  1. Running back went the wrong way. Missed it.
  2. Lets have a good drive. Score some points. And get to halftime. My blood pressure needs a rest.
  3. Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. :)
  4. Gentlemen it seems like only yesterday. October 1987. A bunch of 18 to 21 year olds on a road trip to Ohio state. Tailgate in the parking lot, too poor to buy tickets. Listening to the game on the radio and hear the crowd in the stadium. 4th quarter we could make our way to the gates and get thru to see the clock winding down. Watching the scoreboard say 31-10 as the clock ran down. Running on to the field. We beat those mother truckers. Then hitting the town bars afterwards. HISTORY DOES REPEAT ITSELF. It can happen, It’s going to happen. All you yougins are are going to experience it. Cherish it.
  5. Agree. Season is a massive success no matter what happens. Will be hard not to be disappointed if it doesn’t go our way tomorrow. My faith is in Cig. This is a team of destiny.

That's not true. The other night he admitted he learned a lesson that he needed capable guards to play well. So he went out and got some. Baby steps.

I am from Missouri -- show me. That's where I am at. Neither up, nor down. Guy has a top 5 roster -- money wise. Top 10 roster -- talent wise. No more humps. Time to put up or shut up. Time to win those championships we have been promised.

Cig took 31 or so transfers, plus a bunch of other players, and molded them in a few months to the first 10-0 football team in IU history. In freaking 1 year. He's got them clicking like a well-oiled machine. No "we got to learn to play together." No "gotta get over the hump." Yeah, coaching matters. A LOT. Woodson has all the talent money can buy. Next week we get a real glimpse of what we are headed for.
  11. I was thinking after “retirement” Michael Jordan. He completely revamped his game as he got old.
  12. They must be focusing on Saturday.
  13. Guys, don't worry. Cig has got this. It's a team of destiny.

Who says it wasn't "solid" win over a "top 75" (LOL). And yes we closed out the game like we should. But we basically beat a non-tourney team. That's great and you have to do that a bunch of times to get to 20+ wins. But the men separate from the boys playing the top teams. That has been our Achilles heal the past two years. My concern is matching up against them. It's one game in a three-game season, I am neither positive or negative. I am wait and see.

Yeah because a bunch of those points came in the last 1:30 mins of the game. It was an 8 point game at with 1:19 left. A turnover and Good free throw shooting (go figure) sealed it. Point being it was a closer game than the final score indicated.

Have you ever been a boss? Happens all the time. Boss makes decisions underlings disagree with and they talk about it. I used to have a guy we called "Lucky Lou" because he always failed up.

Solid game. Lots of good. Some bad. We did let them hang around which if a few things went their way we'd be looking at a L or a 2-4 point victory. While we are definetly improved against unranked type team, I have two concerns: 1) our tendancy to "play down" to our competition, at least for a half or so, and 2) how we are going to match the intensity of the top teams. Last year we go smoked by Uconn and Auburn; Kansas was close. Same as year before. Other than Atlantis, we have no marquee non-conference match ups. We may not know how we stack up for some time.

So I haven't watched him at IL. But was he a stand in the corner 3 point shoot or did he come of screens and shoot in rythym? Could be the difference?

That’s the key — what is the buyout. Someone can always pay it.

Adam Howard No Longer On Staff

Depending on the nature of the issue, only if the owner/head is exptremely insecure. They may have a discussion about it, but outright letting a dude go may be extreme. It seems here this was a man made controversy. Woodson decides to move some lockers. Rather than talking to the players and letting them know he decided to do it and why, he tells his staffer to do it. Staffer is hesitant because it seems uncessary and he may or may not have gotten clarification as to "why" from Woodson. So he sits on it for some time, trying to figure out the best way to approach it. He speaks to some co-workers, who proably say "just do it." Mediocre Mike get's POd because it isn't done on his timeline. Eventually AH gets the courage to approach the two players and instigate the move. Mediocre Mike sits around stewing because someone "questioned" the great Mike Woodson. Eventually it comes to a head, and AH is dismissed. Look any way this is "spun" it is stupid. It's not like the kid challenged his substitution patterns, offensive system (or lack thereof), defensive system, or many other legitimate questions. Part of being the head man is mentoring guys like AH and explaining the hows and whys of his thinking. It's also taking input from the youngins who may be closer to the players than the head coach is. Even if this was "insubordination" it hardly rises to an "offense" of anything as the job was eventually done. Real Coaches would probably forget they even made the request because they have so many other more important things to address.
