Y'all keep getting my hopes up. I just don't see the Mrs being happy in Beantown with young kids away from family and friends. Plus adding in Brad's travel schedule being away from home. Where is her support group? It was my understanding his familky loved Indianapolis because of this and why Brad didn't make a move sooner. With Bloomington an hour away, how this job wouldn't interest him and her both is quite obvious knowing his family and publicly what he has said about Indiana being his dream job. We can afford him based on his current contract and with Crean being in the twilight of his Indiana tenure, now is the time. Its like I have said previously, if Stevens is ready to come we cut bait with Crean even if he gets us to the tournament. When stars align...

His clock ran out 2 years ago as far as I'm concerned. The complete collapse with Cody's #1 ranked team showed me he can't win big with 2 lottery players so there's no way he can with anything less. He has had enough talented teams to have been to a final four at least, and last year's debacle showed he can't get us regularly to the tournament. Glass obviously loves him so they both need to go. Start fresh with a new AD first then let him go get his man for IU's flagship program. I have no confidence Glass can get it done.

when Andre the giant started abusing us, that would have been a good time to tell April "you have 2 minutes to stop him". If he can't take him out. If he can slow him down, give him alittle more run. We have absolutely no post prescence with Hanner so keeping that in mind, why not give April a shot? We will see more of this in the Big and our 4 guard lineup will get abused by these big, physical teams.

Luke didn't see the floor much here either. Granted he got hurt also. I still imagine starting him an Noah out the gate last year and how that may have impacted his future decision. The high low option would have been a thing a beauty and along Yogi, Will and Troy would havebeen a great lineup. I guess Crean thought he could bring him along slowly never knowing how bad a time he was having on campus with Troy. They never should have roomed together in the first place.

None being greater than to continue to see Crean keep underachieving at Indiana. We can suck just as bad as with a new coach from any level with the same aspirations as we have now. Except with hope; the new one can actually coach.

Oh believe me were not. We got all the calls in the first half before working the officials came into play. The secoind half just the opposite when the mighty JT2 worked his magic; not only in coaching but working the officials. You could just sense Calhoun having a mighty laugh knowing he owned him and Crean for so many years. The best coach won today sadly and that's the story of Creans tenure at Indiana. He backed into his only conference championship after getting blistered by Ohio State at home while still cutting down the nets in arguably the most embarrassing event ever at Assembly Hall. That and running up and down the concourse after beating Illinois at home and the ever popular trophy case addition of Sweet 16 rings. Doesn't he have an individual conf champ banner next to 1983 which is the fan's banner? I guess you could call it Tom Crean's banner. Unfortunately, his traditions would be laughed upon not only his predessesors but players and fans,alumni alike. Time for new traditions that include accomplishments of worthy note just not early graduations and 4/5 transfers yearly.

I've lost count on hw many times he should have blown a gasket. Today a perfect example. He's gonna let a terrible coach in JT2 work the crap out of the officials first half knowing the calls will go GU's way the second half because of it. A good coach would have been just as belligerent as Thompson and then some. Watching this just shows how outclassed Crean is in the X and O's plus on the sideline in gametime when we need him most. Crean needs to watch tape of any great coach, not just from Indiana though there are many to choose. Heck, I've seen his mentor go ballistic in East Lansing yet Crean can't hold Izzoe's jock on the sideline. Crean is a complete non factor as a in game coach. If it isn't planned for he cannot adapt to changes in the game and he sure cant work officials for our his teams benefit. I really think he wants it; he just can't do it. Coaching that is.

Now that's a word I haven't heard in 7 years. Wonder if Crean knows what it means or no doubt he doesn't; how to use one for his teams advantage? Even dad gummit Coca Cola Roy aw shucks in NC has been issued one since then. Its not like we haven't been screwed royally over and over by the officials to warrant one. The obvious answer is Crean doesn't watch enough of the game to actually know when were getting screwed. He's too busy frenetically pacing enough to bother the tv announcers than pay attention to the game. If Glass cared as much as he says about Crean being the answer to our problems and not part of them, he should tape a 5' box around Creans chair, kinda like a penalty box so he has to watch what's going on. He could infuse the Bobby Knight chaining down the chair rule as a precedent for the sake of the program and his own bhind much like the AD under Knight who was scared ________ of Knight. He could call it the coaching box rule.

You're right and he led us to final four; something 2 lottery players on one team couldn't do under our current overachiever. All we needed from Crean today was a little coaching coming out in the second half, and early timeout to change the gameplan when it started, find a way to keep the ball from Andre the giant, and attack a simple 2-3 zone just like against Syracuse 2 years ago. Although he failed miserably again which is expected when the team needs him most, I was proud of the team's efforts in spite of him. It's not their jobs to do his and for this reason alone is why Indiana will never reach it's full potential under him. At this point in his tenure, I would feel better turning the reins over to Joanni; coming from her bloodline I bet she could coach circles around her husband. Or better yet see if Jim may want to take over here instead of Michigan.

