and it thins out the viscous texture of the espresso. By the way, many do not like strong, think coffees. Me included. I order Americano when in Europe. It is a matter of taste and what we like. If nothing similar is offered...that is when to order it.

Not a fan of Starbucks here. Their dark is much too much for me. Thinking, and I may be wrong, that they use double the grounds per drink than I like. Go to a local coffee shop. Talk to the barrista about what you like and let them fix you up. If you like flavored coffees then try a chocolate-mint and cream latte. Or, a medium roast small cup of mocha...might be the ticket. Take your time savoring. Check out some coffee drinkers sites about tasting and aromas for beginners. And have some dark choclate with a cup of joe. Maybe a little whiskey with an afternoon cup after chopping wood in the cold. Or a white or dark Russian drink. Or a mocha cheese cake. I don't typically add any milk or sugar or anything. Just medium roast black coffee. But everybody's tastes are different. Been to Italy...pass on espresso. In Europe one has to ask for Americano. In Latin America the Brazilian coffee-flavored beer is waaay too much...but the regular grind coffee can be wonderful. Starbucks does make a decent Brazilian medium roast. If some people have acid reflux challenges and avoid coffee, there are certain things that can be done easily to avoid the acid in the drink. And it results in an excellent cup.

Step-by-step way to have a great day: 1. Drink coffee. I have to have my coffee in the morning. If I don't get coffee...then everything seems...unreal...kind of backwards. And coffee spelled backwards is eeffoc. Mornings without coffee and I cannot give eeffoc. Get it? Nudge, nudge... Freshly roasted, ground as one needs it, and not dark...medium roast. Not citrusy. Not berries. Still looking for a decent and less expensive site online... Thanks so much for the thread. I remember Runcible Spoon and Two-Bit Rush. My first date with my wife was at the former.

IUBB vs #13/12 Ohio State - 01/06/22 @ 7:00 on FS1
Dave from Dayton replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
That was exciting! Did see that play at Ohio State fan site Eleven Warriors. But it was stuck in the middle of the game highlights. Was reflecting on the game. At first TJD missed 3, I think, and I held my breath. OSU got an 8-point lead and I was sitting back shaking my head. But the defense won the game. Sharing the ball on offense won the game. Movement won the game. Controlling the paint on offense and defense won the game. Messing with OSU's passing lanes won the game. Attitude...I mean I have hardly ever seen the swagger from IU like last night. Slamming the ball off of Brunk's head was quite a statement. TJD talking to OSU players...have you seen that before? I loved the 19 second game buzzer going off. Loved the assists and the scorers thanking the feeders. And IU did get some luck going...but they made the luck. I wonder about OSU players that didn't perform their usual jump shooting and going after the loose balls after the first 8 minutes or so. Their Covid break could explain their lethargy and lack of legs. Maybe. They just got lucky winning their last game in OT. Galloway is a spark. Good to have one on the team! IU blew out #13 at SSAH. But the stars and planets were all in alignment. Did it make up for the loss at PSU? No, not really. Don't get cocky, kids. -

Hey, enough of the old folks dissing. I pulled an all nighter last night! So there! * spoiler alert: Didn't have to get up to go to the bathroom all night. Besides, we can make a lot of noise with our false teeth. I mean 'roid rage...oh yes! I'm going to be early and sit under one of the baskets. If I have to, when down the stretch, when OSU is shooting a free throw, I will pull out my colostomy bag. Just imagine the splatter factor.... Been watching Harry Potter. Use my cane for a wand. And I do know some curses. 'Get off my lawn!' (insert curse). Go IU! -
Prediction League (Game 14 - Ohio State 1/6/22)
Dave from Dayton replied to Str8Hoosiers's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I'm changing my prediction. I cannot pick OSU to win at AH. Defense kicks in. Movement on offense without the ball. Transition points. Rebounds. Hit 3's early and often. IU makes FTs down the stretch. X only gets 1 foul the whole game. Galloway returns. And most importantly, coaching staff wears suits. OSU 68 IU 70 My meds must have kicked in. It's a wonderful life. Be safe.
