Post-Butler Frustration Thread

I could only watch the 1st half of that game from yesterday. And was thinking this exact thing! And you are exactly right, his answer is keep on substituting until something works/someone gets hot! That is his answer, have one of his players get hot and "carry" us through this. Instead of making an adjustment and giving our ball to our damn 6'10 long center on the block for a way HIGHER % SHOT!! TB is down to 50% from the field on the season btw, A BIG dip from last season. of course this is not counting our cupcake match we had last night, so he probably has upped that a couple % points -
Of the teams in this field this year trinity is the only one that I know of that is any good anyway Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

He had an entire season to learn, last year! Or are you saying just isn't a starter? -

I guess I should watch the game first before I pass judgement on this one. Based off JBJ's comments in his 1st response to a questions, EFFORT/ENERGY? Was that really an issue here? Just looking at the box score, what I see. Start with the obvious, Out-rebounded them by 16 with 12 OR's!!! We shot 28% from down town, went to the FT line 26 for nearly 77%, Newkirk shot 11 times (that's way, way, WAY too much), only had 11 assists, 13 TO's for a CTC team is actually good, and we gave up 83 points to Butler. Yeah I'd guess an L. Back to our conversation on Green at PG. lets compare JN and DG's production from Saturdays game. JN 9pts on 3-11fgs with 4reb 1asts 2to's and 1steal and blk in 29 mins DG 2pts on 0-1fgs, with 3asts 0to's 2rebs in 6 mins Kid deserves a better shot imo! Not enough time thus far in the season. Maybe I'm crazy and just don't see it. But I see a whole lot more confidence in Green than Newkirk on a players level. And that's maybe because he feels the need to be Yogi, maybe its his knee. Some players just aren't the same mentally and I really hate that for him. But at this point it is, just what it is! I'll hush now and go watch the game with a slow day at work. -

wasn't it like a semi final or championship game or something. I remember seeing that too, HAS to be with no shot clock as well. High level league eh!? -

It would ABSOLUTELY be the best time to try and iron those mistakes out/maybe give some extra time to gel there too. I'm not buying these "freshman mistakes" thing either. Every MAJOR D1 school in the country are playing freshman in meaningful minutes category. JN would be best suited for the remainder of the season to come off the bench to maybe try to provide a spark. I'm looking for a transfer possibly to a mid major at seasons end here. Just not the greatest fit. I believe Spaz saw this early on? -

I wouldn't say a much better on ball defender that green. He might be a little better than Green on D. But huge difference in court vision! And Green a much more confident player as well. -

We see how "relevant" IU reallyt is more and more with recruiting, or is it bc of Spaz? -

Now I can "kinda" see why it was so important to CTC to get an elite PG in '17 class, and why he was "trying" to convert JMorg into a PG. This team doesn't have one! We are also missing our leader out there right now. I'm the last person that's trying to come up with an excuse for Coach Spaz! If I'm TB I start seriously worrying about my future. DD as well. Oh so much more I'd like to say here. Maybe this teams best attempt at a PG is DGreen?? And yes, I'm serious. Been saying it all year -

Serious question here, what had you saw from this team to make you think we were ready to take the next step? I'd like to know. Bc we beat UNC? I didn't like how we closed that game out, at all! I really hate that I haven't tuned in to an IU game since UNC. I am so beyond finished with CTC. DONE!! So sick of watching him get out coached . Yeah I said it, delete me if you wish! Yeah, does the guy have his strengths? Absolutely! But when your biggest is in game adjustments, determining which skill set each individual NEEDS to improve on. If I were a big fella in HS, there is no way in hell I would go play for CTC, NO WAY!!! Now, maybe if I were a wing. That's different, one of his few strengths. Come on Fred, that seat better be steaming hot Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Who knows how many practices and hours CTC has wasted trying to make HMP the PG and a 3pt shooter Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

And oh yeah, been scared of this game from day one! Kansas win made me feel a lil better but after the IPFW loss. Brought me back to my expectations of this group. I'll go ahead and apologize in advance about being so negative. but I just cannot get excited about IU basketball anymore. And no one hates that more than I!! A whole lot more I want to say but I won't do it here. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

I agree, sadly guessed this coming with TB. It bugs absolute shite out of me to watch him play 90% of the time! I know that the "game is changing" and all but he needs to park his longed armed ass down on the block at least half the time. Hey CTC! We have guards and wings that actually feed the post, unlike years past. Absolutely excited to see DD develop! Just hope it's down there where he needs to be Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
I was going to say something along those lines too but I'll go with. Who is Tremont waters? Lol Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Right! He should've kicked that **** out to Fulkerson . But of course that would have been his 1st 3pt attempt on the year! I know UNC was without Berry, and I really that TENN was crap this year (maybe they are). Just to show that no matter who your playing, you better show up to play Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