Does anyone think we could put Stevens on special assignment where Crean could get text messaging from him in games? He could even numerical code them. 1 call a timeout. 2 quit subbing so much. 3. Don't put Stan in the game. 4. Quit prancing around and watch the game. 5. Run inbounds play #1. 6. Do not play that zone defense. 7. Attack the middle to beat a zone defense. 8. How many coaches in the top 10 are in trouble with the NCAA? Its not our student athletes not getting it done. Its a terrible in game coach too busy clapping and sprinting the sidelines like a fool instead of making his 2.2 million to make a difference in the outcome. Creans teams don't play d, can't inbounds, beat a zone, and he can't call a timeout to save a win. He has made us a laughingstock of what was once a program every team feared and didn't want to play. Now IUPUI licks their chops hoping to get a shot at us let aloine any Big school. Watching him prance around is almost to the point of making me switch channels and I never thought I would ever say that. I can't support him; I love his players and the university by he sucks like no other coach I have ever witnessed. And I'm an IU grad.

I'm trying really hard to think of any coach I wouldn't trade Crean for. Any in the Big, how about any freaking coach at any power conference including Bruce Weber. How many times did he own Crean? That's a big time loaded question, since I have a lot of doubts anyone wouldn't be better. Mike Davis couldn't recruit to save his job, but I have to say in game he was better than Crean. And you certainly realize how bad that is? Yogi chucking up threes in crunch time is no different than Bracey Wright. Did Davis ever have a lottery player let alone 2 on one team? Crean's so bad the last school he left Indiana for wouldn't even give him a sniff. I might even take the old Delta Eagle Matt Porchop over Crean. He did more with his best and blasted us last year without another lottery pick. Name any coach in D1 power conference and I could make a strong argument if they were at Indiana they would do better than Crean in year 7 at Indiana. Let mcClain coach the rest of the way, or even Yogi.

Totally agree except even Ball St 1. wouldn't put up with it 2. never have given Crean a Coach K contract. This is really what are fan base has become and I'm guilty also. I knew we were beat when Crean couldn't call a timeout to try and salvage our lead. We got into OT on prayer, and I expected and saw a defeat when we got there. Instead of expecting to win these close games, our program and myself expects us to lose. Who's that on? As I have said before, Crean wouldn't be able to get past most of the Indiana high school sectionals unless Zeller was on his team. How much pain can we take? I'm back to the Mike Davis years knowing we are outmatched in the most important area...coaching. Just sick of his schtick and sucking. We deserve so much better, and a our coach should be in the top 10 and not top 100. After watching this pile of crap for 7 years, I would give our program to any upstart coach like Miller at Dayton or Marshall at Wichita State. At least give someone else a chance to suck asbad as our current. No wonder the likes of UL, UK, and damn near every Big school is laughing at us.

Tough, close game just like you will see in the NCAA tournament. Just totally shows what we have lacked getting past a sweet 16. Thompson works the officials all game. Crean getting manhandled. At this point you have to find something to combat their inside play and Crean just can't figure it out. Truth really hurts cause we should win this game.

I'm sorry folks. When you have a ten point lead that goes to 6 you get a timeout. Now it gets to three and still no timeout. If GU hits the shot we're tied up. What the hell do you need a coach for if he doesn't try to slow the other team's momentum? Pathetic display of coaching losing a 10 point lead with none of his input other than clapping.

DSR looking like the player he is; not sure how Yogi's been losing him. Love to see John Thompson crying all game long. His players grab, hack and hold. This isn't the Big East, but it's obvious we need the game being called tight. I'm not looking forward to the Big Ten officiating though. Wisconsin plays the same way.

Just a great half of ball from us. Georgetown crying about the refs, but there was some missed calls with JB2 getting mugged. Our inside getting exploited I don't know why they went away from that. Troy getting it out n the break just nice to see. He plays out of control but he's such a weapon. Love seeing him blow by 2 GU players after getting the rebound. I noticed Crean not coaching up during a timeout; not sure if he's letting McClain set things up. It may be a good move for him as the product on the floor speaks for itself. I hope we keep it up; I've never been a Hoya fan going back to Ewing and co.

Stevens will never be a backup plan. If and when he's ready to come to IU, I think you take him. Of course that's my opinion and watching how Indiana performed as a consensus #1 team and with 2 lottery picks, gives me enough information to know what's Crean potential as our coach. I don't need to see him fulfill the remainder of his contract to know where his peak will be. He will never assemble a team that loaded ever again.

A 20+ page topic on recruiting Kendrick vs Crean when Calhoun had some health issues way back on Scout in probably year 2 of his tenure. Exhales. The person, page something, was supposedly in the know and said Calhouns health is the word leading many to believe we would win Kendricks services. He was a heckuva talent whom I think ended up at memhis with a not so good collegiate career. Helpful?

Which two years are you referring to being contenders and what are your expectations of being one? Certainly your pedigree knows what a real contender is and why not state as such?
