While watching Michigan St the other night and onto another Final Four, it got me wondering how nice it must be for some fans to have a double threat school to root for.  Michigan St, Ohio St, Wisconsin, Florida and possibly even Michigan in the near future.  Their football and basketball programs are perennial contenders, or at least in the discussion for a conference championship or a national championship.  This is where I'd like to see IU in the near future (10 years or less).   I remember when Wisconsin was the red-headed stepchild of the B1G for both sports in the 80s.  They were just that team with similar colors with the ugly block "W" on their helmets.  Now look at them.  Always in the conversation when talking B1G titles and further.  What did Wisconsin do to accomplish this?  Was it all Barry Alvarez?  Whatever it was, it's worked.  Even Northwestern has had some success turning their football program around.     IU football was close at one time and then it hit the skids.  Being in a power conference, I don't think this is too much to strive for as a fan or better yet, as an AD?  Or do we simply focus on getting the cash cow program (basketball) back in order first?   Just some random thoughts.  Mods, wasn't sure where to post this but please move as you see fit!

I admire your positive outlook but there are a few patterns that have developed over the Crean years that have to be concerning for you. Namely the late season collapses and the turnover of players.
