Too bad this isn't on BTN+ like the basketball game last night. Really enjoyed the game and especially the camera work.

I cannot see the shove. I cannot see Zoot's hand or his arm until TJD's reaction. One can speculate that there was no reason for Zoot to shove or hit TJD. That is probably what happened. But, TJD may have tripped and Zoot may have tried to grab him to help. We cannot see enough to tell. Likely didn't happen. My original post was about not seeing the whole episode. I think that a Flagrant 2 was the right call. I just would have liked to see a clearer video from a better angle of the whole thing. As an aside, there was some shoving and discussion underneath the basket before this happened. TJD had gone eyeball to eyeball with this player, if I remember correctly. Doesn't excuse the Flagrant 2 foul though.

Appreciate this video clip. Thanks. But, it is not at the right angle. And it does not actually show anything except TJD's reaction. I have no doubt that no video exists that shows the actual sequence adequately. Unless some person in the stands has it. Because BTN+ camera may have been on the cheerleaders. Earlier action showed some shoving going on underneath the basket at the other end. So one could speculate that there was some action leading up to the Flagrant 2 foul. TJD did have at least 7 blocks and IU's front line dominated.

I will bet a beer that IU scores at least one field goal. That and Tom Allen gets excited during the game. And McFadden gets at least one tackle. And I bet that our TE will be underutilized...and crossing routes should be used lots more...and at some point we will just keep pounding up the middle for little gain. For want of a couple of QBs, etc... Rutgers beat Illinois and played Michigan tough on the road...so this is no cakewalk. IU wins this...but I'm not betting on it. I've read that IU is favored by 7...don't know what the latest line is.

It has been a long time since I've enjoyed a game as much as last night. So glad that TJD and Race are back and really doing well. And improving! To say that IU's front court was dominating really is sweet. Phin is loose and playing as well as he can. Really happy that he doesn't stop above the key and slow the offense. But Xavier set the mood for the night. Well, he and the front court. Defense is looking really good. Albeit against NIU...but better. The players, the team, hustled the whole dang night! This! One of the most exciting things is watching our point guard Xavier. It was so obvious that PG was one very important cog that IU was missing. I almost couldn't handle the camera work on BTN+. My wife and I were reacting to the camera on the shooter but not following the ball to the hoop. The close ups missed action.The camera would follow a player walking way down the court as the action happened at the other basket. But I was laughing so hard at one point that I lost it when the comments in this thread were spot on! Thanks to all those posters. Between the performance on the court and laughing uncontrollably at the camera inspecting the ceiling of Assembly Hall...what a fun night! Plus, listening to F on the play calling audio and Ted K...one could tell they are radio announcers. And very good. A tip of the ole hat to the coaches. Great improvement....go IU!

I just gave my other half the ok to redecorate our bedroom. It does need it. But I get to spring for BTN+ for a month. Love cheering for IU basketball and soccer...and wishing for IU football. She wanted to watch some rom/com, uh...no. I carried the argument when I said...remember...we graduated when IU went undefeated. A slam dunk...Hint, hint...wink...wink... Go Hoosiers!

That series of shots by NW and the stops were heart-stopping! After IU had attempted many shots and seemed in control in the 2nd and OT. Whew!

So then what is important about recruiting NBA players? If you can be a great college player and not an NBA player...

Maybe EMU is 'not that good'. But they have 10 new players and a new head coach. The pre-season ranking on EMU and others really doesn't mean a thing. Did people notice the players that they added. Some good ones. I like the fact that EMU challenged IU. I don't like the fact that IU faded. Not surprised. Hope that gets fixed. We start this year with a new coach, a new scheme, new players in a stadium with fans that hadn't been happening. Unknowns are: who will be the point guard starter; who will be the shooting guard; who on this team can shoot; will Race extend and/or rebound; will TJD extend and go right and play defense and hustle; what will the defense look like; will they play sharp on every play; screens; pick and roll; assists; penetrate and dish; rebound; block out; foul out; be stupid; call timely timeouts; have lockerroom issues; will coaches teach; etc.? We do not know. We now have a sample. Much too small a sample size to know much.
