  1. Stevens nor any of the top coaches will come here NOW. That's why you do the Davis thing and elevate McClain to interim head coach with the stipulation this isn't a try out. You have all year to recruit "your coach", namely Brad Stevens as he is missing his wife and kids for all of 82 overnights this year. The baggage of firing Crean is gone and not palpable. Worse case see what happens in college ball this year...watch the top coaches. Talk to Woodson, Wittman, Smart and all the other coaches with IU ties in the NBA. Let me tell you this pond is stocked, and we will land a trophy. If its handled right; and now is the right time for the above I have mentioned. Better times soon ahead.
  2. You're so wrong;they were always legitimate. Finally a fire Tom Crean thread is agreed upon by you of all people. Must be something to this. Time for another name change...how about #1StevensBeliever.
  3. C'mon man your still placating this man? You're pissed at the kids but not their leader? You feel terrible for him when he's allowed this to happen on his watch? Its always the players faults; so sick of making excuses for this joke of a leader.
  4. So in other words long story short without another long diatribe, you agree IU has cause to send him packing. You came around a lot sooner than many others here. It seems finally the excuses may stop.
  5. Really not surprised. Didn't both fail tests last year with little to no punishment? How much should we take as Indiana fans before enough is enough. Some saw the writing on the wall a long time ago; others are just seeing it now. Just shameful which is what I have said at about everything related to this coach.
  6. When someone else in the know like Dakich stating Crean's contract may have been broken, would you believe it then? Dan states the obvious; at least for those that know what it takes to play for Indiana. And no more excuses that start from the top. Do you think Crean will admit that these are even his players royally screwing up or will he blame it on the culture Sampson started?

    Season Prediction

The lump sum may be a lot less than what's in his contract. Lots of lawyer talk but when 40% of your team has had alchohol related arrests or citations since February 2014, his employer has cause. This would be the cheapest way out for Indiana since it would be 12 big ones otherwise. Momentum is building.
  8. I feel bad for Devin and his family and hope he has a fast recovery. Believe it that we root for the same team. Your blatant violation of forum rules should get you your wish, but discipline here just like our team mostly goes unpunished as I have been called worse by other regulars. To think these infractions aren't related to the program and its head coach is certainly something you and those other posters never want to discuss. Just like Creans post game pressors.
  9. I sure do believe Crean's lost the program. I don't care under what circumstances the accident occurred. It did; it was alchohol related and its the third one of this year. Who polices this? The head coach does, and its his job to make sure it stops. The players must have missed the dui and under age charges from last year since we're right back at it. The buck starts and stops with Crean like it or not. He fails miserably on and off the court. His terrible coaching always stuck out now he can't even handle the players on or off the court. Momentum is here to send him packing and I say bye bye.
  10. Watching this product called Indiana basketball is bullshit. You act like its our fault the program has now sunken to these alcohol and drug related lows and we're tearing the program down. Why don't you blame the man in charge since he heads the program? I know its too easy to pass the blame; Tom Crean right on cue.
  11. [quote name="HoosierSadaseci" post="96225" timestamp="1414872841"]Either Crean has no influence over his players in how they should conduct themselves and their activities off the court, or we have some very foolish players. 3 times within a year now, come on, you can't be serious.[/quote) Crean has lost the program period. He has no influence off the court or on it. On it he can't coach himself out of a wet paper bag. Off it he can't keep his players from making dumb decision after dumb decision. Can't blame the players. They have no senior leadership thanks to Crean plus they have watched Hanner, Yogi, and Stan get in very little trouble for alchohol offenses. Plus the alledged toking done last year with little consequences. Nine newcomers to the program this year and normally 5/6 every year kills the continuity in leadership and wins. And Crean does this by his own hand. We have become the laughingstock of the B1G in almost every way now thanks to him yet many still want to give him a pass. His own words say he's worried about Holt where he should be kicked off the team. Our terrible post prescence just became worse. It will be interesting to hear Glass' comments considering what happened at Michigan. Wonder if he will tell us to go root for another team like some of our apologists here? Best wishes Devin for a speedy recovery.

    UNC: Wainstein Report

Kansas 1988 title was tainted also, and I think they went on probation after it. That was with Larry Brown who happened to play his college ball at North Carolina. Funny how Roy couldn't win one there with the awesome talent he had although he went to several final fours like Howland at UCLA.

