I would rather listen to Cig anyway. I hope he writes a book. From what I can tell he has a great leadership model that he lives and preaches.

It would need to be an epic fail to be gone after two years (or someone once in a lifetime becomes available). But they would leave with a fat wallet. In two years you should be able to show promise as far as team mechanics is concerned (even winning given the portal and what several coaches are showing), but more importantly putting in an off the court structure for success. Everything from strength/conditioning, player development, to recruiting. Currently, IU after 4 years doesn't have any of that.

I don't see 11 conference wins. Best case is going to be 10-10. We have 9 conference home games left. Which means we would need to beat #24 IL, #22 UCLA, #21 Purdon't (ranks as of today). We also have the Dusty May Michigan express coming in. At Iowa and at NW could be a challenge as well. Plus we haven't beaten WI away in like forever, have we? Given what we have seen to date, this season is a complete crapshoot (or crapfest).

Two things can be true. The contract can, and does, say that Woodson reports to the AD. But we all know, Mike Woodson only reports to Mike Woodson. Knowing Quinn and some big money boosters have his back, he probably doesn't respect the chain of command and reporting to Dolson.

While I appreciate the people connected sharing bits and pieces of information, let’s face it. Unless the source is Whiten, Dolson, Quinn or the King himself, it’s still just speculation. It may be 90% certain, but it isn’t 100%, and things can happen. The fat lady may be in her dressing room getting ready, but she ain’t singing yet.

Those are just the cards he's been dealt. He has said for portal transfers, he looks at production vs. potential. But everything can't be portal, every year. He's going to have to recruit and develop young guys sooner or later -- he's got those guys in waiting. However, I don't see him starting a freshman at QB ever -- so they are going to have to put the time in to convince him they are ready.

I am because she's different. She's from SEC country. She's fairly visible. Engaged with the fans and students. Not some bump on a log like the past people have been.

Lame ducks can be an even a bigger problem because they don't give a farque. He can step on toes not to worry about the ramifications cause he'll be gone.

The wild card in your analysis is Pam Whitten. Like her or not, she's a bad @$$ and wants IU athletics to be what it should be. She set the football program in the right direction, and even Cig gives her credit publicly. I am sure she's thinking basketball is up next as that has the IU tradition behind it. At least I hope so.

You and me both, although I came on after the B&W TV. But remember the first VCRs -- we thought it was so cool. And getting yelled at for taping over something. I still have the tapes down in the basement.

If he can convince the young kids to stick around and develop them, could be a solid position for several years. 2 years with mendoza, Followed by two years with one of the young kids. Rinse and repeat.
