He won't leave on his own. I think he makes 5.2 million per which would place him near the top of NBA coaches without the hassle of spoiled players. He would also not be able to bad mouth the NBA players unless he wanted a Carlisomo moment. The one and dones have caught up with him, but I don't blame him for exploiting the rule. I think he's a good coach and has proven it with his resume, but he obviously cheats with players. That's why he fits in so well with Kentucky.

He always has to be the star of the game instead of doing his job and not being noticed. Hightower was right up there with him, and I still can't understand Crean's decision to recognize him at our game. For a historian of our program he muffed that one up bad. Retiring doesn't make it any better, although I think Crean did it to suck up to all the other officials.

I can only speak for myself, but coaching is how I judge him. I don't think you would find myself or anyone else even mentioning the obvious mannerisms, etc if he would have hung a real banner. Look at what we put up with Knight and all his shenanigans, but he got a pass because he was a great coach. The skeptics will always be there based on our performance on the court. Afterall, we are Indiana fans and can't be fouled by the actual product. With that said two great wins so my compliments to him on those. I think its too late though.

Excellent analysis! These days with many coaches now taking the Brad Stevens statistical approach to everything from personnel to set plays and fouling, I would not be surprised if Tom Crean doesn't realize this. His team's results speak for themselves. Even without these excellent statistics you have provided, I think most of us can see his teams success when they get out and run and force the pace. I have never understood why Crean has never pressed or trapped consistently to try to make even the slowest of teams to speed up. Please forward this to Crean asap and thanks for your efforts.

Doc, thanks for answering my question relating to his announcement being spoiled. Your mention of his emotions shown on his expressions has really made me pay attention to those now. I could tell he was injured on the play he went out of bounds the other game. I hope he is doing well and tell him all alumni and fans of Indiana University thank him for his dedication and hard work. We all want him and the team to do well.

If he looks at all options and then considers the risk of potential injury, I think he is gone. $ talks and one look at the Noel injury from a couple years ago will sway him. In Creans defense I think Noahs outside game has improved with his driving to the basket the last two games. I just wish we would have seen him get this many shots earlier in the year. Our record would be different.

I feel the same about losing and I didn't even feel that way when Davis was our coach. An apathetic fan base is what we have become. Thanks Tom.

Its nice to finally see us use Noah both on the post and outside. Its sad that it took us so long to figure it out. Just makes me wonder what could have been? This will be our only year to see him play in the candy stripes so why not get the most out of him?

I'll go with Noah as well. Tough call as we were well balanced which makes us a lot better than just relying on Yogi. Noah driving to the basket was another dimension of his game that he does well and I hope to see more of it.
