I have a different perspective on Archie Miller. He, in fact, did get the best from his players. They were a team. They did not have standouts. No prima donnas. That is the difference from a mid major and a top P 5 team. Archie was stuck with a bunch of me first players. Per Wiki: Miller became the head coach of the Dayton Flyers men's basketball team in 2011 and turned around a program that had back-to-back disappointing seasons.[4] His first season with Dayton saw Miller take the school to 20 wins. In his third year, 2014, he had the Flyers in the Elite Eight with 26 wins; to get there, Dayton upset three higher seeded teams. After the Elite Eight run in 2014, Miller faced replacing three starters and four seniors from that team. Despite having a depleted roster featuring just six players who were recruited to Dayton and no active player taller than 6-foot-6, Miller led his Flyers to a 27–9 overall record and to the third round of the 2015 NCAA tournament.[2] In the following three seasons, Miller averaged over 25 wins and each year coached the team made to the NCAA tournament. The latter two the Flyers also earned regular season Atlantic 10 champion titles.[6] The Flyers' 78 wins in from 2013–16 matched the best three-year period in school history.[2] Due to his coaching abilities, Miller was named a finalist for the 2015 Jim Phelan National Coach of the Year Award.

Really, what has Dolson done? It was alluded to and alleged here. Does not mean it happened. Or if some of it did, so? He may have made an offer. It may have been declined. He did not announce it on any official statement. Believe it or not.

You know what feels really great about now? Woody is toast. The team seems to have learned how to win. They beat the #11 team coached by Izzo on their home court. A major upset with a conference team. Woody outcoached Izzo. (Cough, cough) It is Friday night. Valentine's Day with my/your/our sweeties. (Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.) There's a game on tonight. We have a just about even chance of winning which means we will win. These messages on this board will get another shot in the arm. Can't wait for the tap dance by IT, you know who I mean. Dolson never did lead you on...we did. Lead on. Game on in more ways than one!

I doubt that there is any significance in those. No way to know if there was any unless we have a verified sighting or something other than chasing butterflies and waterfalls. I really do not have a clue what is going down during this period. Closing the deal is big for both sides. But in negotiating a contract, the advantage goes to the person that gets the offer. For instance, if one is offered...the offer means that you are The Chosen One. You. Now, the power if you will, goes to the recipient of the offer. Negotiation can begin knowing I Am The Chosen One. Evidently, a very unique and precious commodity. I have always paused after an offer. If The Man wants two weeks, and that is what it takes to close The Deal, then two weeks it is. You want another week? Why? These guys and gals are talking turkey. No need to hurry it. The new era of Indiana basketball isn't baked in a day.

Actually, I think that just as important as the other variables are...it is imperative that the coach be given the green light to rid the roster of any and all players deemed to not buy in to the new coach's schemes. I'm still bothered with the thought that IU administration handcuffed Archie's roster selection process. I probably am wrong, but I really want any new coach to succeed and be thoroughly enabled by the administration.

What's the hurry? Just because fans want an answer. Immediate gratification R us. Maybe Brad has to get back from his meeting with the Lealtor checking out houses on Lake Monroe. Maybe Brad's better half is seeking to become the representative of all of the basketball players on the Pacers as well as the Celtics. Maybe Brad wants two weeks and other coaches are still coaching games. Patience grasshopper.

It's game day @ Indiana basketball! Get excited! Wow! Today we get to see if IU can continue to turn this season around. Start really defending at home and maybe, just maybe, we get to see Coach Woodson post season! And we get to see...wait... Oh. Well, So the over/under is 140. Does that mean that both teams defend well or both teams do not shoot well? No fast breaks? Really? Coach Woodson already has a pin stuck in him. Putting that aside. I know family will be watching and cheering on the team. Will you? Hope Miles Rice keeps his head and gets across the timeline easily and quickly. Hope he distributes well. Will IU deploy our secret weapon? Will Woody clog the lane with bigs and stop our players from getting to the rim? Will Woody come up with a game plan to neutralize and take advantage of UCLA's weapons? Will Reneau be allowed to have a stellar day at the rim? Can anyone hit 3s? (Spoiler alert: It's Indiana!)

The lack of subject threads at ITH makes it less attractive to be a poster. This format at BTB is much more conducive to flow and learning and give and take.