    Hoosier Transfers and Recruiting Targets

Crean, Remy asked to be reinstated allegedly so to me that's proof. Roth up until school started thought he had a spot. Jurkin leaves for more playing time when he never got any before. I would be willing to bet most of these conversations were you won't get any playing time or you have been recruited over, so why stay? It should have been unless you improve on this aspect of your game, you won't get much time. Or we have recruited some really talented newcomers but you will get another opportunity to prove yourself. Nine newcomers in year 7 and only adding one burger boy just doesn't make any sense for your program. Do you not see the value in upperclassmen like your namesake?

    Hoosier Transfers and Recruiting Targets

Reread my comparison which wasn't what you wrote. If you're gonna reply to my post actually read it and get it right. I don't mind the disagreement with my opinion as it happens a lot.

    Hoosier Transfers and Recruiting Targets

Rob Johnson's comparisons are similar to Remys. So instead of having a senior Remy we have a freshmen Remy. Same with Priller and Jurkin. We keep resetting with younger, inexperienced and body wise immature players chasing the next shiny object. Same for next year with the oversigns and still continuing to recruit. We aren't Kentucky even if coach wants us to be with 9 new players on the team. Results speak for themselves andnot sure how you can pump the sunshine on it, but many will find a way to the kool aid. Drink up.

(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU

If its Yogi, Troy, and Stan I seriously doubt it. JB2 won't get many open looks but most others will.
  17. Wait until JB2 gets gameplanned and guarded by every B1G's teams best defender. All of those easy jumpers and floaters won't come as easy. Compared to E Gordon since he was one and done, I don't even think that's fair. JB2 is not as strong, not as quick, nor has the range. I agree with pumping the brakes comment. You and many are expecting way too much from these frosh.

I didn't see the scrimmage but saw some highlights. What's even more apparent now is we will get killed inderneath. Hanner is our only true post prescence and he still has a long way to go. Devin and Holt used as subs just won't get it done at the 5 or even 4. I saw more of the same from Yogi and other guards having to create their own shots. Our opponents will let us shoot every chance they get. I didn't see much defense either. Did you attend and what are your thought?

(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU

I was referring to a win or two in the tourney. Without Hanner being a stud and based on having one in Noah last year, I just don't see it even with adding several better wing players. You can't play them all at once and you have to rebound. I just don't see a replacement for the 10 Noah had last year even with 2/3 of our post players. And Troy needs to commit to rebounds and I just don't think he will. Troys a wing player at the next level.

    Conclusions from HH

My point was trying to figure out how we overachieved as underdogs or quite frankly, as front runners. Not much when its all sad and done. Didn't Lou Watson win a B1G one year?
  21. schoosier

    Conclusions from HH

Not for Indiana basketball. When you have 6/1000 point career scorers on one team which is probably the only time that's ever happened in our history, and finish 5th in the B1G, how were we underdogs? Plus 2 future lottery picks were also 2 of those above. I think we have gotten so use to underachieving when we do make a Sweet 16 we're somehow underdogs. The culture has changed here; instead of expectations we're just like our current coach.

(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU

I agree your shade of glasses may be crimson. You lose a double double lottery pick at center who is a rebounding machine, plus a 1000 point scorer who avg. 4 rebounds. Now, we have no post prescence outside Hanner for all of about 5 minutes before he gets in foul trouble. Our inside depth's gonna kill us this year. Unless we score at a high rate and use very little shot clock, its going to be a long year. And this style of play just don't jive with B1G basketball unless your coach can figure out how to do it. Look at Crean's rack record the last 6 years.
  23. schoosier

    Conclusions from HH

Which year did he coach and motivate from the underdog role? Year 1 1-17, 11th Year 2 4-14, tied 9th Year 3 3-15, 11th Year 4 11-7 , 5th Year 5 14-4, 1st Year 6, 7-11, tied 8th I see 3 underdog years out of 6 and miserable B1G years from all 3. Using these games and taking out all the fluff really puts it in perspective for me. Now, when most experts are picking us to finish 10, do you think they do so based on talent or coaching? Its a game of numbers and Creans got his stats just like the players.

Syracuse under a microscope and the money well dries up. There is no other way blue chip kids would want to play in that city. The coach is probably the most under achiever in NCAA history. Their 87 team had 4 players better than our best, so thankful it is a team sport. They are the all arrest u compared to the all academic u of North Carolina. ACC...good choice to align Notre Dame with their similar academic issues.
  25. I like the sound of that at the end. I don't know how excited I am of three 6' guards or thereabouts starting with 6'7" and 6'8 underneath. That's why I have been advocating the return of the Hurryin Hoosiers. 100+ points per game.
