And college football bowl season used to be on par with the NCAA tournament for me, but conference realignments and the corporate-fication of it all has knocked it firmly below the NCAA tournament now. The tourney is now king. Here’s to seeing the new coach getting IU solidly in every future tournament with no bubble drama that we’ve had to recently endure.

This is a desperate fan base at this point. The administration can hire an "up & comer" and then possibly be in the same position 4 years from now when he under-performs or hire someone like Beard and hold your breath that you don't see the police report on social media of him at Kilroys totally blasted. I'm starting to feel like the sure thing, homerun hire isn't going to happen.

Thank you for putting this into words better. Beard seems like the only candidate portrayed that doesn't need to be woo'ed to come to IU. His potential hire is starting to grow on me. *ducks*
